Chapter 211: Chapter 190: Medicine Buddha Tower

They avoided the crowd and gathered in a secluded pavilion.

Chen Yi and Yin Weiyin separated, and Chen Yi naturally took Yin Tingxue’s hand.

The young girl let him hold it, even though she felt shy being watched by so many people. Yet she couldn’t resist—if she disobeyed him in such small matters, how could she justify being obedient in larger ones?

She was always striving to find her scarce and pitiable leverage.

Chen Yi vaguely sensed the girl’s thoughts and tightened his grip on her hand.

"The Four Heavenly Kings statues are all gathered, so now, let’s take them out together."

The Western monk spoke up.

Chen Yi nodded, taking out two of the statues from his bag and placing them on the stone table. Yin Weiyin also retrieved his statue and pushed it forward.

Just as the Western monk was about to place his own statue, his movement halted as his peripheral vision caught something.

Chen Yi saw the manic scripture master turn, his cane upright, standing with one hand raised as though chanting Buddhist Law, completely on guard.

Chen Yi swiftly turned his head.

Ten paces before the pavilion, a figure in a dark robe rushed into view. The middle-aged woman wielded a sword, silently staring into the pavilion.

"Tang Shishu."

Lu Ying waved and called out.

Tang Kumai only glanced sideways without responding further.

Chen Yi lowered his gaze.

To establish a peak in Yin Sword Mountain requires Martial Arts Third Rank. If Tang Kumai decided to act, everyone in the pavilion would only be able to flee.

However, Tang Kumai neither attacked nor withdrew.

Her gaze swept over everyone before stopping directly on Yin Tingxue.

The princess visibly flinched, shrinking back behind Chen Yi.

This inconspicuous little movement made Chen Yi suddenly realize the girl’s reliance on him.

Chen Yi took a deep breath and firmly gazed at Tang Kumai.

"Are you truly planning to enter the Buddha Tower?"

Tang Kumai asked slowly and deliberately.

"Of course," the monk replied, frowning. "Tang Peak Master, are you going to stop us?"

Tang Kumai shook her head and gave a bitter smile as she said:

"I’m merely a pawn. How can I stop you?

I simply wish to caution you: once you enter, don’t regret it."

The scripture master grumbled discontentedly, "Always rambling."

Dong Gong Ruoshu nodded in agreement, glanced around, noticed no one else agreed, then awkwardly scratched his head.

Chen Yi, on the other hand, was deep in thought.

The Buddha Tower clearly holds immense danger. Should I leave Yin Tingxue behind and not let her enter?

Suddenly, Chen Yi felt a faint breeze brush past the space between his brows. He looked up sharply and saw Tang Kumai’s lips move.

She seemed to have used some form of mind-reading Taoist Skill and said flatly:

"She must enter."

Chen Yi squinted his eyes.

At that moment, Yin Tingxue shook his hand and said:

"I—I also want to go in and see."

Chen Yi turned to look at her, catching the subtle movement of her ears as if she’d heard something.

Frowning, Chen Yi mulled it over for a long time before nodding slightly.

With his master absent, leaving Yin Tingxue here wouldn’t be realistic...

Moreover, he was determined to enter to unravel the mystery and find a cure for the poison. The best course seemed to be to bring Yin Tingxue along and protect her closely.

In this moment, Chen Yi deeply missed Zhou Yitang.

It had been two days since he’d arrived here, and Zhou Yitang was nowhere to be found. She hadn’t appeared even once, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that she was laying out some hidden plan. Yet the clues were too sparse, and he couldn’t figure it out.

The only certainty he had was that she had her own measures, and he had to trust her judgment.

Currently, his master was his greatest support and his final trump card.

Seeing Chen Yi’s nod, Tang Kumai then turned her gaze to Lu Ying nearby.

"Lu Ying, if you still respect me as your Shishu, don’t go."

Her tone brooked no argument. Despite not fully understanding her intent, Lu Ying nodded, then turned to Dong Gong Ruoshu.

The woman carrying the Yanling Saber earnestly pondered for... one or two breaths, before shaking her head vigorously like a drum, saying:

"I have to see it. I’m not afraid anyway."

She was the proud sixth disciple under heaven; fearing a mere Buddha Tower would be laughable—not just to others, but also to her uncle master.

"Lu Daoyou, there’s no need to worry. I’ll accompany her."

Yin Weiyin lightly shook his horsetail whisk and spoke calmly.

Seeing this, Lu Ying finally nodded but still looked at them with a trace of worry.

Then she seemed to have thought of someone, clenched her teeth, and softly requested:

"Chen Qianhu, when the time comes, I ask you to take care of them."

Chen Yi looked at her, slightly puzzled by her hesitation, but didn’t overthink and agreed:

"Naturally."

Whether it was Yin Weiyin or the girl concealed under the alias Dong Gong, these were people he deeply cared for.

Once Lu Ying left the pavilion, Tang Kumai spoke again:

"You all... place the Four Heavenly Kings statues at four distinct positions."

"That’s it?"

"That’s it. Then you’ll be sent into the Medicine Buddha Tower." Tang Kumai replied succinctly.

The Western monk silently calculated for a moment, then placed the final statue onto the stone table.

The Four Heavenly Kings statues assembled into one location.

A roaring sound echoed in their ears.

Above them, it was as if the great sun was eclipsed, casting a heavy shadow.

Chen Yi abruptly raised his head.

He saw that the space had shifted unknowingly, with four immense figures towering overhead.

These were the Four Heavenly Kings, their hands extending toward the group, slowly descending.

The dense shadows loomed over them, as if the heavens themselves trembled and pressed down. Everywhere he looked was pitch-black. Chen Yi suddenly realized they were plunged into chaos, his grip on Yin Tingxue’s hand tightening. Her faint breathing reassured him she hadn’t left his side.

Thunderous noises roared incessantly as Chen Yi felt the space twisting, distorting, and warping.

After what seemed like an eternity, his eyes opened again.

Chen Yi was startled to find that everyone else had vanished, leaving only Yin Tingxue by his side.

The girl shivered slightly, gasping for breath, gripping his hand tightly. Their palms were slick with mingled sweat.

Chen Yi snapped back to reality, noticing her hand had gone pale from his grip. He let go.

Yin Tingxue wiped her sweat on her clothes and blew on her hand, trying to dispel any odd smell.

"This is... the Medicine Buddha Tower?" Chen Yi muttered.

Beneath their feet lay glass-like tiles in myriad colors, dazzling and somewhat dizzying even without staring at them.

The walls were coated in silver, adorned with lotus flowers, honeysuckle, and bodhi leaf patterns. Yin Tingxue glanced around and silently marveled—this was precisely as the Buddhist Scripture described, the Pure Liu Li Buddha Country east of the Saha world.

At the end of the corridor, murals adorned the walls.

Yin Tingxue curiously looked over.

It depicted celestial maidens scattering petals from their hands, with two Bodhisattvas preaching to their disciples. This scene, common in Buddhist depictions, was celestial maidens scattering flowers. Flowers slid off the Bodhisattvas but lingered on the disciples.

But in this particular mural,

the flowers instantly scattered away.
