My Fortune-Blessed Leading Lady -
Chapter 144: Understood Too Well
Chapter 144: Chapter 144: Understood Too Well
Not wanting to continue to embarrass herself here, she pushed down the humiliation of today and turned to leave.
Zhou Jingjing became much quieter, and before leaving, she looked at Yuran and asked thoughtfully, "Does this have nothing to do with you?"
Yuran laughed, "Do I have that much influence? Enough to get both of you eliminated? Don’t overestimate me."
In the nitty-gritty, it was actually apparent that it indeed had little to do with Yuran. Even if Yuran had talent, she couldn’t possibly manipulate the people at RSM, right?
Ye Wen could be arrogant and domineering because she had a father of prestigious status, but she didn’t, but that didn’t mean, she wouldn’t hold a grudge against Yuran.
After the two left, Annan whispered gossip to Yuran, "It seems that, out of nowhere, we’ve made enemies of two people, one with no small background. According to Ada’s tone, she’s probably one of the directors at RSM."
Yuran wasn’t concerned, continuing to focus on the script in her hands, but she still answered Annan’s comment, "That’s why you need to pay more attention to these issues. You have a long road ahead of you, young lady."
Annan had also noticed this problem and nodded, "Indeed, don’t worry, I will work hard."
She decided to go home and have her brother give her a crash course, and possibly ask him some questions. Although her family was not related to this field, social class, after all, had its connections.
Three minutes later, Yuran was the first to enter the auditioning conference room.
It was a large, tiered conference room with a small stage in it, a perfect place for auditions. Once the lights came on, the atmosphere was instantly set.
Xuan Ze nodded at her and said, "Wait a moment," then he whispered something to Ada. Ada looked startled at first but then walked out the door. It wasn’t long before Zhou Lianjia and Zu Shiting were both brought in by her from the outside.
Yuran immediately understood Xuan Ze’s intention.
Zhou Lianjia and Zu Shiting, who came in, didn’t understand and both looked somewhat bewildered.
Ada led them onto the stage, standing alongside Yuran, and then returned to Xuan Ze’s side. Xuan Ze was sitting next to director Austin, RSM’s Art Director Duan Chen, and six or seven other people who would likely be part of the crew.
All eyes were on the three people on the stage; aside from Yuran, the other two looked somewhat uneasy.
Austin was very interested in Yuran and commented softly, "Tang, have you noticed? That girl named Yuran seems incredibly composed, quite unlike a newcomer."
He had noticed, long before.
Duan Chen looked at Yuran with interest as well. He had reviewed her profile; she was a talent. Such a talent would stand out even in a large company like RSM.
Who would have thought she could act as well!
A surprise indeed.
Xuan Ze grabbed the microphone and began, "The three of you must be curious why you were brought here together, right?"
Zhou Lianjia and Zu Shiting didn’t speak.
Yuran waited and, seeing that no one else seemed inclined to speak, took the initiative, "I can guess a little."
Xuan Ze made a sound of acknowledgment, locking eyes with Yuran, "Then tell us."
Yuran, "Auditioning together enhances the visual contrast, finding faults and strengths, comparing overall to see who is more suitable for the role you have written, or shall I say, your mother."
A work created with such dedication, the last person who would want to see it ruined is its creator, Xuan Ze.
Xuan Ze was momentarily taken aback before he laughed, a laugh that was both unexpected and yet made perfect sense, "Yuran, you’re quite a pleasant surprise."
Yuran kept a straight face, "Then I’ll take that as a compliment."
Austin laughed heartily, his interest in Yuran growing even more.
