"What’s going on?" The village chief walked up to Li Chen, looking at him with confusion etched on his face. His village was the sort of place where birds didn’t even bother to defecate, and it was rare to see a stranger even once a month.

"Have there been any human traffickers coming to your village recently?" Li Chen asked, his eyes firmly fixed on the chief as he spoke.

The chief’s body visibly trembled, and just as he was about to vehemently deny it, Li Chen continued, "It’s okay, I’m not a cop. I’m just here to find someone."

This made the chief let out a sigh of relief, while Li Chen could now be certain that the chief had seen the trafficker.

"Is the human trafficker’s nickname Grey Mouse?" Li Chen asked.

The chief nodded, "He’s helped find wives for men in nearby villages."

"I’m looking for him," Li Chen said with a faint smile.

Upon hearing that it was the trafficker Li Chen was looking for, the chief replied, "He’s over there."

Yang Xin was still in the room, listening to the footsteps drawing nearer outside. She could no longer hold back the tears, wondering if she was doomed to spend the rest of her life there.

At that moment, Bucktooth once again approached the window and saw Yang Xin crying.

"Why the crying?" Bucktooth became anxious upon seeing Yang Xin’s tears, "What are you crying about?"

"Li Chen, I thought I’d never see you again," Yang Xin sobbed, feeling as if Li Chen’s embrace was the warmest place on Earth.

"Hey, who the hell are you? What are you doing with my merchandise?" Meanwhile, the trafficker outside saw Li Chen’s actions and became frantic.

Yet, Li Chen seemed not to hear Grey Mouse at all, continuing to comfort Yang Xin.

"Alright, I’ll take you out of here. You won’t stay in this room forever, will you?" Li Chen said with a smile.

Yang Xin hummed softly, and Li Chen immediately picked her up, carrying her in his arms, and walked towards the outside of the house. At this time, Grey Mouse hurriedly came over.

"What are you doing? What are you doing? Is there no rule, put her down now, if you don’t put her down, be careful I..."

Li Chen spoke indifferently, and then pressed Grey Mouse against the yellow mud wall, pulled a rope from the side, and hung him up.

Grey Mouse’s screams did not cause Li Chen to pause at all. Instead, he said indifferently, "If you scream again, I will break your other arm."
