Chapter 710: Chapter 422: Not Drinking the Toast_4

This broad avenue led straight to the residence of the Treasure Ghost Judge.

The King of Souls thought it over. His own little tower and the residences of the other three were either pitch black or desolate, not at all suitable for entertaining guests of stature.

Only the Treasure Ghost Judge, despite his late arrival, was a man of character. While his courtyard wasn’t large, it was managed with a leisure and elegance that made it perfect for entertaining esteemed visitors like the disciples of Honored Lord.

So he unhesitatingly requisitioned it.

At this point, he wasn’t aware of the past connection between the Treasure Ghost Judge and Owen Bertram, believing the judge unworthy of meeting Bertram, so he quietly ordered the Treasure Ghost Judge to manage the Grand Gathering instead of coming over and causing a disturbance.

Owen Bertram settled down in the courtyard. The King of Souls was about to accompany and speak to him when a rumbling blaze and thundering sounds broke out. The Corpse Fiend barged in, about to reveal the secret: "Let me take a look at Zh..."

Meredith glared at him and rushed to say, "Corpse Fiend, let me introduce you. This is Owen Bertram, the commander of Summit – Mr. Bertram."

Only then did the Corpse Fiend remember and awkwardly bent his gigantic body, "Greetings, Mr. Bertram."

He looked uncomfortable. "Maybe, I’ll just sit outside."

The residence of the Treasure Ghost Judge wasn’t small, but compared to the massive body of the Corpse Fiend, it seemed narrow. He didn’t want to shrink his body, as he felt it was stifling, so he sat down in the courtyard.

The King of Souls was about to scold him when the sound of rolling bones filled the courtyard, as if a flood of walnuts was tumbling off a mountainside. The Lord of the Skeleton Sea had arrived too. He was even more outrageous, as each skull piled up outside the courtyard, forming a three-foot-high wall. Every eye socket was glaring inquisitively at what was happening inside, yet only a normal-sized Skull Head rolled into the courtyard, passing by the foot of the Corpse Fiend with a disgusted expression, before rolling quickly into the house. His row of teeth clattered as he said, "Greetings, Mr. Bertram."

Then, he turned to the King of Souls and said, "Help me up onto the table, I’d like to share a drink or two with Mr. Bertram."

The King of Souls internally screamed. These two fools had tarnished the reputation of the Summit Ghost Domain. How could they leave a favorable first impression on Bertram?!

Just when he thought it was over, there was a sound of a choking, coquettish laughter. The Drowned Ghost Princess floated in, leaving a long water trail behind her. She leaned against the door, batting her eyelashes at Owen Bertram, "Dear guest, call me ’Auntie’ and I can assure you, it will work in your favor!"

The King of Souls: "..."

This team was impossible to manage, these fools!

Owen Bertram was left rather baffled by the Drowned Ghost Princess. He knew these four were usually eccentrics, but this was going a bit too far.

Just as he was about to ask why he should call her ’Auntie,’ he suddenly remembered: in the Ghost Market, within the coffin at the back hall of the One Percent Pawnshop, the Mesmerizing Demon had sensed the presence of the Master and sprung out of its coffin.

Then the Corpse Fiend in the courtyard suddenly stood up — causing the elegant courtyard, carefully managed by the Treasure Ghost Judge, to be thrown into chaos. The rockeries flew away, the bamboo poles snapped, and several fish in the pond belly-flopped.

The Corpse Fiend charged off, breaking through the wall of skulls erected by the Lord of the Skeleton Sea, causing the King of Souls and the Skeleton Lord to curse him loudly.

Mr. Bertram, lost in thought, watched the majestic figure of the retreating Corpse Fiend and silently thought: "Dave, you have a love rival now."

"Cough, I apologize for this display, the countryside behavior can be crude and lacking in manners," King of Souls scrambled to explain. Owen simply shook his hands, "Or it could be interpreted as the straightforward behavior of a gallant spirit."

The King of Souls cautiously asked, "May I inquire if there’s a reason for your visit? If we can assist in any way, we will make it our priority."

Owen replied, "I heard there’s a Grand Gathering today and there’s an item I’m interested in."

King of Souls confidently said, "No problem. Feel free to take anything you fancy."

"That’s not necessary," Owen said. "I intend to purchase it for its market price, but I’m not sure if I can find it. Could you arrange someone to accompany me? I don’t want to cause any misunderstandings in the Ghost Domain."

"That can be arranged." With a wave of his hand, the King of Souls let out a force that enveloped Owen, making him look just like any ordinary ghost.

The King of Souls wanted to accompany him personally, but Owen declined, saying that the presence of a high official like him would be disruptive to his search.

So, the King of Souls called a group of Ghost Knights, instructing them to attend to Mr. Bertram.

After thanking them, Owen, accompanied by the Ghost Knights, entered the Grand Gathering.
