"Who am I?" Shadow echoed the phrase, then a cruel smile spread across her face, "I was once a demon, and now I am an avenger who has crawled out from hell."

Lin Yi’s heart skipped a beat, but she remained composed, "Whom are you looking for?"

"Who else but you?" Shadow laughed heartily, not bothering to hide the cruelty on her face.

"Who in the world are you?" Lin Yi, seated at her position, felt increasingly nervous as Shadow stepped closer.

Standing before Lin Yi, Shadow looked down at her with an air of superiority, "I was once a demon under the King of the Netherworld’s command, but now, I will kill him with my own hands."

"King of the Netherworld?" Lin Yi was thoroughly perplexed.

"Who would have thought that the trap I laid with my own hands would actually come true? From now on, even the invincible King of the Netherworld has a vulnerability," Shadow guffawed. As Lin Yi pondered over these words, she suddenly recalled someone from a few months ago who had offered to save her business, someone whose voice sounded like the person before her.

"Is it you?" A flicker of surprise passed through Lin Yi’s eyes.

"It seems you have a good memory," Shadow’s expression returned to its cold demeanor, "You have become the King of the Netherworld’s weakness. I will take a knife and, in front of him, slowly carve open your face, causing you to be disfigured, then sever your veins and let your blood drain until you are dead. Toward the end, Shadow was almost roaring in Lin Yi’s face, but Lin Yi’s expression remained unchanged. Though a bit panicked inside, years of experience had left her remarkably calm.

"I don’t know the King of the Netherworld," Lin Yi shook her head.

"It seems he hasn’t told you, then," Shadow slowly moved behind Lin Yi’s seat, smiling coldly, and ran her ice-cold hand over Li Chen’s face, causing Lin Yi to shiver from the chill.

But Lin Yi dared not move; she felt a dangerous aura emanating from the other person, as if she could be killed at any moment.

The atmosphere in the office turned icy, and just at that moment, a knock sounded, followed by the voice of the secretary Tingting, "President Lin, there’s a document here that needs your signature."

Lin Yi intended to invite Tingting in, but the Shadow behind her suddenly lashed out, flinging a gleaming dagger that embedded itself in Lin Yi’s desk, startling her.
