Anton and the old archmage Tobias ate at a nearby restaurant. Because of how delicious the food was, his intention to continue asking the mage questions was stalled since both of them focused on enjoying their food.

He was truly impressed by the expertise of the chefs of that restaurant, and according to Tobias, it was just average compared to the other places one could find in Ormunda. Tobias added that those restaurants that could boast of dishes that had divine tastes would bleed their customers dry, so if one was not well off, it was advisable not to attempt to eat in those restaurants.

Anton was intrigued and planned to go to one of those places someday, once he had enough funds. After eating, they returned to the guild and entered a privacy booth again.

Even though Anton had thousands of questions about the kingdom, he knew that he should stick to topics related to the guild.

Tobias informed him that since he wanted dual identities, he would need to spend coins, and the price was steep, which was five hundred gold coins. Curiously, Anton didn’t need to undergo a combat test since Tobias said that an orb wizard rank test was enough. If he died in the dungeon because he overestimated his personal power, then that was it.

“Why no combat test? An adventurer acquaintance told me that there would be a combat test,” Anton asked.

“Those tests are for non-wizard adventurers, but it’s expected of high-level wizards to know their power.”

“How do people gain a non-wizard profession?” Anton asked, and Tobias stared at him.

“To gain a non-wizard profession, a person needs to join an organization that specializes in the profession they want to have. The organization will also be the one providing the skills that they could utilize once they have enough power. Those who have potential but had no access to specialized group or organization that provided those special profession will mostly rank up as Warriors, Spearman, Sword Wielders, and some other generic melee profession but you will be surprised at the power that some of those generic adventurers have since those who rank up in those profession will usually invent skills of their own that will carry them through their evolution.”

“Does that mean that those who had potential can just rank up as those generic melee professions?”

“Every adventurer understands that special professions like Assassin, Moon Knife Wielders, Blood Monk, or some other special profession are still infinitely more powerful than the general ones. Some wizards even categorized the different professions as Normal, Special, Rare, Golden, or Mythic, and some wizards use other terms, but none of them were truly officially accepted since it was truly hard to quantify the power of a profession since most of them are based on the individual’s power.”

The information that Tobias gave him was truly enlightening, but Tobias was also asking some questions that were painful for Anton to answer. Mostly about the fall of the cities in Rendindura against the Undead Coalition, his experiences while running away from the undead, and the most painful was the details of the destruction of the Amelia.

Anton tried his best to provide that information since he believed that it was best that he fully conveyed how dangerous the Undead Coalition was, but based on the expression on Tobias's face, the Ormunda Wizards were already aware of what was happening on Rendindura, and they simply didn’t care. He could understand a little. How could someone care for something that was happening on the other side of the world?

He asked a lot of questions to Tobias and even shamefully included non-guild topics, which thankfully, the older mage seemed like he was not bothered by non-related topics. It was already nighttime when their conversation was over, and he asked Tobias how much he owed the guild. Anton was planning to give more as a tip because he truly learned a lot.

“You don’t need to pay me. We learned a lot from you, and the information that you provided offsets the knowledge that I gave, and to be honest, I enjoyed talking to you. It feels like I’m educating one of my grandsons,” Tobias smiled, and Anton laughed, which he now rarely did.

Anton did feel like the man pitied him a little because of the tragedy that he had encountered over the last year, and not only that, he felt like Tobias was impressed by him for how resilient he had been during those tragic experiences. Also, he did pay the guild five hundred gold coins for the dual identity.

“Let me give you one of the enchanted items that I made as a gift to thank you for being so accommodating.”

Anton retrieved a sculpture that had the Frozen Orb air conditioner from his inventory, showed Tobias how it worked, and finally handed the item to the mage. The old mage wasn’t surprised since during one of their questions and answers, he informed the man of his ability to create enchanted items.

The old mage looked at the enchanted item appreciatively, since, when activated, it really looked beautiful.

“Visit me here sometimes if you have the time,” Tobias told him after Anton said his goodbye.

He went to a nearby inn and rented a room after eating dinner at a restaurant. Once he was inside his room, Anton inspected the two guild identification cards that were handed to him by one of the guild staff while he was talking to Tobias.

Since he and Tobias had spoken for so long, all the paperwork was handled during their conversation, and Tobias even tested him using the wizard rank orb tester that a staff member handed him.

The iron card that signified his Iron Rank stated that he was a newbie warrior priest named Andrew, while the gold card stated that he was an archmage named Anton. He asked Tobias if he should wear some sort of mask, but the old mage scoffed and said that he didn’t need to. The dungeon that he would dive into as a novice healer was far from the dungeon that he would need to dive into to challenge his power as an archmage, and changing his clothing was enough.

“I also recommend that you don’t attach yourself to one group of adventurers. You said that the main reason you wanted to play as a healer was to relax your mind after the tragedy you’ve experienced, but remember that dungeon diving, which was what adventurers normally do, is a truly dangerous work, and there was a chance that he would receive some news that the group he joined perished. Spread yourself since that will allow you to help a lot of groups, and with your assistance, they could possibly increase their power, which would allow them to survive longer,” Tobias advised.

By evening, the old mage was already treating Anton like a younger relative. Anton appreciated the advice and would follow it since he didn’t want to truly befriend anyone for now. Not at least, until a lot of time had passed.

He still hadn’t watched any movies, anime, or television shows since that activity was the fun thing that everyone enjoyed while they were on the ship, and he knew that he could return to watching them after a lot of time had passed.

He slept early that night since Anton planned to dive into a dungeon the next day. He didn’t even enter his Diablo II system that day, but it was fine since it was only for that day, and Anton needed to learn a lot of information about the kingdom. He still hadn’t decided which identity he would use first. At least, he had no problem sleeping because of the Pearl of the Ocean.
