Chapter 224: Chapter 202 Mysterious Marbles
Audrey had intended to deceive Li Chen and then call someone over while he was off guard, but seeing him so weak, her heart softened, and she wondered if he might not be a bad person after all—they didn’t seem as fierce as she thought.
"Are you, are you okay?" Audrey bent down, asking with a curious and cautious look on her face.
Li Chen, with his eyes closed, nodded. He had recovered significantly; in fact, the Pill he had taken earlier was effective, and he was almost back to normal now. Even the side effects of the Pill had been forcefully suppressed by him.
Audrey looked at Li Chen, who had his eyes shut and wasn’t speaking, clearly wanting to understand more, but at that moment, there came a round of shouting from downstairs.
"Audrey!"
Hearing this voice, Audrey’s delicate brows furrowed—it was that annoying guy again.
Hurriedly putting on her clothes, Audrey went downstairs, approached the door, and upon opening it, saw a young man with spiky yellow hair standing outside, chewing gum, with his arm resting against the wall.
The young man had a smile on his face, while Audrey scoffed coldly, flicking her hand, intending to shut the door.
"Hey," the young man held the door open with his hand, then said with a grin, "Audrey, want to go out tonight?"
"Who would go out with you?" Audrey attempted to close the door but to no avail, as she was a girl with less strength.
Still smiling and chewing gum, the young man said, "Audrey, I know you still like me in your heart. Come out with me tonight, I’ll make you happy."
"Bob, I’m saying it one more time, we’ve broken up, we have nothing to do with each other anymore. Also, don’t flatter yourself into thinking I still like you. I’m telling you, I don’t like you at all."
Audrey spoke loudly, and her voice reached Li Chen’s ears upstairs.
Bob pushed the door forcefully, slamming it against the wall with a "smack," tilted his head, and looked at Audrey, his expression turning cold.
"Audrey, I’m still your boyfriend." Bob stepped inside, forcing Audrey back. Bob was notably tall and looked very strong.
"The moment you said we were breaking up, you weren’t anymore," Audrey said coldly. "Now, get out of my house. Get out!"
"It was just a joke," shrugged Bob, "Every couple fights, but then they make up again."
"I won’t, not ever," Audrey was still extremely chilly. "You didn’t initiate the breakup, so I had to. The moment you flirted with another woman in front of me, hit me, that was when I wanted to leave you. Don’t be delusional here; I never want to see your face again."
Bob’s face finally turned cold. "No one has ever dared to speak to me like that, Audrey. I’m telling you, you can’t shake me off; I’ll stick to you."
"Get out!" Audrey pushed the door with both hands, trying to close it, but Bob suddenly threw a punch, hitting the door, startling Audrey.
Releasing his hand, Bob walked toward Audrey.
"Your uncle and aunt are not home, are they?" Bob looked at Audrey.
"What are you trying to do?" Audrey felt a bit panicked inside but still stared coldly at Bob. "If you dare to come in again, I will sue you for breaking and entering."
In North America, breaking and entering is a serious offense, so grave that the homeowner can shoot you and not carry any legal responsibility.
"Are you threatening me?" Bob sneered. "Today, I am going to have you!"
Seeing Audrey suddenly want to turn around and leave, Bob suddenly reached out and pulled her back.
Bob grabbed Audrey’s hair, rendering her unable to move.
Audrey gasped for breath, her eyes filled with defiance, trying to struggle and twist her head, only to find she couldn’t move at all. Bob’s strength was simply too great, and he suppressed her fiercely.
Bob looked at Audrey, who was close at hand, a smile appeared on his face, and his right hand squeezed her neck.
After speaking, he suddenly tore at Audrey’s clothes, and instantly, the top of her freshly dressed body was ripped open again, revealing her newly changed attire.
"Dressing so provocatively, where do you think you’re going?" Bob sneered coldly, and Audrey continued to struggle, but to no avail.
At that moment, Audrey drove her knee up forcefully, hitting Bob in the groin, and instantly, Bob let go in pain, collapsing to the ground.
Seeing Audrey trying to run, Bob’s face twisted with rage as he grabbed her legs and yanked them backwards!
"Ah!"
A scream escaped from Audrey’s lips. Bob crawled on top of her, his mouth twisting into a malicious grin, "Run, why don’t you run now?"
Meanwhile, upstairs, Li Chen witnessed everything that was happening.
Turning his head, he spotted a box of glass marbles on the corridor floor.
Bob looked at Audrey, then prepared to make his move.
But at that moment, a spinning glass marble shot out rapidly, and instantly, it struck Bob on the forehead.
"Ah!"
Bob’s head snapped back, the bead fell to the ground, but the pain it caused turned a small patch on Bob’s forehead red.
"Who?"
Bob’s gaze shot towards the second floor, but he found nothing. However, just as he lowered his head, another glass marble came flying and struck his forehead accurately.
Bob winced in pain again, already close to fury, "Get down here, or else when I come up you’ll be... Ah!"
Before he finished speaking, the glass marble hit him again, this time even worse, striking Bob directly on his teeth. Instantly, Bob felt his teeth loosen, as if they were about to fall out, and the pain spread throughout his mouth.
Damn it!
Bob, holding his mouth, stood up and looked toward the second floor, only to see several more marbles continue flying towards him.
Instantly, Bob’s expression changed, wanting to reach out to block them, but it was already too late. The marbles kept hitting his face, bringing intense pain, and the force that came with them pushed him back continuously.
The onslaught of marbles was relentless, and in an instant, Bob stumbled backward, his foot hitting the threshold, and he fell to the ground.
Getting up from the ground, Bob’s face was now a large patch of red, and when he looked up to the second floor again, his eyes carried a trace of fear.
