Chapter 657: Chapter 409: Do Not Trust Easily_1

Sharon Mansion had already been destroyed, so there were no clues left to be found. However, Owen Bertram hypothesized that there might be a ledger in East Prison Town Comfort Office. This is the unwritten rule among the corrupt officials: they would mutually blackmail each other to gain trust.

The profits from Perry Ronald’s human trafficking in Sharon Mansion were most likely gifted to the higher-ups in East Prison Town, including Lin Ronald.

The ledger would record these transactions.

This ledger now became the sole clue to uncover the human trafficking trade. Owen Bertram interrogated the Seventh Prince and was sure that it did exist.

"Fine," the Seventh Prince reluctantly agreed, "I’ll talk to Lord Ronald, but after you finish reading the ledger in front of me, I will take it back immediately."

"As Your Highness wishes." Owen Bertram laughed in response, "I will now eliminate the treacherous Julius for Your Highness!"

Owen Bertram took to the air with a wave of his hand, and a lotus-like blue light floated under the Seventh Prince’s feet. They broke through the air together, still surrounded by evil energy, which would prevent the Seventh Prince from being contaminated again as long as he stayed close to Owen.

The Seventh Prince guessed from his tone, "Could it be that Abner Lane is hiding in the dark?"

With the Sixth Great Realm’s body technique like lightning, they swiftly arrived at the location of the battle between Julius and Ice and Snow Divine Sword. The Seventh Prince looked out, seeing Julius standing tall in mid-air like a deity, his hands constantly waving and brandishing. A cold-glowing Flying Sword circulated around him, continuously attacking.

However, in Owen’s eyes, he could see the rules and traps that Julius had set up, making it extremely treacherous. The Sixth Great Realm’s control over a Domain could indeed confine a Tire-7 Sword Artifact. And to escape, the Tire-7 Sword Artifact had to rely on its great power to break through everything that stood in its way.

If it failed to break free... it would be trapped until eventually, it surrendered or was destroyed.

Those below the Sixth Great Realm could not even see how dangerous the battles between the Sixth Great Realms were - like the current Seventh Prince.

At first, Julius was excited because he sensed that the Ice and Snow Divine Sword was not being controlled by anyone! He was quite confident that he could use his Domain to subdue this Tire-7 Sword Artifact.

But in the middle of the battle, Julius realized something was off. This Sword Artifact seemed "smart". It jumped and broke through many traps that could have ensnared an average Tire-7 Sword Artifact!

After a long battle without any victory, Julius became uneasy. If Owen Bertram returned to kill him... Julius hesitated, but right at that moment, the Ice and Snow Divine Sword sensed his intention, entangled again, and Julius feared that it would take advantage of his escape attempt to launch another attack!

When Owen Bertram returned with the Seventh Prince, Julius was trapped in an embarrassing situation: he couldn’t win nor could he run away.

Owen Bertram looked coldly at Julius, holding his palm flat in front of him, a brilliant spiritual light above it conjuring another Tire-7 Sword Artifact! Julius was startled; he was already struggling with one, but now there was a second one. If Owen really attacked, Julius would have a hard time escaping!

With only a moment’s distraction, Julius suddenly felt his entire Domain shattered, and a Sword Artifact flew in from outside, striking his head. Julius in the Sixth Great Realm was rendered powerless, locked down by chains condensed from the Sword’s spiritual light, unable to move.

"Abner Lane!" Julius cursed inwardly, realizing Owen had used the second Tire-7 Sword Artifact to distract him and create an opportunity for Abner to capture him. Without Owen, Julius might have been bested by Abner but not easily captured- not by Abner, who was yet to evolve his Mini-world.

Of course, Owen was bluffing. If he really wanted to fight, he would have used his own Five-toothed Flying Sword instead of the Tire-7 Mountain Abyss Sword.

This Tire-7 Sword Artifact was just for intimidation.

Once the root of the grey mist was gone, Owen Bertram barely managed to contact Master Lane. He asked for his help because he did not want to kill Julius. Someone of the Sixth Great Realm was incredibly valuable to the Wood Dynasty, and killing him would be a waste.

Master Lane agreed with Owen’s viewpoint and was willing to make the effort to capture Julius, so they could have a "talk".

If they couldn’t reach an agreement, in the future, Julius could be used as a high-level expendable pawn in battles against Nanni Nation, Red Race, or Sang Island. In short, they needed to emphasize "economy and frugality."

Abner Lane caught Julius and left without any delay, not even giving a greeting to Owen Bertram and the Seventh Prince.

The Seventh Prince observed and reassessed his opinion of Owen: firstly, Owen was bluffing when he claimed he would "eliminate" Julius, the experienced Sixth Realm practitioner.

Moreover, Julius’s analysis that Colby Dominic’s fight with Owen was staged - turned out to be true. Owen never dared to make a move against Julius from the beginning, relying on the two Tire-7 Sword Artifacts to save face.

Secondly, Owen and Abner Lane had an excellent relationship, which perhaps went beyond a simple hierarchy. Owen could effortlessly call Abner to help him solve problems- like capturing Julius- and Abner’s hurried departure showed that there were no false courtesies between them.
