Chapter 698: Chapter 670 Self-inflicted Trouble

Based on the intelligence gathered by the Nether Army, the location of the Nine Heavens Frost Jade was indeed a place called ’Imperial Sky Club.’

And the specific appearance of the Nine Heavens Frost Jade was in the hands of the owner of the Imperial Sky Club.

This was also the information the Nether Army had investigated.

The destination Li Chen was now heading toward was that so-called Imperial Sky Club.

He looked up at the sky, noting that time was getting late. At this hour, places like clubs were just beginning to open.

Generally, at this time, the crowd wouldn’t be very large.

However, when Li Chen arrived at the Imperial Sky Club, he realized he had underestimated its popularity.

Because he seldom went to such places, he’d thought of them as similar to any other bar. What he hadn’t expected was how booming the business was.

As soon as Li Chen approached the entrance, someone stopped him.

"I’m sorry sir, our club operates on a membership basis. Please show your member card," a security guard said to Li Chen.

"I don’t have a membership card. I’m here to see your boss," Li Chen stated calmly.

"No membership card?" Upon hearing Li Chen’s words, the originally polite security guards’ expressions immediately changed.

"If you don’t have any business here, leave at once!" one of the guards bluntly said. "What do you take our Imperial Sky Club for? Our boss isn’t someone you can just meet willy-nilly, scram!"

"Exactly. You can’t even afford a member card, and you’re talking about seeing our boss? That’s a joke. If there’s nothing else, don’t hang around here!" another guard joined in.

Looking at Li Chen, both guards wore disdainful expressions on their faces.

Clearly, they had seen people like him before, and this was always how they dealt with such situations.

"What if I don’t leave?" asked Li Chen, gazing at the two guards indifferently.

"Refuse to leave?" The guard sneered at Li Chen. "If you won’t leave, then we’ll have to help you out."

With that, the guard looked ready for action, as if he really planned to ’help’ Li Chen out—by force.

"Let’s do as you say," Li Chen nodded slightly and then tilted his head up slightly, "Help them out."

Before the guards could grasp what was happening, a group of black-clad, stern-faced Nether Army warriors surged out from beside Li Chen.

The guards were powerless to resist and were swiftly twisted together, then ’rolled’ out.

This time, they were quite literally ’rolled’ out.

After glancing at the Imperial Sky Club’s sign, Li Chen strode in.

As Li Chen had observed from outside, the place was indeed bustling with good business. There were at least dozens of luxury cars parked at the entrance, and the inside was just as lively.

However, the commotion Li Chen caused at the entrance had already drawn the attention of those inside the club.

As soon as Li Chen stepped into the club, a large crowd rushed towards him.

"Who is this, daring to cause trouble at the Imperial Sky Club? Tired of living?" A group of goons approached Li Chen with aggressive strides and haughty expressions.

Even though Li Chen seemed to have brought quite a few people with him, these battle-hardened men weren’t concerned. They were accustomed to brawls and, seeing no significant difference in numbers, they were not intimidated by Li Chen and his group.

"I’m looking for your boss," Li Chen repeated his initial statement.

"Our boss is someone you can just meet because you want to? Who do you think you are, strutting into the Imperial Sky Club with just a few men?" The leader of the goons laughed scornfully upon hearing Li Chen’s words.

To him, Li Chen was someone who was foolishly courting death.

"Make them leave," Li Chen said, no longer bothering with idle talk and turning to the Nether Army warriors behind him.

"Yes!" The group of over ten Nether Army warriors instantly responded.

The goons, clearly ready to fight, acted first.

They believed that in a melee, seizing the initiative typically ensured victory.

They indeed got the upper hand at first, each wielding weapons like steel pipes, while the Nether Army warriors were unarmed.

Still, they ended up ’rolling’ out.

The sheer disparity in strength was not something that could easily be compensated for.

Let alone a group of over ten, a couple of Nether Army warriors would have sufficed to deal with these ordinary goons.

Of course, should the Nether Army warriors be armed, even one would be enough.

They were adept at fighting, even more so at killing.

Li Chen’s command was to "make them leave," a directive evidently more challenging than "kill them."

However, with the action of over ten Nether Army warriors, this order became simple to execute.

For them, accomplishing such a task was not difficult.

After dealing with the ten or so goons, silence fell over the club.

By then, everyone knew the club’s boss could no longer hide.

A paunchy middle-aged man came out from inside, a wry smile on his face.

"I am the owner of this club. I’m not sure what matter brings you here, sir. If there has been any offense before, I offer my apologies here and now," said the middle-aged man, looking at Li Chen with a pained expression.

"You haven’t offended me, and they’re not worthy of offending me," Li Chen spoke coldly. "I’m here to ask about one thing." Li Chen said.

Then, Li Chen described the general characteristics of the Nine Heavens Frost Jade to the owner.

As he heard Li Chen’s description, the owner’s face grew even more sour. "So, sir, you’re also here for that. That item was taken away by a Japanese man named Inu Ya last week, and I have no idea where he is now."

Upon hearing this, Li Chen frowned.

"Search!" Li Chen commanded, gesturing to his followers. "No matter where this Japanese man is, find his location within one day!"

"Yes!" The Nether Army Warriors nodded and immediately relayed the signal to the others.

After casting a cursory glance at the owner, Li Chen turned and left the club without another word.

He had come for the Nine Heavens Frost Jade in the first place, and initially, he had not intended to resort to violence. That matters had escalated was simply due to those people’s own fault.

Watching Li Chen’s domineering departure, many within the club looked towards him with a mixture of curiosity and awe.
