The Eighth Prince was embarrassed by Wei Yu’s comment, asking him to look at it himself.

He was still a young gentleman, as pure as jade, unmarried, and without a romantic interest. Most of the time, he stayed in the palace, where he either saw his father’s women or some young palace maids.

When it came to matters of men and women, the Eighth Prince couldn’t say he had no understanding, but rather, he just had no interest at all.

His greatest wish was to ensure that his Ninth Brother and Jing’an would live a good life.

Seeing his Eighth Brother’s hesitating expression, Wei Yu directly shoved the book into his hands. “Ah, just take it and read it, Eighth Brother. I’ve got several more books from the southern Miao region. Maybe you’ll find a way to deal with the southern Miao people in them.”

Wei Yu then rummaged through the box and pulled out the other books he had from the southern Miao region based on memory.

At this point, the Eighth Prince didn’t refuse anymore.

He glanced at Wei Yu and asked, “Where did you get these books?”

The palace didn’t allow such books, and the Eighth Prince was curious where Wei Yu had collected this entire box from.

When it came to this, Wei Yu chuckled.

He closed the box and said, “Eighth Brother, you’re too honest. After following me for so long, how come you still haven’t learned my cleverness?”

The tone was so arrogant that the Eighth Prince raised his hand as if to strike him.

Wei Yu quickly stopped him. “Ah! How can you say that? There’s no rule that says you can’t do something just because they say you can’t! Eighth Brother, you just need to remember, rules are just for show, as long as you don’t get caught, money can solve everything!”

The Eighth Prince paused, then looked at him suspiciously. “Did you bribe a purchasing eunuch with money?”

“Smart!”

Wei Yu grinned and nodded, walking over to his bed with the box in his arms, then stuffing the box under the bed. He then retrieved a small wooden box from behind the screen.

He brought the small wooden box over, the lock already opened, and showed it to his Eighth Brother, revealing his little treasure chest.

“Here, this is all my fortune. I’ve been planning to use it for business once I establish my own office.”

The Eighth Prince stared at the stack of silver notes and small silver coins in the box, completely stunned.

He reached in to take them, finding more silver notes, each with different values, and a few rolls of coins tied with string in one corner.

Counting the silver notes in his hands, the Eighth Prince was frozen. “How much have you tricked from the palace servants over the years?”

“Heh! Eighth Brother, I don’t like hearing that.”

Wei Yu glared at him. “What do you mean ‘tricked money from the palace servants’? These were voluntarily offered to me as I did them favors. Your little brother is very capable, wealthy, and even the God of Wealth came to me in a dream and said I’m his direct disciple.”

“Direct disciple?”

The Eighth Prince didn’t even have time to mock him, his mind spinning. “The God of Culture and the God of Wealth are both disciples? Did you fall from grace?”

Wei Yu waved his hand. “That’s not important. Who told you that? All you need to remember is that your brother is about to get rich.”

There’s no such thing as a sudden, unexplained anomaly. If something like that happens, it’s always been caused by something.

The Eighth Prince eyed him sideways. “What have you done now? You still haven’t told me about the glass. Is it related to this?”

Smart Eighth Brother.

“Yes, it’s related to the glass.”

Wei Yu snapped his fingers.

He then told the Eighth Prince everything that had happened recently regarding the glass. However, he didn’t share the specifics of what he had told their father; he only gave a vague explanation.

After hearing everything, the Eighth Prince was once again shocked.

He was completely confused. “So that day at the banquet, Father said you could make colorless glass, and he was serious? But where did you learn all this from? How come I never knew about it?”

The relationship between the Eighth Prince and Wei Yu was so close that they were like brothers, even closer than many real siblings.

They’d never been apart much since they were little. Any private matter, like wetting the bed at night, would always be known by the other by the next day.

So if there was anything unusual, they both could sense it immediately.

Making glass was something that couldn’t be known without firsthand experience. The Eighth Prince himself didn’t know that Wei Yu could do it, and their father had never paid attention to their matters, so how could their father know about it?

Wei Yu blinked and looked at the Eighth Prince’s furrowed brow, and could only apologize in his heart.

After all, his father could read minds, and he himself had the tablet, so it was a secret that had to be kept.

The opportunity for him and his father to honestly share their secrets was purely accidental.

If he hadn’t all known he couldn’t hide it anymore, he probably would have taken these secrets to the grave.

Wei Yu was a contradictory person.

He had great love, but he wasn’t selfless.

He was selfish. When it came to secrets that involved his life and death, he would rather take them to the grave than speak them out and bring endless trouble to his future.

Not even his closest people could be trusted with that.

Wei Yu squinted at the Eighth Prince and smiled. “Eighth Brother, you should know one thing: ‘In books, there are golden houses, and in books, there are beauties like jade.’ Your Ninth Brother is exceptionally clever. It’s only natural that I pick up some tricks from reading books, so don’t make a big deal out of it.”

Wei Yu’s tone was so casual that it made the Eighth Prince question whether he was indeed overreacting.

The Eighth Prince furrowed his brows, muttering to himself, “Am I really overreacting?”

Wei Yu confidently replied, “Yes, you are.”

Trusting him with the tablet’s secret? That’s definitely not going to happen!

The Eighth Prince snorted coldly and gave him a sideways glance. “You’re so capable, huh? By the looks of it, you must know other things too. Why don’t you show off your skills some more?”

Ah, what to say.

What should he say?

The wisdom of those before him was too much, and it felt like whatever he said could lead to a pile of responses. It was really making it hard for him, wasn’t it?

Wei Yu pondered for a moment, then put on a silly smile at his Eighth Brother. It wasn’t exactly flattering, nor was it awkward, but it felt more like a proud and confident arrogance.

The Eighth Prince had a bad feeling in his heart.

He pursed his lips. “You… You really have something else, don’t you?”

Wei Yu gave him a shy glance, lowered his eyes, and bashfully nodded. “Mm, I’ve been writing prescriptions these past few days. Father’s been urging me to hurry up.”

The Eighth Prince looked up to the sky and held his forehead, momentarily silent.

It was too much of a surprise.

This was really too much of a surprise.

He never expected his Ninth Brother to have so many skills!

He had thought this troublemaker was truly unlearned and useless. He had already planned how to support his good brother in the future, but it turns out all that was just a lie?!

What a mess.

Wei Yu insisted he was no troublemaker at all. He patted the small wooden box where the money was stored and tried to coax his Eighth Brother.

“Eighth Brother, after Fourth Brother makes money from the glass and gives me my share, we’ll have money. You can take half of this small amount of money, as an apology from me to you.”

The equally broke Eighth Prince: …

Oh no, he was really tempted.
