Chapter 176: Chapter 155 I Won’t Let You Disappear

Lin Yi’s abrupt and intense kiss this morning lingered in Li Chen’s thoughts, the taste of his beautiful wife’s lips incredibly delightful.

With nothing else pressing to do, naturally, he set out to find his beautiful wife.

Pushing open the door, Li Chen chuckled to himself, yet the office was eerily empty, momentarily startling him.

Not in the office?

That wasn’t right, Lin Yi was usually in the office at this time, she must have gone to a meeting.

Thinking this, Li Chen sat down and began waiting for Lin Yi.

After about half an hour, having scanned everything on the desk, Lin Yi still hadn’t returned.

"This meeting is really taking forever; I’d better go check," he said to himself, reluctantly.

Li Chen walked out of the office and headed to the conference room, only to find it completely devoid of people.

At that moment, a bad feeling began to prick at his mind. No meeting, but no sign of her either? That was impossible. If Lin Yi had gone on a business trip, she would have told him.

With a frown on his face, Li Chen was approached just then by Lin Yi’s secretary.

"Tingting, have you seen President Lin?" Li Chen asked.

"No, didn’t President Lin not come to work today?" the secretary asked, puzzled. "I’ve got a few cases here for her too, but her phone is turned off."

Not come?

A stronger sense of foreboding surged within Li Chen. If Lin Yi didn’t come in, why had she said she was coming to work this morning?

In an instant, it dawned on Li Chen: Lin Yi was planning to leave!

With that thought, Li Chen suddenly sprinted toward the exit!

"What, what’s wrong?" Secretary Tingting called out curiously from behind, but Li Chen ignored her, panicked as he was. If his beautiful wife indeed planned to leave him, she’d certainly need to return to the villa to pack some belongings!

Li Chen dashed out of the building, at top speed, racing crazily toward the direction of the villa. Passersby could only see a blur flash by and then nothing at all.

Without any rest, mindful of nothing else, he ran straight back to the villa.

When he entered the hall, the villa was just as empty, devoid of any belongings.

Without a word, he hurried upstairs, only to find that Lin Yi was nowhere to be found.

Frowning, Li Chen racked his brain over Lin Yi’s whereabouts, but couldn’t come up with anything.

Returning to the hall, Li Chen sank back into the sofa. Just then, his eyes fell on a note on the table in front of him.

Picking it up, he recognized Lin Yi’s elegant handwriting, which read: "This is farewell, do not fret!"

Seeing the note confirmed Li Chen’s ominous feeling—Lin Yi had indeed left without a word.

Such a foolish girl!

Li Chen was overwhelmed with anxiety. Why did she suddenly leave?

Furrowing his brow, the immediate priority was to find Lin Yi but where could she have gone?

That’s right, Aunt Wang!

A spark lit in Li Chen’s mind; surely, Aunt Wang knew Lin Yi’s whereabouts. At once, he went to Aunt Wang’s room, but upon opening it, he saw that it too was empty.

Li Chen felt a profound sense of loss, reflecting on the morning when his beautiful wife had seemed a bit off. Why hadn’t he noticed then?

Feeling frustrated yet determined, Li Chen clenched his fists: "I won’t let you disappear like this, absolutely not!"

Thinking rapidly of several ways to proceed, Li Chen’s knitted brow suddenly relaxed. He should seek help from the police to check surveillance footage from bus stations and airports.

Without hesitation, Li Chen headed straight to the police station.

Inside, two officers were chatting when Li Chen burst in, startling them.

"Hey, you can’t just barge into a police station, you know?"

One officer frowned.

"I’m looking for Yu Yueying," Li Chen said quickly.

"She’s inside. What do you need her for?" asked another officer.

Without waiting to answer, Li Chen rushed in.

"Who is this guy," the startled officer muttered, following him, just as Li Chen found Yu Yueying.

"Li Chen?"

Yu Yueying, also taken aback by his sudden appearance, said, "What brings you here?"

Meanwhile, the following officer caught up: "Officer Yu, this man burst into the station claiming he needed to see you, do you know him?"

"I know him," Yu Yueying nodded.

Upon hearing her confirmation, the officer left. Meanwhile, a young officer at a nearby desk furrowed his brow, looking on as the two spoke.

"I need surveillance to find someone," Li Chen stated.

Seeing the urgency on Li Chen’s face, Yu Yueying immediately nodded.

"Of course!"

The young officer, who had been pursuing Yu Yueying for so long without any interest from her, felt bitter watching them interact so comfortably.

And from Yu Yueying’s demeanor, it seemed she even had a more positive impression of this man?

Jealousy surged in Fang Qing.

"Yu Yueying, surveillance can’t just be accessed casually," Fang Qing interjected.

"It’s fine, he’s a friend and has previously assisted the police," Yu Yueying said. She then proceeded to log into the surveillance system.
