My Favorite Game Followed Me! -
Chapter 451
Anton thought that by the time weeks passed, the hurt he felt would start to fade, but so far, it had not. There were moments when he was watching a short video that he thought was clever or funny enough to share with his friends, but then he would suddenly remember that they were gone, like a punch in the stomach.
The grief would then well up again. He never expected that his friends' demise would affect him so much since they were just “friends,” but his heart was treating everyone as family, and their disappearance in his life felt like his heart was suddenly full of wounds.
Anton knew he was being overdramatic and pathetic again, so he concentrated on leveling up his Sorceress character. He couldn’t afford to drown himself in grief.
The problem was, his grief was turning into severe hate and anger. He hated the Undead Coalition so much because ever since he transmigrated into this world, he and his adopted family had suffered persecution from them.
He also hated Amelia’s Invincible Wizard, Katrina. Because of her, during the last moments before their ship’s destruction, he felt a sense of desperation. Due to the information he had that Katrina would stop at nothing to obtain the magic that would allow other wizards to memorize spells at an unimaginable speed—so much so that she didn’t care if Anton and his family were destroyed—he felt muddled and unfocused, which possibly hindered his attempts to rescue his friends.
Anton understood that his father's and sister's grief was the same. It was transforming into anger and resolve. Especially Anders, since his lovers died on that ship. He realized that once they settled down in a new land, the three of them would likely live their lives seeking revenge, and to be honest, Anton felt they might not even have a choice in the matter. Due to the ambition of the Undead Coalition, his theory that it would lead to some form of a last bastion defending itself from the undead was becoming more likely to materialize.
The next two weeks were basically the same as the first four weeks when they started flying to the west using their lifeboat. Anders and Anna would wake up in the morning, and Anders would command Anton and Anna to eat breakfast with him. Then Anton’s father and sister would spend the day practicing their magic.
Every afternoon, Anders would then coerce Anton and Anna to practice swordplay as some form of body exercise then after that they would return to practicing their magic.
Anders would announce that a week had passed every week, and Anton would give the daily minor mana potions and minor healing potions that he was transferring from the game to his father.
Anna asked if they were planning to sell the potions, but both Anders and Anton said that they shouldn’t since the potions were lifesaving items that didn’t need Anton’s presence. It would be best for both his father and Anna to keep them for themselves or those they wanted to save. Anton’s father split the potions between him and Anna.
Anton was different from his father and sister. Since he was controlling the lifeboat all the time, he couldn’t sleep, so he spent the majority of his time leveling up his Sorceress character. Because of his non-stop playing, he was able to get the items needed to construct the runeword armor Enigma and reached the maximum level in such a short amount of time.
In their sixth week traveling alone using the lifeboat, Anton prepared himself to transfer the recently made Enigma armor from the game to the real world. When he retrieved the armor from his inventory, Anton gasped at the power that he could feel from the armor, and his father and sister, who were busy memorizing spells, were the same.
“What is that!” Anna exclaimed.
Anton was supposed to hide it until there were two items so he could give one each to his father and sister, but because of his curiosity, he couldn’t avoid retrieving the Enigma armor from his inventory.
“It’s the most powerful armor that I’ve created. A person who’s wearing this would receive a massive amount of defense against damage. Not only that, the wearer would receive a gigantic amount of physical strength. It would also provide a huge boost to all the skills that the wearer had, making them more powerful. That means that if the wearer of the armor cast a cantrip spell, its power would increase until it is equal in power to a level two spell. The wearer would also be able to move fifty percent faster, either walking or running. The armor would also heal the wearer every time he or she kills. The most important thing was that it would allow the wearer of the armor to teleport as many times as he or she wanted, as long as their mana can support it, and with the mana potions that I’m giving you, teleporting will not be a problem.”
Both Anders and Anna gaped at what seemed to be legendary armor.
“Father, I want you to have it. The armor’s name is Enigma,” Anton said to Anders, giving the armor to his father.
“You should wear it! You’re the one we’re depending on,” Anders told his son.
“My defenses are already humongous, and to be honest with you, adding that armor would not benefit me too much. You don’t have to worry. I can create legendary items roughly every six weeks for a total of seven items per year. The next item that I’m going to create is going to be for Anna,” Anton replied.
Anton’s father and Anna just nodded when they heard what Anton had said. Anders wore the armor on top of his shirt, and because of some magic that the Enigma Armor had, it immediately conformed to Anders's body.
“I feel it! I can feel my power increase! I can also feel the new skill!” Anders exclaimed.
“Don’t teleport or you’ll fall in the water. Is it heavy?” Anton told his father.
“Actually, I feel like I’m only wearing my shirt,” Anders said softly, which Anton expected since that was how it felt when he was inside the game.
“Then don’t ever remove, father, since it will protect your life.”
“Not even when bathing?” Anna joked, and Anton just rolled his eyes at his sister.
Anton could see that his father wanted to test out the armor’s capabilities, but their boat was too small to do something like that. He decided to stop at the next island that they would stumble into so that he could rest and his father could play using the armor.
That afternoon, Anton encountered an island, but he bypassed it because it was too large and knew that there could be monsters inside. He wasn’t afraid of the monster that was in there, but was afraid of causing a commotion if he fought them, because even though they had been running for six weeks without getting a glimpse of the undead, he was still terrified that the Undead Coalition was behind them.
After a few hours of flying, Anton encountered another island, and this time it was a very small one and they could see the whole of the island by just staying in one place. Since his father and sister were already asleep, he parked their lifeboat in the island without bothering them but both Anders and Anna woke up.
“I stopped at a small island so I can sleep. You can also use this chance to check your armor father,” Anton told Anders and after that, he prepared to rest.
