Along the way, because of the playful remark Li Chen had made earlier, Qilin Princess was so irritated that she didn’t want to speak with him. However, when Li Chen asked about various pieces of information regarding Duan Ning, she still answered every question.

After walking for a while, the two arrived at an old street, which was considered the most ancient part of Linchuan City. Back when Linchuan City was just a small town, this was the center of the city. Although Linchuan City had since expanded and its economic center had shifted, this area remained one with a relatively large population.

"We’ve arrived," said Qilin Princess with a serious expression on her face.

Li Chen looked at the old-fashioned street ahead with confusion. It was a mix of residential and commercial zones, and it was not surprising for someone to hide here. It was clear that this was a cunning individual.

The crowdedness meant it was easy to hide, and furthermore, one could rest. Should Dragon Soul’s people come looking, an immediate escape was possible. "Don’t tell me you haven’t pinpointed his exact location to a specific room," Li Chen said, looking at the bustling crowd, somewhat speechless. With so many people, how am I supposed to find him?

"That apartment building ahead, on the third floor at the window of the room farthest to the right," Qilin Princess explained. "Knowing the location makes things easier," Li Chen said with a slight smile, then he started towards the apartment building.

"Hey, what are you doing? Don’t spook the snake; let’s come up with a plan first," Qilin Princess panicked. This mission was not like the others; Duan Ning was just too formidable, an elite within Dragon Soul. She had witnessed Duan Ning’s capabilities before. Why was this idiot being so impulsive?

Qilin Princess had partnered with Duan Ning on several missions before and knew him very well. There were numerous tough missions that had been made simple by Duan Ning’s hands. She vividly remembered one occasion where they encountered five experts from the Earth Ranking, and Duan Ning had easily taken care of them all.

Thus, it was evident that Duan Ning’s abilities were outstanding.

Yet, this fool was completely ignoring her words. Hadn’t she warned him to be careful before?

Seeing that Li Chen utterly disregarded her, Qilin Princess had no choice but to grit her teeth and follow him.

Meanwhile, Duan Ning was sitting by the window, holding a notebook that appeared to be transferring data, though it was progressing slowly, with only 30% completed so far. At the same time, he was scanning the area below.

Duan Ning had hung a piece of clothing by the window, ensuring he could observe the entering and exiting residents while remaining unseen by them. As for the residents within the building, he had memorized nearly all of them and would be on alert for any unfamiliar faces.

Just then, Duan Ning saw a man enter the apartment building, and a glint flashed in his eyes. Although he had never seen this man in Dragon Soul, the man’s steps and aura were very different from ordinary people’s.

"Checking the water meter," Li Chen said with a grin as Duan Ning was taken aback by how quickly the other man had arrived. Wasn’t he just downstairs a moment ago, and now suddenly at his door?

"Why the rush?" Li Chen smiled slightly, his right hand exerting force between two fingers, and the dagger clamped between them shattered instantly.

Duan Ning smiled equally, "Of course, there’s something."

As soon as the words were spoken, Duan Ning launched another attack, aiming straight for Li Chen’s head with a particularly vicious, claw-like hand, as if intending to gouge out Li Chen’s eyes.

But Li Chen managed to intercept Duan Ning’s attack mid-air, blocking with his left hand. When Duan Ning changed his technique to target Li Chen’s chest, it seemed that Li Chen had already anticipated the move he effortlessly countered it with a Hand Blade to the wrist, followed by an elbow strike, forcing himself to retreat.

"Haha, why would I go back?" Duan Ning’s gaze shifted to Qilin Princess, smiling slightly, "Since I dared to escape, naturally I won’t return, and besides, do you think, he alone can handle me?"

Duan Ning’s gaze turned towards Li Chen, filled with a hint of murderous intent.

Qilin Princess felt a chill in her heart, "Why bother, Duan Ning, after all, you’re a Dragon Soul member."

"I am no longer, being a Dragon Soul member is not as good as being free and happy on my own," Duan Ning spoke while looking at Qilin Princess, "Qilin Princess, are you sure you want to stop me?"

Qilin Princess was on full alert, "Dragon Soul has given the order, to bring you back!"

"Then it’s really a shame, soon there’ll be two more corpses here," Duan Ning shook his head.

Li Chen chuckled, "Really? Somehow I feel it’s you who will be lying down."

"Although you’re somewhat strong, you’re no match for me," Duan Ning extended his index finger and shook it, seeming to look down on Li Chen completely.

"Coincidentally, I don’t see you as an opponent either," Li Chen laughed, "Because to deal with you, one hand is all I need."

Duan Ning snorted coldly, "Interesting, I didn’t expect you to be more arrogant than me."

Li Chen didn’t reply, and in that instant, the temperature in the room seemed to drop, a murderous aura slowly spreading.
