Chapter 236 - Chapter 236 236 Talk about it

Chapter 236: 236 Talk about it Chapter 236: 236 Talk about it “You already know that this is just a game,” Chen Xu’s voice sounded as if it were roaring from his throat.

Yang Jinxia said, “What if it isn’t?”

“You can even gamble with your own life, what else are you afraid of?” Chen Xu clenched his fists, almost questioning.

Yang Jinxia did not respond, just quietly watched him.

After a while, Chen Xu sighed helplessly, “I can’t tell which of your words are true and which are lies. When you’re acting, and when you’re genuinely showing your feelings…”

Yang Jinxia still did not speak.

He stood up and said, “I’m tired, get me a room, I want to rest.”

“2003.” She finally spoke, and as soon as the words were out, 2003 appeared at the door, and she ordered, “Take him to the room next to mine.”

Chen Xu headed towards the door, and throughout, Yang Jinxia never stood up, just looked at her own reflection in the mirror.

Chen Xu followed 2003 to the adjacent room and fell asleep immediately; he was indeed tired.

During the subsequent month and a half, the two spent their time on the spaceship, without encountering any accidents.

Under Yang Jinxia’s control, the spaceship accelerated and left the impact range of the asteroid belt, then turned around and headed back toward the planet they had come from.

The spaceship’s energy was not infinite. Originally, Yang Jinxia, eager to meet Chen Xu, had used a large portion of the energy in accelerating and decelerating.

This time, in order to escape from the asteroid belt, they accelerated madly again, leaving not much energy, insufficient for surviving in space. Thus, she planned to return to the planet they came from, then pass through a wormhole back to the planet that might be Earth, where they could spend the rest of their lives.

Throughout the process, Chen Xu never left his room, doing nothing but reviewing the knowledge he had learned from the learning machine.

Yang Jinxia also did not disturb him.

Time passed day by day, and unconsciously, it was already the eighty-ninth day of the journey; they were about forty-some hours away from reaching the planet. Yang Jinxia used the last bit of energy to decelerate the spaceship.

That day, Chen Xu finally came out of his room, dressed in a dark blue tight suit with scale-like patterns, which was a standard outfit found on the spaceship. Though it looked strange, it was quite comfortable. After initially feeling uncomfortable, he had grown to like the outfit.

For the first time in over a month, he knocked on Yang Jinxia’s door, where a table with food was set up.

A few hours before, he had conveyed through 2003 his desire to have a meal with her.

This spaceship was different from the Dawn; it was not built by humans, and the food was also vastly different from that of humans.

This past month, they had been eating food brought from the Dawn. After they had flown out into space, the spaceship had taken some time to find its way back, which allowed them to have food to eat.

Yang Jinxia always managed to think everything through thoroughly, and in the current circumstances, she could still prepare a table of food.

“You’re here,” she said, wearing a black tulle dress, noticeably made up, though it was unclear when she had brought cosmetics as such items clearly weren’t available on this spaceship.

Chen Xu nodded slightly and walked in, without ceremony, straight to one of the chairs to sit down.

“Have some red wine,” Yang Jinxia suggested, sitting opposite him, “this is the last bottle.”

“Okay.”

Chen Xu responded indifferently.

2003 emerged from the corner, picked up the wine bottle on the table, opened it and poured two glasses, placing them in front of them before retreating to the wall corner.

Yang Jinxia picked up her glass, slightly tilted its rim toward him, and said, “May all your wishes come true.”

Chen Xu also picked up his glass, clinked it with hers, took a sip, put the glass down, and said, “There’s something I’d like to talk to you about seriously.”

Yang Jinxia picked up the chopsticks and said, “Let’s talk while we eat, before it gets cold.”

Chen Xu had been on a special diet all month, and seeing the steaming dishes on the table, his appetite surged. He quickly devoured a bowl of white rice with the dishes.

Yang Jinxia occasionally served him some food with her chopsticks, and he accepted without refusal, silently finishing his meal. After wiping his mouth with a paper napkin and leaning back in his chair, he said, “It’s been a long time since I’ve had such delicious food.”

“If you like it, that’s great,” Yang Jinxia had also finished eating, and 2003 timely stepped forward to clean up the dining table.

After it left, Chen Xu saw Yang Jinxia looking at him, waiting for him to speak, not knowing how to start. It had been over a month since they last met, and it felt somewhat strange. Finally, he asked a particularly courteous question, “Are you…doing okay?”

She naturally answered, “Pretty well.”

“That’s good,” Chen Xu said dryly, pausing for a few seconds before deciding to get to the main point, “I’ve been seriously thinking about our relationship lately.”

Yang Jinxia didn’t interrupt, just quietly looking at him, waiting for him to continue.

“We both know that we can’t be together. In reality, there are too many obstacles; you have your unavoidable reasons, and I can’t give up Luo Xiyun. Continuing this entanglement isn’t good for anyone, don’t you think?”

Yang Jinxia said, “You mean, you want me not to bother you anymore?”

Chen Xu shook his head and said, “I have a proposal.”

“Go ahead.”

“You’ve probably guessed already, this is indeed a game, precisely, a dream game,” Chen Xu decided to be frank with her as he’d thought it through. After all, judging from various signs, she had roughly guessed the truth; there was no point in hiding it anymore, better to be straightforward.

Yang Jinxia’s expression shifted at his words.

“This dream game, I don’t know how it came to be, but suddenly it was there. Initially, only I could enter, but somehow, due to some error, you were also brought in.”

Chen Xu skipped some details and continued, “I can’t control when I enter the dream or foresee its content. However, I can choose whether to let others enter the dream with me.”

At this point, Yang Jinxia looked thoughtful, “So, besides me, you also entered the dream with someone else, right? Luo Xiyun definitely, and anyone else?”

Chen Xu didn’t directly answer, sighing, “It was only an accident. If I had known earlier, things wouldn’t have turned out this way.”

Yang Jinxia asked him, “Do you regret it?”

Chen Xu opened his mouth but couldn’t say the answer, hesitating for a moment before counter-asking, “Do you still want to enter such dreams?”

“I understand your point,” Yang Jinxia’s face showed a touching smile, “It’s indeed an irresistible proposal.”

Seeing her agreeing, Chen Xu was relieved; this way, he could achieve multiple goals. He had to admit she had remarkable abilities. With her as an ally, the chances of completing tasks were much higher.

Moreover, if he had to choose someone he truly trusted in this world, it might just be her. He was wary of her but never worried she would harm him. It was a complex feeling he might not have even realized.

There was also the fact that ever since she revealed that shocking news in the hospital, he frequently had nightmares, dreaming that during his wedding with Luo Xiyun, she would appear with a child calling him ‘Daddy’…

He knew she was capable of such a thing.

This might be the only way to stop her.
