Chapter 341: Chapter 317: A Large Group of Night Ghosts by the Lake (Part 1)_1

Everyone on the treasure ship saw many familiar cultivators with severe injuries, and several Pill Masters attending to their wounds.

Cecil Owen’s voice resonated from the top of the ship: "Don’t panic, you’re in the Fifth Great Realm now, come up and talk."

"Yes."

Sheppard Owen responded, and then Cecil’s voice echoed once more: "Please invite my nephew Rachel to come up too."

Rachel immediately replied: "Your nephew obeys."

Before these two went up, Sheppard Owen instructed Randolph: "Settle everyone down."

Emma Scott was a little upset: despite arriving here, the Scott Clan was still looked down upon – it seemed that Sheppard had already reported to Cecil Owen about the Clan’s significant loss in strength.

Randomly indicating several rooms on the lowest level of the ship, Randolph said, "You all rest here first." Then he hurried away with Master Megan, seeking a Pill Master who could treat her injuries.

On the way back, everyone watched Master Megan lament. They all knew Lord Algernon had profound knowledge in pill refinement but no one dared to utter a word.

The condition of the rooms in the lowest level of the ship was self-explanatory – it was slightly better than the rooms located under the deck, signifying their status within the alliance.

Emma Scott and the Elder both looked at Owen Bertram. He gave a small smile and said, "Let’s settle down first. We’ll talk about it tomorrow."

The others in the team didn’t know what was going on, but Owen Bertram had a rough idea.

After the groups of Demon Beings had passed, Owen Bertram had asked Magpie to come early and have a look – though current Magpie couldn’t approach the battlefield either. Repelled by the rampant energy of heaven and earth over ten miles away, it could only retreat a bit further and have a distant look.

The battle took place near a vast lake. The one who took the shot was not only a Sixth Great Realm cultivator but was also an alliance leader outside of Cecil Owen.

However, the Human Race cultivators were not the attacking party, but rather, were miserably slaughtered by mighty Demon Beings.

It seemed a Tire-7 Demonic Beast was hiding in that lake. Not only did it have the power to move mountains and fill seas, but by its current level, its wisdom was no less than a human’s.

Nestled around the large lake, it had gathered many Tier-6 Demonic Beasts. Utilising the divine powers of heavens and earth, they had the Human Race in dire straits, causing them to retreat continuously.

However, the aim of the Demonic Beasts seemed to be just guarding the large lake. Fearing being lured from their posts, they would attack no more than twenty miles from the lake and then they would refuse to give chase.

Cecil Owen’s treasure ship was stationed fifty miles from the lake.

In such a level of battle... Lord Algernon did not want to get involved.

After Randolph casually allocated a few rooms to them, they opened the doors to find there wasn’t enough space. The bottom rooms on the ship were originally small and only five were vacant, the rest were filled with various supplies.

In the entire bottom layer, it turned out they were the only ones there. The rest were lodged above.

The male cultivators could squeeze a bit, but who would dare to cram Owen Bertram into a room with them?

Even if the female cultivators were four to a room, it would take two rooms, that’s three rooms taken up, leaving only two. There was no way they could all fit.

Everyone was greatly angered. Even the usually jovial Elder was somewhat fuming. The Lloyd Sect had two Fifth Great Realm cultivators, yet they dared to treat us this lightly?

The Elder went out on the deck to demand upper rooms from the Divine Strategy Alliance members and it quickly became a dispute.

At this moment, Rachel came down with someone from above. After asking about the situation, she too was enraged and went straight up to see Cecil Owen but did not succeed – Cecil Owen’s four personal disciples stopped her. They explained: Cecil Owen was meditating to recover, he was somewhat injured during the daytime battle.

In the end, it was Sheppard Owen who stepped in. After asking about the situation, he appeared quite embarrassed: "There really is no room on the ship. You’ve seen it too, there are many injured people. These people need to rest, one room each, the injured can’t possibly be crammed together."

Then he said to Rachel: "Although it’s a bit crowded, please bear with it."

Rachel’s expression darkened: "The Lloyd Sect is also a first-class sect, not weaker than their Illusionary Monastery and Dragon Emperor Hall. Why should we tolerate their bullying?"

Sheppard Owen spread his hands: "This is the situation at present, I can’t help it."

As Sheppard Owen was speaking, Cecil Owen’s first disciple, Edmund, strides forward and asked coldly: "Master is in seclusion, who dares to make noise here?"

Rachel narrates the situation in anger, only to be scolded by Edmund: "We are cultivators. We can withstand the hardship of wind and frost. You are here to participate in the war, not to enjoy luxuries. It’s only for one night, how bad could it get? What’s all the fuss about?"

"Go away immediately. If you find this unfavorable, you can leave the ship right now! There are plenty of places outside, but the Extinction Domain is extremely dangerous at night. Let’s see if you dare to leave!"

After declaring this, he turned around and left. Rachel looked furious and Sheppard Owen next to her seemed delighted.

Rachel didn’t say a word and turned to leave. Once she came down and explained the situation, everyone blew up: "This is too much!"

"They obviously look down on us. If this is what they intend, why did they force us to join this alliance?"

Among the crowd, only Owen Bertram remained calm. At his level, he had absolute confidence that he wouldn’t be "looked down upon" from any perspective.

Even in front of peak powerhouses of the Seventh Level and the Prime Minister – the first person in the Imperial Court, he had such confidence.

Apart from him, even the two Fifth Great Realm cultivators in the team did not have this confidence.

Only Owen Bertram could see clearly, why the Lloyd Sect and the Scott Clan receive such treatment.

Cecil Owen pulled them in because they were easy to manipulate and made the best cannon fodder. In addition, they somewhat increased the alliance’s overall strength, exceeding that of the other three forces on paper.

Don’t even think about not being cannon fodder. With a Sixth Great Realm cultivator at your back, it isn’t up to you whether you want to be cannon fodder or not.

And precisely because they joined under duress in the beginning, they were not respected.

The Divine Strategy Alliance needs no mention. The Illusionary Monastery and Dragon Emperor Hall are on guard for you to steal glory and share treasures, of course, they are full of hostility.

Owen Bertram indifferently said: "He’s asking us to leave the ship? Let’s leave then. This place is indeed uncomfortable. We have the Mechanism Beehive Fort and Poison Shadow Oak, safety won’t be an issue."

Everyone clenched their fists: "Being with the Lord is refreshing! Let’s go, we won’t take their shit!"

The entire group immediately flocked off the ship.

On the top floor of the ship, Edmund and Sheppard Owen stood behind a window, watching them leave the ship and head backwards. Sheppard Owen asked with concern: "Could this backfire? What if they run off ..."
