Chapter 843: Chapter 457: The Fate of a Running Dog_2
Before their deaths, the two individuals from the Wood Dynasty deeply regretted their decisions: a single misstep had led to endless hatred. They bemoaned the fact that they had become traitorous henchmen; when the crunch came down, their master did not care about their life and death...
Boom! Boom! Boom!
At last, all the lightning converged and relentlessly bombarded the giant sphere of Black Flame. Suladar clenched his teeth and persevered, withstanding the blow. However, the lightning was just the beginning, and the real attack was yet to arrive.
The Bone Mace plunged down through the sky, the thin black flame sphere couldn’t possibly stop it. Suladar took out an ancient earthenware jar and pulled out the stopper with his hand. His hand immediately sustained numerous wounds, turning into a bloody pulp.
This was the backlash from a Divine Artifact.
Once the stopper of the Earthenware Jar was pulled out, a black smoke emitted from inside, transforming into a giant half-human, half-beast monster in mid-air. It wore the exquisitely made knight battle armor, its burly arm reversed in front of its body, holding a large two-handed sword.
This kind of Divine Artifact was classified as a "Guardian Spirit", very rare among the Red Barbarians, and each was of a high tier. Yet if Owen Bertram were to see it, would he consider such a strange looking creature as a "spirit"?
After the appearance of Suladar’s Guardian Spirit, a voice echoed in his mind, "Choose the payment price."
Seven person’s shadows appeared before his eyes, among them were two beautiful and sexy young women, and the other five were all young men. Without any hesitation, Suladar chose one of the young women.
The Guardian Spirit extended its hand and absorbed the woman’s shadow. Back on the Red Barbarian Continent, in a meticulously crafted castle, a young lady, pampered and kept like a caged bird, was enjoying her afternoon tea, but she suddenly fell over, lifeless.
The butler in the castle seemed to know something and quietly dealt with the aftermath.
The powerful Guardian Spirits demanded a steep price for each use: the lives of those closest to the user. Hence, Suladar had been taking mistresses over the years and bearing offspring. The more people he had, the more times he could use his Guardian Spirit.
The communication between him and the Guardian Spirit was just a blink of an eye. After the Guardian Spirit had taken the payment, it raised its sword and fiercely stabbed it towards the rapidly falling Bone Mace in the sky.
Crack!
The two-handed sword shattered, and the powerful force poured into the body of the Guardian Spirit, destroying the exquisite armor, and then the Guardian Spirit evaporated into thin air!
Simultaneously, the Earthenware Jar in Suladar’s hand also shattered.
Suladar was shocked. He quickly pressed a button on one of his chest buttons. Another Divine Artifact. Immediately, Suladar transformed into a rock. A few hundred feet away, another rock morphed back into Suladar.
Boom!
The Bone Mace struck down, pulverizing the rock. Sakai and the others, previously by Suladar’s side, were instantly turned into a puddle of flesh and blood.
Suladar was still in disbelief. His powerful Guardian Spirit had failed to block a single strike from someone from the Wood Dynasty. However, the Bone Mace was already flying back towards his head.
Suladar roared, his muscles bulging, tearing his clothes apart. He used yet another Divine Artifact. It was a syringe, with six marks on its surface, but only three portions of fluid remained inside. The liquid emitted a mysterious, enchanting green light. Suladar stabbed the syringe into his heart and injected one portion.
His body instantly became as solid as steel and iron bones. He furiously grabbed the Bone Mace with both hands. Yet, he had underestimated the power of the Bone Mace once again. Even the Power of the Six Mountains combined with the Divine Artifact’s "Steel and Iron Bones" could not resist it. His feet sank rapidly into the ground, and fissures appeared on his arms.
Suladar roared again, and the syringe automatically injected another dose of the medicine.
Suladar’s body grew even larger, and the Steel and Iron Bones effect enhanced. It seemed like he could finally resist the Bone Mace. However, Owen suddenly appeared above the Bone Mace, standing on one foot on it in an acrobatic pose.
Crack----
The ground beneath Suladar cracked open, with fissures extending thousands of feet in an instant. The healing wounds on his arms split open once more.
Suladar was horrified. He thought, is the Power of Six Mountains from the Wood Dynasty so potent? But I cannot withstand the third dose of the medicine anymore.
In such a difficult situation, Suladar did not have time to consider much and tossed out another Divine Artifact. This one was a black, wooden scorpion tail, which suddenly came to life and attached itself to Suladar’s back. It extended tens of feet, and with a thrust filled with the smell of blood and potent poison, it thrust towards Owen Bertram.
Using each powerful Divine Artifact came with a tremendous cost. But at present, Suladar had no time to consider these.
Owen Bertram suddenly disappeared, using his Divine Power of "Breaking Void" to escape. The Bone Mace also quickly drew out from between Suladar’s hands, took a long path, then landed a heavy strike on the scorpion tail.
The scorpion tail was instantly reduced to dust by the immense force. A wound ripped open on Suladar’s back, staining it with blood.
He let out a painful roar, but the Bone Mace was already spinning back towards his head.
In the end, Suladar decided to go for broke and inject the last dose of medicine into his heart. His bloated body was on the verge of collapsing, expanding to a height of five cubits. Different types of growths appeared all over his body, scales and feathers grew under his skin, and a wild green light shone in his eyes.
However, this time, he managed to grab the Bone Mace with one hand!
Suladar’s mind was filled with chaos and insanity. His sense of self was blurred, replaced by a destructive impulse, a desire to tear everything apart.
