Anton was focused on his Diablo II system after breakfast that day, so there was a noticeable dip in the speed of their lifeboat’s flight, but it was truly important for him to know all the details of his system's changes.

Just like the first time that a major change happened to his Diablo II system, a pop-up page appeared, but this time, the information was more extensive than before which was understandable since the changed that happened before was that the system modified the inventory and the personal storage chest to increase almost unlimitedly and that was it.

“Ladder Update!

Every few months in a year, the Diablo II ladder competition will occur, which will allow you to participate in a party play with your friends on Earth! You will need to create a new character for the ladder competition, and you can create each of the characters for a total of seven characters. Once you reach the maximum level of your characters in the ladder season, twenty percent of the major stats of the character that you’ve maximized will be transferred to you in real life.

That means that once you create a Sorceress character in Ladder Competition, when you reach the maximum level of the Sorceress, twenty percent of the Energy Stat, which is the major stat of the Sorceress, will be transferred to your real-life body.

You can also transfer one piece of equipment of any type from the game to real life once you’ve reached the maximum level for each character that you create, for a total of seven pieces of equipment, so please make sure to select the most powerful ones.

And lastly, you can transfer a single minor health potion or minor mana potion from the game to real life each day! Happy playing!”

Anton became very excited. If he understood the update correctly, each time the ladder season occurred, he could create brand-new seven characters, and once he reached the maximum level of those characters, twenty percent of the major stats of the characters would be transferred to him. The most important part was, he could transfer a total of seven godly items from the game to real life. On a side note, the fact that he would also be able to retrieve a minor health and mana potion from the game to real life seemed like a non-important bonus due to his ability to consume them in game that would affect him in real life but it was still a good thing since he could give them to his father and sister so they could consume them during emergencies.

He wondered why there were no rewards if he managed to reach the rankings. Nevertheless, the rewards for the update would make him powerful because he would be able to wear the best equipment in-game, which would reflect in real life, and he could wear another set of equipment in real life, which would double the bonuses that he would get from items. He would need to select the best items that would complement all of his equipment in-game and in real life with each other.

During his review of his Diablo II system update, the speed of their lifeboat became slow, and Anton was still afraid that the undead were behind them, so he sped up again. He would need to learn how to play a new character in his Diablo II system while still controlling their lifeboat without the boat slowing down.

It would be quite difficult, but he had no choice but to learn it. He would truly need to multitask, but the good thing was, he could let other players from Earth carry him. He could mask as a newbie, which was a little difficult since Diablo II was such an old game, but he was truly a newbie when it came to ladder competition, since he had never joined it because of his poverty back on Earth. He didn’t have access to a stable enough internet connection that would allow him to play with others.

Anton immediately created a new Sorceress in the new ladder season and joined a party. The major difference with the new ladder competition and his old game style was, he would not be able to waste time searching for monsters in every nook and cranny of the game since his party would not allow him to play slowly. It also meant that he would be able to reach the maximum level of a character at the fastest time possible. When he searched the internet, though, he learned that he was greatly mistaken. According to the internet, it would take roughly a few weeks for a character to reach the maximum level if the gameplay were the normal length of time.

More than likely, he would copy those online streamers and play the game as if he had no kidneys, living with no sleep, and behaving like an unemployed otaku. Since Anton and his family would stay at sea for months, it was the best time for him to play like that. So during the next few hours, that’s what he did, playing his Sorceress character and only stopping when lunchtime arrived.

After a brief lunch with his father and sister, he returned to playing the game. Since he was playing his character like he was in front of a computer, it was easier for Anton, and he could control the lifeboat without any issue. He did slow down once in a while, but when he noticed it, he would strive to reach the max speed again.

At around two in the afternoon, he needed to say goodbye to his playmates since it was time for the family exercise, which was the sword practice that Anders had been teaching his children. Once it was done, Anton immediately returned to playing the game, but before he joined a party, he used one of the updates that the game had and retrieved a minor healing potion from his inventory, and took it out into the real world.

After that, he exited the game since he needed to conduct further research on how to play ladder in Diablo II, since this was the first time he joined it.

The minor healing potion that he retrieved was surprisingly only as big as his thumb. It was easy enough to remove the stopper, but he closed the bottle again immediately. His father noticed his actions.

“What is that?” His father asked loudly enough that Anna also stopped memorizing his spell and looked over.

“It’s a new item I made. It’s called a minor healing potion that will allow those who consume it to heal. I don’t know how effective it is yet. Keep it father and if there’s an opportunity, try to find out its effectiveness.”

“It will probably be a long time before we can test it out.”

Anna asked to check the potion out and after several minutes of observing it, she returned it to their father who stored in his spatial item.

Anton then turned his attention to his browser and began reviewing the rules of Diablo II ladders. He learned that he could play solo, and that meant that he could return to his old game style, but since he wouldn’t be able to enter the game virtually anyway, it would be best for him to join a party. He would also play solo once in a while to hunt for specific items since there were new items in ladders, and to test several things that he wanted to test solo, but that was in the future. In the meantime, he joined a party and continued absently leveling up his Sorceress character.
