Chapter 422: Chapter 397 Turbulent Winds and Gathering Clouds

Li Chen and his party set off for the Primitive Forest, and elsewhere, some masters were getting restless because of a message they had just received.

In North America, Alaska.

Alaska was the land that the United States bought from Russia, part of which is within the Arctic Circle.

In a residential house in Alaska, inside a dim room, a man shrouded in shadow sat there.

He simply sat there, as if he carried an aura of imposing authority, yet his entire being was laced with a hidden rage and a restrained ferocity.

Ghost King!

As the saying goes, "a crafty rabbit has three burrows." When the Ghost King resolved to start a rebellion, he had already prepared a way out for himself. Although it was Shadow who had initiated the collusion, what’s to say the Ghost King did not entertain the idea of using Shadow as well?

They were simply using each other after all.

After the failed rebellion, the Ghost King went into hiding and had never ventured out, so the Dark Division of the Palace of the Nether King couldn’t find him.

He had been biding his time until now, and finally, the opportunity had come.

The opportunity came from a report that had just been delivered, documenting Li Chen’s movements of the day in its entirety.

Just as the Dark Division was searching for the Ghost King, he too had been surveilling Li Chen continuously, and although his resources were not as terrifying as those of the Palace of the Nether King, he could easily uncover something as significant as Li Chen’s trip to Cainan Province.

"So, you’ve finally left Huaxia?" It seemed as though the Ghost King had not spoken for a long time; his voice was hoarse and carried within it the hint of madness, and his eyes were filled with intense murderous intent!

He had waited for this moment for far too long; the vendetta between him and Li Chen was one of life and death—either Li Chen must die or the Ghost King must perish!

Of course, there was a second option—that the Ghost King could simply go into hiding, never to surface in this lifetime. But for an ambitious schemer like him, this was clearly impossible.

In his life, he was determined to bring down the Palace of the Nether King and kill Li Chen!

"Have Chris and the others come to see me," the Ghost King commanded with a wave of his hand, and immediately, a figure standing in the dark of the room vanished through a secret door at the back.

In the room, only the Ghost King remained. He returned to his seat, placing the report aside. Suddenly, the content hidden beneath the report revealed itself.

Previously, the Ghost King had gotten excited about the opportunity to kill Li Chen after reading just the first page of the report. However, upon seeing the content of the second page, his pupils shrunk.

"Ancient relics, the secret of life, immortality?"

The report outlined that deep within the Mong Kok Forest, someone had discovered a Relic of Life that appeared to contain something capable of granting agelessness and immortality.

This information had leaked out somehow. It was said that a group had already emerged from within, bearing unknown benefits, but significantly increased in strength.

After reading this news, the Ghost King began to ponder. Everyone yearned for immortality, but throughout history, no one had ever achieved it.

However, since there were people emerging with confirmed benefits, there must be something of value.

"It seems I should seek out some of my old friends," the Ghost King muttered with a curl of his lips, appearing to smile but carrying a chilling coldness.

Within Africa.

This was a place perennially scorched by the sun, where water was as precious as oil, and where violence was the eternal mainstay, with everyone carrying guns when they stepped outdoors.

In a low city amidst the desert, inside a house, there were two people very familiar to Li Chen—the Li siblings.

"Those tails following us are too persistent, quite troublesome," remarked Li Yang in a low voice.

Li Xinmei gently poured water into a cup, saying, "It’s fine, they can’t trace us anyway."

Li Yang’s handsome face still bore scars, the wounds inflicted by Li Chen not so easily faded. However, his leg had been healed.

"We were so close this time, just a bit more and we could have killed him." Li Yang’s face showed a trace of discontent as he recalled the clash with Li Chen. It seemed that all it would have taken was one final step to slay Li Chen on the spot, yet the outcome was the complete opposite.

He almost got killed by Li Chen while the latter was in high spirits.

Li Xinmei remained silent when suddenly, her phone rang, with two messages coming in one after another.

"Brother, the opportunity has come," Li Xinmei said with joy lighting her face and a deadly glint flashing in her eyes.

"What opportunity?" Li Yang looked at Li Xinmei, a hidden lecherousness gleaming in his eyes.

He hadn’t expected his sister to grow up so beautiful.

"Li Chen has left Huaxia, he’s gone to Mong Kok Forest in Cainan Province for a trip," said Li Xinmei with excitement. "The opportunity has come."

Li Yang too stood up, his face lighting up with delight, "I’ll go call Egger and the others."

"Wait, Brother." Suddenly, as Li Xinmei read the next message, she exclaimed.

"What is it?" Li Yang turned around.

"In that forest, there’s a rumor of a relic," said Li Xinmei, looking at the content, somewhat shocked.

"Relic?" Li Yang’s face froze for a moment before he took the phone and started to examine it. After finishing, his expression fluctuated uncertainly.

Having grown up in the Li Family from childhood, and being from Huaxia, they had come across descriptions of such relics in classical texts. According to those texts, these relics were left by skilled individuals from ancient times, and within them lay various treasures, such as swords capable of slicing gold as if it were mud, hidden weapons similar to the Rain of Pear Blossom Needles, and other precious cultural artifacts.

However, for modern people, the most precious of all were the Pills left by Alchemists.

Occasionally, in such relics, one might find Pills left by Alchemists that possess extraordinary effects, some of which could easily aid in prolonging life.

Li Yang was contemplating the fact that since he knew of the relic, it was obvious that others would know, too. This would inevitably lead to chaos.

Why would the person who knew this information not go themselves?

Either the relic was extremely dangerous and they wanted to exploit the chaos, or it was a false lead.

Regardless, he and Li Xinmei had to go, because this was an excellent opportunity to make a decisive move against Li Chen!

They just had to make more preparations this time.

In Russia.

On the East Siberian Plain, where temperatures are exceedingly low and living conditions are harsh, there are tribes that still exist by traditional nomadic means.

Within a wooden hut of one such tribe, which resembled a bar, people were wildly reveling, while an exceptionally burly man sat beside the bar looking like a seated Polar Bear.

"Brian, come on, have a drink!"

Someone nearby called him to drink, but Brian just shook his head.

A group of mercenaries was chatting close by, and the topic of their conversation was the Relic of Life deep within Mong Kok Forest.

"Have you heard? There’s supposedly an ancient relic in that godforsaken place in Myanmar."

"Haha, you believe in that crap? I say it’s just a tomb. We’re mercenaries, not goddamn tomb raiders."

"Damn it, Barber, if you interrupt me again before I finish speaking, I’ll blow your head off!"

"Try me," Barber did not back down either.

"Enough, what’s all the arguing about?" a third man said.

Then the original speaker continued, "This relic is different, I hear. There’s talk of things that can enhance one’s strength and secrets of longevity."

"Is it really that mystical?" the other mercenaries were also somewhat puzzled.

"Is the relic inside Huaxia?" one of the mercenaries asked.

The original speaker nodded, "Yes, Myanmar borders Huaxia."

"Well, then, I bet this is mostly likely true. That mysterious country in the East has had many secrets since ancient times. Anyway, we haven’t had any contracts recently, so why not go take a look? Maybe we can even snatch some good loot," he speculated.

Brian, listening to this conversation, silently took note of it, then stood up, left the wooden hut, and disappeared into the swirling snow.

In India.

In one of the royal palaces, it could be said to be the most luxurious palace in all of India, its grandeur even comparable to that of the Taj Mahal.

Within this palace, in a room filled with the strong scent of sandalwood incense, silence pervaded, save for the figure seated in meditation at the center, alone.

Brahma, one of the Twelve Main Gods, who was one of the two Main Gods that had battled Li Chen in North America last time!

Brahma opened his eyes, gazing at the burning incense. His eyes, however, were extremely unfocused:

The message should have been sent out by now.

...

Almost all the masters in the world had received this message through various channels, and as it was passed on, the details of the message grew more mythical. Eventually, it was said that the relic contained an Immortal Pill offering eternal life, as well as Pills that could render one invincible.

All sorts of masters, Mercenary Corps, assassins, and other organizations received this message. Some chose to wait and see, but most headed straight for Mong Kok Forest.

Whether the message was true or fake, coming to check it out would reveal the truth. If it was real, one could even fish out some treasures, so making the trip seemed worthwhile.

This was the mindset of most people, and in an instant, the situation became turbulent, like countless undercurrents were surging.

The Li Siblings and the Ghost King, too, were headed for Mong Kok Forest, but their primary goal was to kill Li Chen—that was their first priority.

It could be said that the majority of factions were converging on Mong Kok Forest, but Li Chen was utterly unaware of all this as he followed others towards the Primitive Forest.

The group arrived at the edge of the Primitive Forest, where a long, wide stream flowed. The guide smiled and explained, "This is a great spot for camping, with its spacious terrain, nearby water source, and beautiful scenery, not to mention it’s hardly crowded."

Everyone looked around and agreed it was indeed an excellent location and decided to set up camp there.
