My Fortune-Blessed Leading Lady -
Chapter 470: The reason I wasn’t interested in you is because you are too old.
Chapter 470: Chapter 470: The reason I wasn’t interested in you is because you are too old.
Her agent, Sister Ou, was not so optimistic, and she had reminded Ou Jinchu that Bo Yan, being one of the heirs of the Bo Family, would not have such patience.
For these young masters, born with silver spoons in their mouths, there was no such thing as making concessions, unless, you were truly the one they acknowledged; otherwise, no matter what wealthy planet you came from, they lacked neither money nor power. There was no reason for them to wait for you or accommodate you.
Ou Jinchu made a call to the hotel front desk to inquire if anyone was looking for or waiting for her.
The answers she received were all negative.
Suddenly, the front desk remembered something and said, "Miss Ou, earlier a luxury car was parked at the entrance of our hotel, but it left after just a few minutes."
After hanging up the phone, Ou Jinchu felt humiliated.
She had never lost face like this before and harbored intense hatred for Bo Yan.
Her agent wanted to comfort her but didn’t know what to say. In essence, the issue lay with Ou Jinchu herself, and now that Bo Yan had left, from the perspective of a bystander, one could hardly find fault with him.
With Bo Yan’s family background, he was not one to accommodate others, unless that person was worth it.
But to him, the current other party was just a stranger. Why should he accommodate a stranger?
Ou Jinchu had always been proud and was not the type to ingratiate herself with others.
Therefore, she could only stay in the hotel, frustrated.
Later, she received a call from her mother, "Chuchu, did you not meet with Bo Yan?"
Although Ou Jinchu was also a direct descendant of the Ou Family, the family’s expectations of their daughters were never any lower than those of their sons. If she could not bring any substantial benefits to the Ou Family, she would be cast aside.
At a very young age, Ou Jinchu had moved abroad, not by her own will but because she needed greater fame to seek benefits for the family. However, her overseas development over the years had not been as glamorous and successful as it seemed back home.
She had been compelled by reality to return home, and her father at home already had some complaints about her.
One of her mother’s friends said she could set up a connection with the children of the Bo Family, and with Ou Jinchu’s appearance and family background, it made no sense for the Bo Family to look elsewhere.
So, there was the arranged meeting with Bo Yan, following his mother’s instructions.
But no one expected that the well-planned meeting would be ruined by Ou Jinchu’s haughtiness.
Ou Jinchu held her phone indifferently, "No."
Her mother was anxious, "Just now my friend called me, saying you didn’t pick up Bo Yan’s call. Why is that? Chuchu, do you realize your current situation?"
Ou Jinchu remained silent and curled her lips, still in a bad mood.
On the other end, her mother let out a deep sigh, "My friend said that Bo Yan’s mother had called her, this arranged meeting has no follow-up."
Ou Jinchu: "..."
"Chuchu, do you understand what no follow-up means? Your sister is getting along warmly with a young man from the Si Family, and the whole family is now watching you, waiting to see you fail;
I am worried that you will be wronged. Marriage into the Bo Family would be the best thing for you, yet you...
Why would you do this?"
The connection to the Bo Family was not easily come by. With so many outstanding sons in the Bo Family, securing just one would mean a life of ease hereafter.
Why couldn’t her daughter understand the heart of her mother?
Ou Jinchu, "Mom, I just didn’t notice my phone. As a man, can’t he make a couple more calls?"
From the other end came a choke, and then, Ou Jinchu’s mother sighed, "Chuchu, you’re not young anymore. Our family’s children don’t need love. Do you know how hard it will be if you miss out on Bo San?"
Ou Jinchu didn’t want to listen to this and quickly made the excuse that she had to shoot her scenes and hung up on her mother.
...
On his way back, Bo San casually called Bo Yan, "I heard you took Zhizhi to see Little Ranran? I’m in Jiangcheng, not too far from you. Give me the address, I’ll come over and see Zhizhi."
Bo Yan didn’t say anything and simply hung up the call. Soon after, the address was sent to Bo San’s phone.
He navigated directly to another city.
Luckily, the distance between the two cities was not far, just a three-hour drive by car.
On the highway, his phone kept ringing nonstop. Glancing at the unknown number, he found it somewhat familiar. After careful thought, wasn’t this the very number that he hadn’t been able to get through to before?
Why are they calling now?
He didn’t want to answer, and besides, his mother had said to let it go this time.
He was never fond of these messy situations. If the other party didn’t answer his calls, naturally, he didn’t need to answer either.
Hang up.
Then, within a few minutes, his phone rang again. He didn’t even glance at it and directly hung up.
It seemed like the person on the other end also gave up and didn’t call again, which put Bo San in a better mood.
...
By the time he reached Yuran’s hotel, it was late at night. Bo Yan came down with Zhizhi’s hand in his to greet him. It was already past Zhizhi’s bedtime, but upon hearing that Bo San was coming to see him, he insisted on waiting for Bo San.
As soon as Bo San got out of the car, Zhizhi charged out like a little cannonball, his tiny body bundled up tightly as he buried himself in Bo San’s embrace, "Uncle San, Zhizhi missed you so much."
Bo San easily picked up Zhizhi and held him in his arms, affectionately tweaking his well-covered little face, "Such a sweet talker. Did you have candy just now?"
Zhizhi pouted his lips and swatted Bo San’s hand away, "Uncle San, Zhizhi doesn’t even like candy."
Carrying him over to Bo Yan, Bo San said, "Standing here with Zhizhi, aren’t you worried about being photographed? Are you planning to go public?"
Bo Yan raised an eyebrow but didn’t answer the question. Instead, he led them straight to Yuran’s suite. Entering the elevator, he said, "Yuran’s suite has only two rooms. Annan isn’t here, so later you and Zhizhi can sleep together, or do you want to get a separate room?"
Bo San refused, "How can that be? Zhizhi, is it okay with you if Uncle San sleeps with you?"
Zhizhi had no objection to this and nodded, "Sure."
"San ge, you’ve come." Yuran hadn’t rested and even ordered supper. As soon as Bo San entered the room, he was greeted by the aroma of food, followed by Yuran’s voice.
Bo San chuckled and weighed the Zhizhi in his arms, "Little Ranran, long time no see."
Yuran looked at Zhizhi, "Sweetie, can you come down, please? Uncle San has driven so far and needs to rest."
Zhizhi nodded understandingly, slid out of Bo San’s arms, and took his hand to walk to the living room, "Uncle San, mom has prepared supper for you. You should eat something quick."
Bo San laughed. While dining, Bo Yan showed his sharp-tongued nature, "I say, you didn’t come here to seek refuge, did you? I heard you went on a matchmaking date today. Is it over already? She didn’t like you?
Let me guess, she didn’t like you because you’re too old? Could be her dad, could you?"
Bo San almost spat out a mouthful of wine and, pointing at Bo Yan with his chopstick-wielding hand, said, "Xiaoqi, can you please watch your mouth?"
