My Favorite Game Followed Me! -
Chapter 436
Anton studied all the mages from Katrina, who was the Invincible Wizard heading the ritual that would allow the Amelia to escape the clutches of the Undead Coalition ships, to the six Supreme Wizards with all of their eyes closed, holding on the mana that was floating in front of them. The multi-colored floating mana, which was the result of the ritual, looked like those light effects one would see in the videos representing the galaxies and other heavenly bodies shown on videos about the universe.
The spell was one of the most beautiful things Anton had ever seen in his life, and he had an urge to join in his will in handling the mana, which would probably result in him disrupting the ritual.
He knew nothing about the magic that the wizards were handling, but he could feel the result because of his connection with the magic of the world as a mage. Even though he was using a different magic system considering that he was reliant on his Diablo II system, he was still connected with the mana of this world since he was able to learn the standard magic and because of that, his magical senses were able to detect the fluctuations that was happening in the ship.
He knew that the force field that was covering the Amelia was protecting the whole ship from being torn apart because of the great speed the ship had while running from the undead. It was also the reason why the ordinary passengers did not feel anything about what was happening with the ship.
To avoid disrupting the ritual, Anton closed his eyes and entered his Diablo II system. He started creating enchanting floating boards that he would give to his father later to give to those in the family who did not have one. To be honest, Anton thought that if worst came to worst and the ship was destroyed, the floating boards would hardly save anyone, but what it would do was provide a sliver of a chance of survival. A sliver was better than nothing, so he continued creating several more floating boards.
When noon arrived, Anton created around five floating boards. He planned to create more after lunch, be he exited his Diablo II system first because he felt that someone would enter the room during lunchtime, and he was correct.
One of the Supreme Wizards who was not part of the ritual entered and cast a spell on all of the wizards in the room. Anton felt satiated again, and that meant that he would have to say goodbye to the idea of eating solid food or drinking water as long as he was part of the ritual.
Anton knew that he was contributing greatly since he could see that Katrina and the wizards who were part of the ritual still looked like they were full of energy.
When the wizard who cast the spell on them to make sure that they were not hungry or thirsty left, Anton suddenly heard a message in his mind.
“Young archmage, this is Katrina. I would have to thank you greatly. If this ritual had been conducted normally, we would have been tired by now, and in a few hours, we would have been holding on by sheer will, but because of your bloodline spell, we are as fresh as the time we started the ritual. I am now sure that we would be able to outran the undead.”
“It’s my pleasure and my duty, Lady Katrina. The survival of my family and friends is dependent on us getting away from those undead,” Anton whispered in his mind, not knowing if the lady would be able to hear it, but after a while, Katrina acknowledged his response by some sort of telepathic nod which hugely impressed him since the Invincible Wizard was able to convey something ephemeral as a telepathic nod.
After that telepathic conversation, the rest of the afternoon remained in silence. Anton re-entered his Diablo II system and created more enchanted items that he thought would prove useful in their survival if the worst happened.
Even though he felt a little assured since the ritual that the most powerful wizards on the ship had been conducting allowed the Amelia to possibly outrun the undead, he had learned several times not to underestimate the Undead Coalition.
To be honest, Anton had been feeling apprehensive ever since Numinor announced that the Undead Coalition had conquered Ooalu and that they were being chased by two hundred ships. He was also sure that the Islands of Norbuna probably had already fallen as well. It was as if a devil kept whispering to him that the worst would happen and that the Amelia would be destroyed. He hoped that it was just him feeling down because of the situation, not him suddenly developing some sort of foresight.
During the afternoon, he managed to create a couple more floating boards and created several wands of Ice Bolt. He also made a couple of those belts that had the three level-one armor spells from Diablo II.
When night arrived, Katrina asked him telepathically if he needed rest. He replied that he didn’t need it and he could feel that the Invincible Wizard was relieve and Anton was sure that the powerful mage allowed him to feel it, possibly to let him know that his assistance was one of the most important component in the success of the ritual saving them since it was allowing everyone to continue conducting it without Katrina needing to rest.
The Supreme Wizards' shift change arrived, and the six of them were replaced by the well-rested mages. The only ones who couldn’t rest were Katrina and Anton, which wasn’t a problem since they were still full of energy because of Anton’s aura.
Anton actually didn’t know how long he could go on without rest and just relying on the Vigor Aura since even when they were running before, they still had plenty of rest when night arrived.
This time, Anton had an inkling that he might learn the limit of that Vigor Aura. He did notice that his mana started dipping and it meant that his Prayer, Vigor or Meditation Auras had begun correcting what was wrong on the people that was added to his party system which was Katrina and the six Supreme Wizards that was part of the ritual but at least his Mediation Aura was still able to allow him to regenerate mana to support everyone.
Even if, for some reason, the mana expenditure suddenly began to magnify, he had plenty of mana potions and full rejuvenation stored in his inventory and the camp chest. Anton was thankful again that his system modified his inventory and camp chest to allow him to store an almost infinite number of items.
The night continued with the ritual still ongoing, and Anton remained there to assist the mages in making sure that they would have the energy to support the ritual. He was thankful that he had his system because if he didn’t, he would have been bored out of his mind. Because of his system, he was able to create several enchanted items that would greatly assist his family the worst thing happened. It also allowed him to read web novels and watch shows and animes without the mages knowing what he was doing.
To be honest, he could even sleep since the only thing he needed to do was to keep his auras active, and he could do so even asleep, but of course, he wouldn’t do something like slap the faces of the powerful wizards there by sleeping while they were watching.
