My Fortune-Blessed Leading Lady
Chapter 448: Cute Zhizhi

Chapter 448: Chapter 448: Cute Zhizhi

Bo Yan was not trying to raise his son to be a momma’s boy; Zhizhi had his own thoughts and would not accept everything Yuran said wholesale.

He spent more time with his son compared to Yuran, and naturally, he did more in terms of educating and spending time with his son.

So, after listening to Zhizhi’s speech, Bo Yan quietly listened, hoping to hear his son’s ideas before asking questions to encourage reflection and thought.

After Zhizhi finished speaking, he turned over in his arms, knelt on his lap, and reached out to hold his face, his chubby little face opposite Bo Yan’s and very close.

"Dad, Zhizhi has finished speaking."

Bo Yan held his waist with his palm to stabilize his small body, "Sweetheart, then tell Dad, what is wrong with what Mom said?"

Zhizhi pursed his lips, thought for a while, and then began speaking in a babyish voice, "Dad, when Mom was at school, she gave birth to Zhizhi. Dad took care of Zhizhi while he was on leave;

So Dad and Mom divided their duties, Dad took care of Zhizhi, and Mom went to university. Zhizhi was also very good, growing up on his own."

When he heard the phrase "growing up on his own," Bo Yan somewhat questioned life.

Although his son had always been quiet and easy to care for from childhood, the idea of growing up by himself seemed a bit too much, didn’t it?

Bo Yan coughed once, preparing to guide his son, but the next words from his son warmed his heart immensely.

Zhizhi said, "Zhizhi knows, Dad taking care of Zhizhi has been very hard too. When Zhizhi grows up, he’ll treat Dad, Mom, Grandpa, and Grandma very well.

Zhizhi will give Dad money, let Dad take Mom to buy lots and lots and lots of things Mom likes to eat, and Dad can buy lots and lots of things he likes to eat, too."

Bo Yan looked at his son’s bright, clear eyes and smiled, "Dad and Mom hope Zhizhi grows up happily, doing what he likes, and then becomes a man of integrity, responsibility, and conviction;

Dad is Mom’s husband, and Mom is Dad’s wife, and we are the ones who accompany each other the longest. Dad and Mom can’t stay with Zhizhi forever, we can only accompany Zhizhi for a very short part of his journey until Zhizhi grows up and leaves Dad and Mom."

Zhizhi was somewhat resistant to this topic as it was premature for him at the moment, but Bo Yan didn’t allow him to avoid it, holding Zhizhi’s little head, "Zhizhi, sweetheart, Dad knows you don’t want to hear this, but you need to learn to grow up."

Zhizhi blinked his eyes and suddenly said wistfully, "Dad, Zhizhi doesn’t quite want to grow up, wants to stay with Dad and Mom."

Bo Yan laughed, "We’ll accompany Zhizhi as he grows up, and Zhizhi can accompany Dad and Mom as they grow old, okay?"

Zhizhi, in his innocence, asked, "Dad, when Zhizhi grows as big as Dad, will Dad get sick like Grandpa?"

The last time they were at Grandpa’s house, Grandpa was sick, constantly coughing. Grandma said that after Grandpa retired last year, his health had declined.

Bo Yan was stunned, "Grandpa was sick?"

Zhizhi nodded seriously, "Grandma said, after Grandpa retired, he often had some minor ailments, and she told me not to tell Dad because she was afraid Dad would worry."

Zhizhi was young, but had good expressive ability, a strong memory, and was clever and sharp-witted.

Bo Yan didn’t dwell too much on this topic; he just had a serious and equal conversation with Zhizhi, treating him as an equal.

After calming Zhizhi down, he then returned to his room.

As soon as he opened the door, he saw Yuran standing in the corridor outside, her face half-hidden in the shadows under the wall lamp, smiling, her eyes bright. Bo Yan gently closed the door and walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her waist, "Why haven’t you gone to sleep?"

"I woke up when you came in, feeling a little jealous."

Bo Yan couldn’t help but laugh, "I’m usually the one jealous of our son, since when did you start getting jealous over him?"

Yuran let his arms stay wrapped around her waist as they walked towards the room, laughing, "It feels like Zhizhi and you, brother Qi, have lots of little secrets from me. Why does Zhizhi say, ’I am baby’?"

Speaking of that, Bo Yan couldn’t help but burst into laughter, "Baby, you’re not going to demand that I explain everything from one to three just because of that, are you? Just now, I heard something from Zhizhi."

"What?"

"Baby, tell me, am I also not a competent son? I didn’t even know about dad’s illness until I heard it from Zhizhi’s lips."

"Dad is sick?" Yuran was also anxious, quickly grabbing his arm.

Bo Yan shook his head, "Maybe it’s just some occupational ailments, but my dad is a retired soldier, and as he gets older, those old injuries start troubling him. I’ve never really sat down and talked with him. He was busy; later on, I was busy."

The father-son relationship was actually good, but they just never managed to find the time.

Yuran squeezed his hand, "Brother Qi, how about we visit the old mansion every week from now on?"

Bo Yan looked down at her face, so close to his, and laughed, then nodded, "Okay, thank you."

"Between spouses, why the need for thanks?"

After the bedroom door closed, Yuran was pinned against the door by Bo Yan and kissed. Her pajamas were thin, easily letting her feel the warmth of his body.

...

Thump thump thump...

"Daddy, mommy, Zhizhi is hungry..." Outside the master bedroom, Zhizhi had hesitated for a long time before finally knocking on the door of his parents’ room with a pitiful call.

The little guy couldn’t understand why, at this hour, his usually early-rising parents were still not up. Could it be that they overslept?

Zhizhi was initially hesitant about knocking, but finally, his hunger got the better of him, and he knocked.

Inside the master bedroom, the light was dim as the blackout curtains tightly shielded any outside light. Yuran, still groggy, snuggled closer into Bo Yan’s embrace and pushed gently against his bare chest, "Brother Qi, it’s so noisy."

Bo Yan was also sound asleep, but upon hearing this, he listened intently and heard his son’s pitiful voice outside. He checked his phone, and instantly woke up. He kissed Yuran on the forehead, got out of bed carefully, and tucked her in properly.

After putting on his home clothes, he went to open the bedroom door and scooped up his son standing outside. Zhizhi stretched his neck to look inside but was stopped by Bo Yan, "Baby, mommy is still sleeping. Can you keep it down for mommy?"

"Sorry daddy, Zhizhi was so hungry that he had to knock on the door of your room."

"Zhizhi doesn’t need to apologize. It’s daddy who should apologize. Breakfast time was missed because daddy didn’t get up."
