My Favorite Game Followed Me! -
Chapter 480
Anton activated all of his defensive buffs like his Energy Shield, Frozen Armor, Bone Armor, and everything that he could activate. Instead of walking, he started to fly using his Telekinesis spell to avoid traps that could be activated by stepping on them, and then he moved forward slowly, since he still didn’t know how powerful the monsters that he could encounter on this floor could be.
He reached a part of the corridor that had two entrances, one to the left and one to the right. Since it did not matter which way he went, he decided then that he would always select the left entrances.
Anton knew that a way to solve any maze was to select a specific side and stick with it. Flying slowly to the left, he felt a little exhilarated. Not knowing what enemies he would encounter brought excitement, and he only felt it while playing DnD games. He knew that the main reason why he was excited was because of the possible danger that he might encounter while exploring the dungeon floor.
He hadn’t experienced this excitement when he was with the beginner group because Anton knew that nothing could threaten him in the beginner dungeon.
Anton did have an idea that he might still be overpowered compared to this floor, but the fact that this dungeon was considered a high-level dungeon, there was an inherent danger that was associated with the information. Even if this specific floor was still “easy” for him, Anton knew that the subsequent floors would finally be dangerous enough for him to take the enemies seriously.
He also considered the fact that his Diablo II system considered this floor high-level enough for him to earn experience to level up his Ladder Barbarian character.
Anton finally arrived at a junction that was very large and saw three minotaurs waiting. The minotaurs were gigantic, standing at three meters and were holding large axes on their hands.
He knew that this fight was going to be a little easier because of the fact that he could fly. The chamber housing the three minotaurs was huge enough that Anton could stay out of reach above the monsters and just bombard them with spells.
Without further ado, Anton flew near the huge monsters. When the three minotaurs saw him, the monsters became alert and growled at him. It was an impotent threat because he was very high above them.
To test his spells, Anton cast a single Ice Bolt toward one of the minotaurs. When he saw that the bull monster was severely hurt, he concluded there was no danger for him on this floor. He immediately killed the three minotaurs by casting the Chain Lightning spell on them a few times until the monsters stopped moving. It only took three castings of the said spell before the monsters met their demise.
Anton immediately tagged the monsters with the portal key since, according to the quest's booklet, the minotaur’s horn was one of the items that he could submit to complete a quest. He needed to complete a hundred gold-level quests as soon as possible so he could go down and fight more powerful enemies.
He removed the minotaurs’ horns by using a shard of Ice Bolt that he controlled using his Telekinesis to act as a knife and the fact that he leveled up his Ice Bolt to the maximum level meant that the shard was extremely sharp. It was able to cut the horns from the monsters’ corpses without any issues and using Telekinesis allowed Anton to avoid touching any of the monsters’ gross parts like their flesh and blood.
Anton cleaned the horns using his Cleaning spell and stored them in his inventory. He knew that this floor would be a little boring due to the fact that he was overpowered compared to the monsters of this floor, so he decided that he wouldn’t personally act anymore and just use his summons to deal with all the monsters.
He waited until the corpses disappeared and was surprised to see a medium mana stone appear. Anton wondered if it was because of his Shako that provided the increased luck in getting loot. He didn’t have any idea, and he felt a little lazy testing it out. He also wasn’t aware of how much loot a typical diver would receive from this dungeon, so he didn’t have even a base data that he could use to start experimenting.
After that, Anton checked the experience bar in his Ladder Barbarian stat sheet to check how much experience the three minotaurs gave him and saw that he earned just a minute amount of points. Considering that his barbarian was level one, it meant that the experience points on this floor were almost negligible, but even mosquitoes were meat, so he was still glad that he was earning experience points.
The next thing Anton did was to summon all of his Druid summons, including the Dire Bear. He would use the wolves and the raven to deal with the dungeon monsters, and would use the bear as a ride.
Anton moved on with his summons ahead of him. He was surprised at how lethal some of the traps were because a wolf suddenly died ahead but he just resummoned the dead Spirit Wolf and continued moving forward.
He felt goosebumps on his skin when some of his wolves kept dying from traps. Considering the fact that his summons were all max level, they were all incredibly powerful and tanky. That meant that the traps were incredibly lethal, probably more so than the actual monsters on this floor.
The next enemies they encountered were seven stone pythons. The five dire wolves, five spirit wolves, and five ravens made short work of the monsters but Anton did activate his Fanaticism aura and that made all of his summons incredibly powerful.
Anton tagged all of the stone python’s corpses with his warp key because his quest booklet indicated that the stone python’s hearts were also quest items that he could submit. He was feeling truly lazy, so instead of retrieving the stone pythons’ hearts using his Telekinesis spell, he summoned the Valkyrie from his Amazon’s Passive and Magic skill tree and commanded it to retrieve the stone pythons’ hearts. When all of the stone pythons disappeared, another medium mana stone appeared.
Just a couple of fights and Anton had already earned a couple of thousand gold coins. He realized that dungeon diving was truly a lucrative job, but considering the danger, the earnings should rightly be so.
At least the stone pythons’ hearts didn’t need to be cleaned, so Anton stored them immediately in his inventory. He decided not to dispel the Valkyrie and would use it like a servant to retrieve the loot from the monsters.
They arrived at the next chamber, and there, Anton saw that the next monsters that he would have to deal with were cyclops. There were five of them, and the loot that he needed from the cyclops was their eyes.
The wolves, ravens, and the Valkyrie moved forward to deal with the monster. His summons were incredibly powerful because not only were their level the maximum level plus the levels that all of his items provided, which were the gears that he was wearing in-game and the one he was currently wearing in real life, the summons were also supported by his Fanaticism Aura. That meant that the monsters didn’t even last even a minute before they were all dead.
Anton commanded the Valkyrie to retrieve the cyclops’ eyes after the corpses were tagged by the portal key. Then Anton waited for the cyclops’ corpses to disappear, and voila, another medium mana stone appeared.
