Chapter 820: Chapter 451: Demonic Sun in the Void _3
Cornelia and others were eager to take action, whispering, "Boss, should we act now?"
However, Owen Bertram continued to gaze solemnly at the ancient bronze coffin in the distance, feeling as if it were waiting for something. Moreover, he could very clearly sense that it was on high alert—this was the intuition of the Sixth Great Realm!
Owen decided it was not the best timing to act. He glanced at Shelia beside him and asked in a low voice, "Do you think we should make a move now?"
Shelia looked at the ancient bronze coffin in confusion and shook her head, "I don’t think we should."
Owen was more convinced of his judgment and said to Cornelia, "Patience."
The herb gathering team could only suppress their impatience. However, Cornelia reminded Owen, "Not everyone can hold out for long."
Glancing around, Owen realized he had been negligent. Those below the Fifth Great Realm were being eroded by the unique void here and had to use their own spiritual energy to resist it.
Considering this, he released Jerry Gourd again, who transformed into a shielding illusion over Fiona Corrine and others.
The ancient bronze coffin remained motionless, seemingly undistracted, just staring at the square entrance. After rejoining the herb gathering team, Owen used his abilities to put up a sort of "shield". In the ancient coffin’s cognition, this "tail end" of the herb gatherers was presumably already dealt with in the Mushroom Forest.
The two-colored demon sun in the sky was constant with no rising or setting. The square entrance was infinitely deep. But about four hours after they entered, a dark red flame whirlpool suddenly ignited in the depths of the entrance!
The flames whirled and surged, gushing out of the entrance. Then the dark red fire spread into the void like lava, burning swiftly until it extinguished.
The ancient bronze coffin seemed to move slightly, but appeared unchanged.
The fire tide only lasted a few breaths before it receded, and the square cave was once again plunged into darkness.
The ancient bronze coffin didn’t move, and neither did Owen and his team, who ended up waiting an entire three days! Cornelia and the others were getting impatient. Under these conditions, people’s temperament could also be unconsciously affected.
Cornellia, with her Fifth Great Realm power, occasionally had to step into the Gourd Illusion for some rest.
Owen, however, had already observed a pattern: a fire tide occurred in the square entrance every 14 hours. Several times Owen was tempted to get closer—feeling that if he did, he could sense what kind of force was contained within the fire tide.
But Owen managed to restrain himself.
Two days ago, the Chaotic Demon had also quietly tunneled in from elsewhere, concealing itself on another piece of land. That area was an enormous inverted mountain, covered with countless odd-shaped bones. It was unknown what creatures they belonged to whilst alive.
The Chaotic Demon had left a clone in the real world, and was still keeping an eye on that Divine Temple.
Three days later, the Divine Temple was finally completed—this time, nothing unfortunate happened. Sanderhagen had recovered, and Sakai could finally force himself to seem like a normal person. Sir Suladar sighed in relief; this mission could finally be accomplished.
Four members of the Red Clan stood before this grand and massive temple. Suladar personally presided over the ritual, climbing the long staircase to the main hall, ready to ignite the Fire Altar under the statue of the "Fire of the Stars".
From the surrounding woods, the roars of demon beasts and insects echoed. They had sensed something and became restless.
Suladar came before the Fire Altar in devotion, praying long and hard on his knees. Spreading his arms, he praised "My God" loudly. Then he opened his mouth, and a black flame flew out, falling into the Fire Altar.
Boom—
The flames soared high. On a certain power level, the entire temple was "ignited". In the void, this temple turned into a blazing torch, visible from afar.
The entire Copper Gorge Extinction Domain seemed to shake. The Summit Sentinel Battery surrounding the Copper Gorge immediately went on alert. The people in the Spirit Medicine Market and the Prescott Group at Looking Cloud Cliff also sensed something, fear inexplicably rising in their hearts!
A great divine power rolled across the sky and poured into the temple. The three-feet tall statue of the ’Fire of the Stars’ immediately radiated with a bright light.
In the Extinction Domain, two mysterious areas suddenly became volatile—the "nests" of the jumping Ancient Saint Essence and the Evil God Shinbone. Influenced by this, the demon beasts, demon plants, and demon insects roared in fury, forming several torrents and rushing recklessly towards the temple—however, it was unknown why the two Origin Objects remained silent.
The creatures around the temple, on the other hand, had their internal evil energy and external divine power interact the moment the statue lit up. About a third of them exploded on the spot, their bodies shattering as they died.
However, the remaining ones underwent a second transformation. They automatically gathered around the temple, their rears inwards and heads outwards. Roaring and digging at the ground, they prepared to defend the temple to the death!
Laughing loudly, Suladar said, "Let’s go!"
The mission was complete and they could retreat. After the creatures’ battle was over, they would transform into an even larger torrent of demon beasts, rushing out of Copper Gorge and spreading chaos throughout the Great Wu.
