Chapter 195 Fat karl
Chapter 195: Chapter 195 Fat karl
Ruby walked behind Karl, watching as he lazily strolled toward his room, not even sparing her a glance.
"Don’t you feel like you need to work in life?" she asked, her arms crossed.
Karl yawned mid-step, not even bothering to turn his head.
Though he sometimes felt useless, he also loved being lazy and that made him happy.
"No," he replied flatly, continuing toward his room.
Ruby frowned.
"Wait, wait—"
Before he could escape, she grabbed his wrist, forcing him to stop.
Karl turned, his face grumpy, his half-lidded eyes glaring at her like a disturbed house cat.
"What do you want?" he groaned.
Ruby smirked, tilting her head. "Don’t you think you need work in your life? Like actual hard work? You sit and sleep all day—your blood probably isn’t even circulating properly!"
Karl blinked slowly. "No."
"Let me go."
He tried to pull away, but Ruby wasn’t letting this go.
Seeing that he wasn’t even paying attention, she decided to change tactics.
She narrowed her eyes, looking him up and down.
And then, with a perfectly calm voice—
"Oh yeah, that’s why you’re becoming fat."
"...."
The air froze.
Karl’s body stiffened.
Slowly—very slowly—his eyes widened.
His head snapped toward her, his face twisting in pure, undeniable horror.
"WHAT."
Ruby took a small step back as Karl’s entire demeanor changed.
His laziness? Gone.
His calm attitude? Completely erased.
Instead, his eyes flared with rage, his hair bristling like an angry cat.
"Did you just call me FAT?!"
His voice cracked slightly.
Ruby smirked and crossed her arms. "I mean... am I wrong?"
"YOU—!"
Karl’s hands shook as he looked down at himself, as if checking for any signs of weight gain.
His entire existence had been challenged.
Ruby knew exactly what she had done and she had no regrets.
Karl was indeed gaining a little weight.
But that didn’t mean Ruby had the right to call him fat!
"I am NOT fat!" he shouted, his voice full of righteous anger.
His arms crossed tightly over his chest, his face flushed with frustration. "If you call me fat again, I will TEACH YOU A LESSON!"
His threat might have been effective...
If not for the fact that, at that exact moment—
He heard laughter.
Soft, stifled laughter.
Karl froze.
Slowly, he turned his head—and saw Milo, covering his mouth, his shoulders shaking as he tried (and failed) to hold in his laughter.
Karl’s soul shattered.
His eyes widened in horror.
Was he really that fat?!
Even MILO was laughing at him?!
A lump formed in his throat.
And then his eyes filled with tears.
Before Ruby or Milo could react—
"WOOOOOOOOOOO!! OOOO!!!"
A full, dramatic meltdown.
Karl threw his head back and CRIED.
Loud. Unfiltered. Earth-shaking.
His entire body trembled as rivers of tears poured down his face, his sobs so powerful they echoed through the house.
Ruby instantly covered her ears.
"Agh—Karl! Stop crying so loudly!"
Milo, who had just been laughing, was now covering his own ears in pain. "Wife! You broke him!"
Karl ignored them both.
"HOW COULD YOUUUUU!!!" he wailed, his voice cracking like a tragic opera singer.
Ruby sighed deeply, rubbing her forehead.
She had poked the wrong bear.
Or rather the wrong overly dramatic, overly sensitive housecat.
The sound of Karl’s wailing was so dramatic that it shook the entire house.
Hearing the chaos, Julian and Adrian rushed over, alarmed.
"What happened?! What’s going on?!" Julian asked, looking between Ruby, Milo, and the sobbing mess that was Karl.
Adrian crossed his arms, his sharp gaze flickering to Karl’s tear-streaked face. "Why is he crying like that?"
Milo, still covering his ears, innocently explained—
"Brother Karl is crying because he gained weight."
Silence.
Julian and Adrian both turned to Karl, their expressions unreadable.
Karl’s tears kept falling, but his cries slowly quieted as he stared at them, waiting for them to deny it.
Tell him it wasn’t true.
Tell him Milo was wrong.
But instead—
"It’s okay, Brother Karl," Julian said, trying to sound supportive. "You can lose weight by exercising with Wife. She exercises every morning."
Adrian nodded in agreement. "That’s true. If you join Ruby, you’ll be fine."
Karl: "...."
Karl’s breath hitched.
His lips trembled.
His entire world shattered.
So he really had gained weight.
The truth had been confirmed.
Karl let out a broken, tragic gasp, clutching his chest.
"NOOOOOOOOO!!!"
And then he collapsed onto the floor, wailing even louder.
Bro, how dramatic do you want this cry to be?! Ruby thought, staring speechlessly at Karl, who was now rolling on the floor like a heartbroken child.
His wails echoed through the house, his hands clutching his chest like he had just received the biggest betrayal of his life.
His tears flowed like a waterfall.
His voice shook with despair.
"HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN TO ME?! I WAS SO YOUNG... SO BEAUTIFUL...!!"
Ruby massaged her temples.
"Someone. Stop. Him."
Immediately, Milo and Julian jumped into action.
"Brother Karl! It’s okay, don’t cry!" Milo said, frantically patting Karl’s head like he was trying to calm down a dramatic cat.
Julian, on the other hand, grabbed Karl’s shoulders and shook him gently.
"Karl! You can just exercise with Wife! You’ll lose weight in no time!"
Karl sniffled, his lips quivering. "R-Really?"
Julian nodded quickly. "Yes! And Ruby is strong, so she’ll make sure you don’t stay lazy!"
Karl stopped crying for a second. He slowly turned his red, teary eyes to Ruby.
Ruby, who did not sign up for this responsibility, just stared back at him.
"..."
Karl sniffled again, his voice weak. "Wife... will you help me...?"
Ruby exhaled deeply, looking up at the ceiling.
She crossed her arms, narrowing her eyes at Karl. "Fine. But if you try to be lazy—"
Karl immediately sat up, saluting. "I will work hard, Wife!"
Julian and Milo sighed in relief.
Adrian, watching from the side, just shook his head.
"Dramatic as always."
Ruby crossed her arms, her red eyes gleaming with cleverness as she looked at Karl.
"But I have a better plan for you, Karl."
Karl blinked, his tears forgotten in an instant. "Huh?"
