Chapter 427: Chapter 345 Showing Family Status through Division of Spoils_2

As the insect antennae spun faster, the black wind also intensified. Even the combined efforts of Insect Lord and Mesmerizing Demon were barely enough to maintain their balance. This was one of the Thirteen-Colored Strange Butterfly’s six divine powers: the Benedict Wind!

At Owen Bertram’s command, Gourd Elder sprang into the air, firmly pinned to Insect Lord’s back.

The Gourd Elder didn’t need to get bigger – by continuously increasing its own weight, it could hold down the raging winds so that Insect Lord and Mesmerizing Demon could steady themselves.

However, that Benedict Wind power was far more formidable than merely causing turbulence. The wind seemed to carry countless sharp blades, that clanged against Insect Lord, creating a cacophony of sounds similar to clashing weapons.

Owen had fortified the Insect Lord with the Heavenly Destiny Armor Skill. The tough insect shell was covered with scars from cleave and slash, but remained intact.

In the Benedict Wind, fierce lightning thundered down. The insect shell began to falter, which prompted Jerry Gourd to float out, enveloping the Insect Lord.

If Owen had initially revealed all these "otherworldly treasures" to Insect Lord, the Thirteen-Colored Strange Butterfly would definitely have been on high alert and there would have been no chance for an ambush to cut off the critical "Void Armor" insect antennae.

The Thirteen-Colored Strange Butterfly struggled violently, but could not break free from the binds of the Immortal Binding Rope. In desperation, it let out a series of urgent cries. It waved its antennae again and countless emerald flames fell from the sky, instantly igniting and threatening to consume the Gourds and insect tribe!

One of the six divine powers: Phosphorous Fire.

Joseph Gourd then blew out a mist of water carrying extreme cold, instantly extinguishing the phosphorous fire on the ground.

It was the Extreme Cold Water he had recently collected!

Not only that, the power of Extreme Cold Water traced back along the phosphorous fire’s path, gradually beginning to ice over that insect antennae.

The Thirteen-Colored Strange Butterfly was startled. This opponent has too many otherworldly treasures! At this moment, even it, not being overly bright as a demonic being, sensed that something was amiss: Could it be that I’m being plotted against?

Biting its metaphorical bullet, it swung its huge wings, in a forceful attempt to break free from the Immortal Binding Rope.

However, how could the Immortal Binding Rope possibly be broken? After several tries, the rope remained intact while parts of its wings ended up getting ripped.

The Thirteen-Colored Strange Butterfly was practically panicking at this point and lashed out at itself with its wings!

The Immortal Binding Rope was only wrapped around the back half of its body, near its tail. If it could just cut off this part, it could escape. Although this would leave it severely injured, it wouldn’t die immediately. Once it had recovered, it could seek revenge!

So, it struck down with all its might. The strike caused it to tremble all over in excruciating pain, and a huge wound appeared, out of which mixed purple-green blood burst out. Bracing through the brutal pain, it readied itself for another strike to escape when it suddenly noticed something that looked like a Jade Cicada fly out.

ZZzz——

An intangible wave swept out from that object, a sort of primal force that naturally subdued the insect monsters. Other demonic beings might not feel this, but the Insect Lord and Thirteen-Colored Strange Butterfly felt as if the entire heavens and earth were pressing down upon them.

It was under the effect of this Jade Cicada Responsive Object that Owen originally managed to subdue Insect Lord, resulting in his decisive betrayal of Sherry.

Although the present Thirteen-Colored Strange Butterfly was stronger than the Insect Lord, it too was weakened and slightly dazed on the spot, especially since it had a self-inflicted injury.

In that brief moment, Owen let loose an arrow.

The last remaining arrowhead, capable of slaying creatures of the Sixth Great Realm, pierced through the Thirteen-Colored Strange Butterfly.

A large transparent hole appeared on the butterfly’s head and with a piercing scream, it rolled in the air a few times, bound by the Immortal Binding Rope, and then heavily crashed onto the ground. It twitched a few times before it finally stopped moving.

Owen heaved a silent sigh of relief. Except for the last strike, he had remained hidden, after all, safety was paramount when dealing with a Tier-6 Demonic Beast.

Owen appeared from afar and rode on the Magpie, who was full of fighting spirit, towards the corpse of the Thirteen-Colored Strange Butterfly. The Magpie insinuated that if he devoured the butterfly, the "eyes" on its tail would finally open.

Yet, just as Julian Gourd was about to approach the corpse, Little Loach suddenly thrashed about, splashing water everywhere. Before Owen could react, Little Loach had already stretched from Julian Gourd, and gulped down the entire body of the Thirteen-Colored Strange Butterfly in one swallow.

Magpie, Mesmerizing Demon, and Insect Lord cried in unison!

Why should they do the hard work of fighting the beast while Little Loach reaped the benefits? Just because he was in a high position didn’t mean he could bully them! Look, even the Master was displeased.

After Little Loach swallowed the Thirteen-Colored Strange Butterfly in one gulp, Owen caught it. Little Loach wanted to shrink back but didn’t have the chance, so it had to discuss terms with Elder Brother obediently: I assure you I will repay this!

Owen was satisfied and let go, allowing Little Loach to shoot back. The Magpie and the others remained dumbfounded: Had Master let him off so easily?

The Gourds unanimously agreed to this, having initially chosen to follow the Master for the sake of Little Loach.

However, because Little Loach had "sneaked a bite", a few remainders were left. One was the insect antennae of the "Void Armor" which was cut off by Sword Pill; the other was the insect brain that was shot out by Owen.

Owen had made a large hole in the head of the Thirteen-Colored Strange Butterfly, and the majority of the insect brain was flung out, staining the ground.
