Chapter 340: Chapter 340: Baby, Tonight, There Will Be More
When Yuran learned from Qi Younian that Kang Zhenyu wanted to sign Meng Qiuyan, she was overjoyed. She’d had this inclination while she was on the set of "Emperor Shun of Tang," but unfortunately hadn’t had the chance to talk to Meng Qiuyan. Now with Brother Kang stepping in, the outcome was bound to be better than if she’d done it herself.
Qi Younian also mentioned over the phone that the managerial contract might involve a considerably large sum of money.
Yuran’s reaction was just as he had expected, she didn’t care about the money at all. In her own words, if she could sign Meng Qiuyan, those penalties for breaking the contract wouldn’t even count as money.
Meng Qiuyan was definitely worth much more than any penalty fee.
After hanging up with Qi Younian, Yuran’s gaze swept over to Bo Yan, who had just stepped out of the bathroom wrapped in a bathrobe. She swiftly tossed her phone on the bed and dashed towards him. With a leap, she clung onto Bo Yan.
Bo Yan caught her effortlessly, allowing her legs to wrap tightly around his waist. He raised an eyebrow, curious at her excited demeanor, "What’s got you so happy?"
She leaned in and kissed him on the eye, "Qi Ge, my studio is getting ready to sign Meng Qiuyan! I’ve dreamed of signing her."
Bo Yan’s expression collapsed instantly, his eyes narrowing dangerously. However, the person lost in her own imagination was completely oblivious to how dangerous the man she was holding could be.
She continued to prattle on, "I have an ideal, which is to make my studio rise to prominence within the circle. When people mention Ran Studio, they should immediately think, ’Ah yes, quality assured.’
I want the artists I sign to have their own scripts and publicity in their future planning. And it’s not just about popularity, but more importantly, about talent."
It was the first time he seriously listened to her talk about her ideals. Bo Yan found it novel, and the displeasure he felt was quickly suppressed by her joy. He sat on the bed, cradling her in his arms, listening to her talk about her future plans.
But she never mentioned him once throughout.
This really irked him. After Yuran finished speaking and didn’t receive a reply from Bo Yan, she looked up at him timidly, with a nervous chuckle, "Qi Ge, I haven’t forgotten about you."
"Oh?"
His tone sarcastic, it left Yuran somewhat at a loss. She cupped his face, staring at him seriously, "You’re the God of Words etched into my bones; you’re different from everyone else. Even if I don’t mention you, you’re always in my heart."
The sudden confession caught Bo Yan completely off guard. He saw the candidness in the young girl’s expression and knew that she was speaking her truest thoughts.
He leaned in slightly, pressing his forehead to hers, "Instead of thinking so far ahead, why not consider how we’ll spend tomorrow, baby? I’m not planning on waiting any longer."
Yuran’s face turned a shade pinker. At his words, her eyelashes fluttered lightly, but her gaze remained steadfastly on him, "I know, and I’m not thinking of... evading."
"Heh heh..." Bo Yan laughed pleasantly, "So, baby, you’re saying you’re ready, right?"
"Mhm!"
Bo Yan played with her waist-length hair, which mischievously danced in his hands. He rested his chin on her shoulder, his lips brushing her earlobe, "Baby, I’m taking you on vacation tomorrow, just for two days, alright?"
"Don’t you have work?" Yuran first perked up, then deflated with regret.
Bo Yan laughed softly, "Our wedding night is naturally different from others’. I want to take you somewhere else to do something as ceremonial as this."
Yuran’s face flushed, her eyes darting around uncertainly, "I, I, I—You, you, you just decide, it’s fine. If you really can skip going to the set, where will you take me?"
"To the seaside... Let’s have a short honeymoon first."
He looked at her apologetically, Yuran leaning her forehead against his, their eyelashes brushing together, their breaths intertwining in an amorous haze. Illuminated by the flickering light, it was as if they were in a dreamlike illusion.
It felt somewhat unreal.
"Bo Yan, you are wonderful. As long as we’re together, anywhere can be our honeymoon."
"Sweet-talking me to make me happy?"
Yuran shook her head. "Of course not. I know you don’t like such things, and I don’t like saying them, but isn’t it nice to say them occasionally and make you happy? It’s the spice of a marital relationship."
"Pfft..." Bo Yan laughed joyfully and freed a hand that was holding her to pinch her chin, followed by a kiss that was as tender as if he were touching something precious. He kissed her very carefully.
Yuran wrapped her arms around his neck, responding slowly, which was undoubtedly like adding fuel to the fire, igniting him completely.
When she was finally pinned down and lost all sense of reason, Yuran secretly thought, I seem to have forgotten something.
Waking up the next day, she saw the numerous kiss marks on her neck and her face turned crimson. Her eyes widened, and just then, the room door was pushed open from the outside, and Bo Yan’s tall and lean figure entered her view.
Seeing Yuran awake with a dazed expression, he found it amusing. He was carrying a tray with a sandwich and a cup of warm milk in his hand.
He strode over, pulling the young girl from the blankets into his arms, "Why be shy? I’ve placed your breakfast here. Eat and then sleep some more, okay? I’m heading to the set."
Yuran suddenly threw off the blankets and looked at him with an expression of betrayal. Bo Yan, puzzled, asked, "What’s wrong?"
Yuran clutched his shirt front, her face full of accusation, and sobbed, "You said you would take me out to play today. You broke your promise."
"Pfft..." Bo Yan couldn’t help but laugh, rubbing her head with a large hand, "Who said I’m going back on my word? I’m going to ask for leave. We have a flight at three in the afternoon. I’ll try to come back early, okay?"
Realizing her big blunder, she buried herself back into the blankets like an ostrich, wrapping herself up tightly, not allowing Bo Yan to see her.
Bo Yan cajoled her from the outside, gently tempting her. Seeing that Yuran had no intention of coming out, he chuckled and didn’t force her, "Then I’ll head to the set first and call you later."
Still no movement.
He sighed, got up, ready to leave, but as soon as he pulled the door open, a little girl poked half her head out from under the blankets, her eyes moist as she called out to him, "Bo Yan..."
Bo Yan paused mid-step, glanced over slightly, and saw her pleading eyes peeking out from under the cover, round and accusatory. He was torn between laughter and tears and returned to her, scooping her and the blanket into his arms, "Did I make you feel wronged last night?"
We’ve not even gone all the way yet.
Yuran shook her head firmly, "No, that’s not it."
Bo Yan nodded, "Then why don’t you want to talk to me?"
Yuran shook her head again, "It’s not that I don’t want to talk to you, I just... just... feel a little embarrassed. Just look at my neck."
As she spoke, she lifted the blanket, revealing a trail of kiss marks that caught Bo Yan’s attention. His deep pupils darkened, he quickly adjusted her clothing properly and said in a husky voice, "Baby, tonight, there will be even more."
