My five ghostly husbands -
Chapter 250 Fun time
Chapter 250: Chapter 250 Fun time
They all stood quietly for a moment, taking in the strange beauty before them.
The ocean stretched wide and endless...its water a deep, vivid red, like liquid garnet under the sky. The waves rolled in gently, glowing brighter where the sun touched them. It should have looked terrifying, but somehow, it didn’t. It looked beautiful. Like magic.
Karl squinted at the horizon, then looked at Ruby with suspicion in his voice.
"Wife... If we go inside with our robes on, no one’s gonna scold us, right?"
Ruby chuckled softly, shaking her head. "No one will. Just go have fun."
That was all Karl needed to hear.
"Then I’m going!!" he declared proudly, lifting the edge of his robe and charging into the water with a triumphant shout.
The others followed Milo first, laughing as he splashed after Karl, then Julian with a soft smile, holding his robe slightly to avoid tripping. Adrian walked in last, quiet and calm, letting the waves soak the hem of his robe without complaint.
Ruby stood near the shore watching them all, arms crossed lightly, her heart full.
The beach air was fresh. The sky was bright.
Ruby sat down quietly on a smooth stone near the shore, the salty breeze brushing her cheeks as she pulled her knees up to her chest. The sky above was unusually clear, painted in soft hues of white and blue, and the waves of the red sea shimmered like glass with every ripple.
She rested her chin on her knees, arms wrapped loosely around them, and simply watched.
Her husbands had started playing in the shallow water nearby. Karl, of course, was leading the chaos—splashing at Milo and shouting things like "Take that, water goblin!" as if they were in a pretend battle. Milo laughed so hard he almost fell face-first into the sea.
Julian was trying to keep things calm but ended up getting dragged into their silly game anyway, and soon he was laughing too, his robe half-soaked. Adrian stood a little farther back at first, arms crossed, pretending to be uninterested but even he couldn’t resist for long. A quiet smirk tugged at his lips before he suddenly bent down and splashed Karl right in the face.
That started a war.
Ruby smiled, her eyes soft and dreamy. Her heart felt full.
In this strange, magical world with a red sea, twisted trees, and somehow... she had made a life. A beautiful one.
A home.
And as she sat there, surrounded by laughter, she didn’t say anything. She didn’t need to.
Just watching them happy, childish, free was enough to bring tears to her eyes.
She leaned her head gently to the side and whispered to herself, "I think... I’m really not alone anymore."
And the red waves kept dancing in front of her, like they were celebrating her quiet joy.
Ruby sighed, completely helpless.
All four of her husbands were dripping wet—robes clinging to their bodies, teeth chattering slightly from the breeze. They looked like scolded children, each of them with a guilty expression as they glanced at her, hoping she wouldn’t be too mad.
"Unbelievable," she muttered under her breath, though the corners of her lips twitched with amusement.
The beach area was lively and well-developed, with a line of small shops and stalls nearby. One of the stalls caught her eye—it was selling beachwear. Not bikinis or trunks like in her old world, but light, flowing robe-like clothes made from thin fabrics, breezy and comfortable. Almost like a fusion of ancient and modern.
It reminded her of her old world’s beach clothes.
She paused, a thoughtful spark in her eyes.
Snapping out of her idea, she pointed toward the shop. "Go get changed before you catch a cold."
The boys didn’t argue. They shuffled toward the changing rooms quickly. After a while, they came out in those light robes—still adjusting their belts, drying their hair, but looking much more comfortable. Even Adrian, who always wore dark fitted clothes, looked surprisingly relaxed in a pale-grey loose robe.
Ruby glanced at them quietly.
Karl, who once called her a "stupid wife" on the first day they met.
Julian, who never paid her much attention and barely even looked at her.
Adrian, who used to stare coldly, like he didn’t even recognize her as family.
And now... they were all by her side.
Their eyes searched for her, they followed her lead, and she could feel their care in the small ways they moved around her. It was... comforting.
"Let’s go eat something," Ruby said at last, her voice soft.
The four ghosts perked up instantly.
And just like that, she led them to a nearby restaurant with an open-air seating area. The warm sea breeze carried the scent of grilled vegetables and baked bread, and Ruby found them a spot by the window—where they could still see the red waves rolling in the distance.
A new memory was about to begin.
The open-air restaurant had a cozy charm—wooden tables shaded with purple leafy canopies, a soft hum of music playing in the background, and a clear view of the red-tinged ocean dancing in the distance.
Ruby settled into her seat, smoothing the edges of her robe as she glanced at the four chairs around her.
Milo was the first to sit beside her—of course. His eyes sparkled as he looked at the menu, almost drooling already.
Karl sat across from her, stretching his arms behind his head dramatically. "I hope they have royal dishes. I need something rich. Full of flavor. Fit for perfect actor like me," he declared, loud enough for the next table to hear.
Adrian rolled his eyes as he pulled his chair out silently and sat down with practiced grace, his dark robe fluttering slightly with the breeze. He didn’t even look at the menu—just stared at the distant sea like he was memorizing it.
And Julian... walked in a little later with his hair still slightly damp. He sat beside Karl, close but quiet, and gave Ruby a soft smile.
Milo tugged Ruby’s sleeve excitedly. "Wife! Wife! Look! They have rainbow noodles! Can I have them?"
"Yes, Milo baby. Get what you like," she said with a soft chuckle.
