Wayne Malvin ranked second on the Dragon and Snake List B, and everyone said his future was boundless. Despite being harassed by a series of major cases recently, Colby Dominic still held a proud banquet to celebrate with his close friends and family.

Only Wayne Malvin seemed unhappy. However, his mood had improved considerably in the past few days. Wayne Malvin was somewhat of a playboy - which was why he had got into trouble with Nick Liam in the first place - so he warmly and actively helped Catherine out with her tasks. Being a capital native and a member of the Horizon Bureau made him far more effective than Catherine. Catherine didn’t wish to incur any debts, but sometimes she did need Malvin’s help, and they gradually became more familiar with each other.

Owen Bertram went to find Leroy Baker: "You’re about to be cuckolded, aren’t you going to worry?"

With a blank face, Leroy looked at him. Owen Bertram felt that his choice of words was inappropriate, so he rephrased it, "You’re about to be stolen from your love!"

"Which love?" Leroy asked. As a young master, his love was plentiful. His pond was vast, after all, full of numerous fish.

"Catherine!" Owen Bertram recounted all of the recent assistance Wayne Malvin had provided Catherine. "Wayne has wild ambitions. Be careful!"

Leroy looked at him sideways, "Sir, you aren’t the type to sow discord. Just say what you want me to do directly."

If there was a dispute between Owen Bertram and Wayne Malvin, Leroy shouldn’t theoretically get involved. Wayne Malvin had the backing of Colby Dominic, and offending the Central Prison would certainly impact Leroy’s business-contrary to their live and let live creed.

However, Leroy had already confirmed with his father that he would invest his part in Owen Bertram’s ventures, so of course he needed to support him to the fullest.

Owen Bertram said: "Lord Liam has asked me to give Wayne Malvin a thrashing. This failed to happen on the Dragon and Snake List. You know Lord Liam’s temper. Hence, I have to accomplish this."

Leroy scratched his chin thoughtfully. The two sly fellows quickly devised a plan... Just as they were finalising details, a servant came to report, "Young master, someone has dispatched an invitation. It’s signed by Fairy Catherine and Lord Wayne Malvin."

The two men exchanged glances inside the room: these two hosting a banquet together- there’s a problem.

Catherine didn’t want to owe any favors, but it was undeniable that Wayne Malvin had been very helpful recently. Therefore, before she left the capital, Catherine prepared invitations for a farewell banquet to thank Malvin.

Wayne Malvin proposed to seize this opportunity to invite all the Heaven’s Chosen of the same class for a reunion since they would soon scatter across the world with few such chances in future. Catherine felt it was inappropriate, but Wayne Malvin insisted on arranging everything and covering all costs. Catherine would simply need to attend as a guest of honor, so she couldn’t refuse him anymore.

The banquet was held at the Adam Tower, a frequented place in the capital. Not only did it serve top-tier food and drinks, but it was a theater troupe itself renowned throughout the capital for its superb singing. What’s more, it was situated near two notable places - a gambling house and the Insect Arena - each of which had back doors leading to the Adam Tower.

Of all the ranks on the Dragon and Snake Lists A and B, only two people didn’t receive invitations: Owen Bertram and Glenn Mitchell.

On the evening of the banquet, Leroy Baker arrived at Adam Tower dressed ostentatiously in a manner that screamed "I’m very wealthy". He was welcomed by the staff at the entrance and led to a spacious private room on the fourth floor.

The window of the room opened to a view of the theater performance below, but when closed, it offered excellent sound isolation to avoid any disturbance.

Upon seeing Leroy Baker enter, Wayne Malvin walked up to enthusiastically greet him, "Brother Baker has arrived. Thank you for gracing us with your presence."

"We are among the same class. Don’t be formal, Lord Malvin."

"Please have a seat. As soon as the others arrive, we will start our meal."

"Well, I will surely make the most of this occasion and enjoy your hospitality today."

However, he soon found no reason to laugh. Leroy Baker, the rascal, managed to get oneself seated right next to Catherine. Among the four female cultivators present, they had all decided to sit near Catherine. Instead of eating, Wayne Malvin looked at everyone, lightly smiled and kept down his chopsticks. "All right, then.
