Chapter 326: Chapter 231: Why did you secretly watch me after I left?_2

Su Yuecheng softly “Hmm,” but then asked Ziyan, “Did you stop nursing?”

Ziyan nodded her head, she had weaned six months ago, and it broke her heart to hear her daughter cry.

“Is there not enough milk?” he asked bluntly, causing Ziyan to blush and hastily change the subject: “I’ll take Dudu to sleep now.”

Knowing her to be conservative and shy, Su Yuecheng nodded: “Hmm.”

Yet, he followed her inside and watched as she bent over to put the child on the bed. As she bent, her short skirt moved slightly up, leaving much to the imagination.

He was no saint, just an ordinary man who had also tasted the sweet flavor of her body, and now he wanted even more to hold her in his arms.

Ziyan tucked Dudu in and straightened up, only to find him standing by the door, staring intently at her.

Her mind went blank, not fully aware of the desire evident in his eyes, and awkwardly suggested: “There’s only the sofa available…”

Su Yuecheng focused his gaze on her face, responding indifferently, “It’s okay.” It was enough that she did not avoid him or urge him to leave like before.

“Then… I’ll find you some bedding.” Saying this, she tiptoed and struggled to open the top shelf of the wardrobe.

The movement of her raised arms subtly revealed her flat belly, beckoning the outline of hidden curves.

Su Yuecheng swallowed hard, moved behind her, and reached over saying, “I’ll get it.”

Using his height advantage, he easily took down the bedding and even managed to cop a feel.

Ziyan probably sensed it; when he leaned in, she was squeezed tightly against the wardrobe door, his one leg positioned ambiguously between hers.

The bare skin exposed to the air rubbed against his suit pants—an odd sensation but not uncomfortable…

She quickly stepped back, blushed, and dared not look at him again.

Su Yuecheng looked as if nothing had happened, maintaining his upright gentlemanly demeanor. Holding the bedding, he gazed at the embarrassed Ziyan, then spoke softly, “Do you have a pillow?”

Ziyan paused, handing him the pillow she used, hoping to get him out quickly, else her heart might stop from the palpitations or she might suffocate.

Su Yuecheng reached for the pillow, intentionally touching her hand, causing her to look up in alarm, while he acted as if nothing had happened, casually turned away with the bedding.

Ziyan’s cheeks flushed even redder, thinking perhaps she was overthinking, such a gentlemanly person as him would not make such a move.

“Sleep early.” He said, turning at the door to look at her.

Ziyan nodded hurriedly and went to close the door.

Su Yuecheng also stepped out, and as the door was halfway shut, he suddenly blocked it and turned around.

Their eyes met for two seconds, Ziyan’s face burning up, wondering what he intended with that gaze.

If he made an advance, should she accept or refuse?

While her mind was in turmoil, she heard him ask, “After I left, why did you sneak a look at me?”

Ziyan went blank, realizing her previous thoughts were useless, and never expected him to ask that. Her explanation was weak: “I… I wasn’t looking at you. I was just out on the balcony catching some air, and then… just happened to see you coming out.”

“Just happened…” Su Yuecheng murmured, then asked, “Then why did you run away after you saw me?”

Ziyan scrambled an explanation: “Dudu was crying… so I went inside…” but at that moment, Dudu was in her arms.

Su Yuecheng didn’t expose her this time but meaningfully “Oh~” and said, “Go to sleep.”

He turned and walked to the sofa.

Ziyan looked at him, then finally closed the door and sighed in relief.

Although she knew that he was too smart and her explanation certainly didn’t fool him, it was good he didn’t press further.

The thunderstorm outside continued, Ziyan lay in bed watching her obedient daughter sleep, but her ears were alert to any sounds from the living room.

It was silent; he must have fallen asleep.

Closing her eyes, the rainy night felt more peaceful, clinging to the blanket, her lips unconsciously curved upwards.

But then she heard faint noises from the bathroom, followed by the sound of flowing water; he was taking a shower.

Ziyan opened her eyes, reviewed everything in her wardrobe, and realized there were no clothes for him to wear.

What to do? What if he mistakenly wet his clothes, then he would have nothing to wear.

Worried, Ziyan got out of bed, opened the door, and knocked on the bathroom door.

The water stopped, and as the door opened, his voice followed, “Need to use the restroom?”

Ziyan shook her head: “There are no clothes for you to wear… so don’t get your clothes wet…”

Su Yuecheng, while tying a towel around himself, walked out: “They’re already wet.”

She looked somewhat annoyed as she frowned, seemingly thinking of a solution.

Su Yuecheng found it strange that her focus wasn’t on his physique but on the wet clothes…

“I’ll wash them now, they should be dry by tomorrow,” she said, starting to roll up her sleeves.

Su Yuecheng watched; he hadn’t let her do any household chores in the United Kingdom, not wanting her to suffer.

But now, he felt that this scene, somewhat like a wife washing clothes for her husband, was quite nice, and he didn’t stop her, simply saying casually, “Then I’ll trouble you.”

Ziyan smiled and shook her head, already pouring detergent into the basin.

Su Yuecheng rested comfortably on the sofa, appreciating the quaintness of the room, but feeling he had fallen in love with this place, or rather, the person in this place.

The pillow was one she had slept on, still carrying the fresh scent of her shampoo, and it was comforting.

Moreover, she seemed to have gradually gotten used to his presence.

At least compared to that day in the tea restaurant where she rushed to shake off his hand and ran away, today’s Ziyan was a delightful surprise.

Her shyness when he flirted, her embarrassed lies when questioned, her considerate worry about him having no clothes to wear the next day, personally washing his clothes.

He had never encountered a girl like this.

He didn’t know if this was the best, but he didn’t want to look for something better, as for him, this was already perfect…

The rain continued, and this home was no longer a place of individual shivers, but a warmth shared by two…
