Chapter 307: Chapter 298: Solidifying Ghost Reality in the Nether Lake (Three in One)_2

In the middle of the lake grew a stout fruit tree. Like a giant umbrella, its branches and leaves were spread out, and underneath the lush green leaves hung fruit the size of fists, radiant in color.

Magpie seemed to be targeting these fruits as she swooped down with her sharp beak aimed at the largest fruit.

Just as Magpie was about to peck the fruit, an enormous figure suddenly rocketed up from the calm lake surface, opening its mouth wide to bite at Magpie’s neck!

Magpie unfolded her wings, flapping forcefully forwards. It was an astonishing sight as her vast body hovered in mid-air, precisely dodging that gaping mouth. Then, it quickly extended two robust claws, grasping onto the upper and lower jaw of the creature.

As the creature tried to forcefully shut its mouth, Magpie stood firm and pushed her legs apart. The forces between them seemed evenly matched, leaving them at a stalemate.

Once again, Magpie put in a strong flap of her wings, lifting the shadowy figure into the air!

If Sophia were here, she would surely yell out. Magpie’s tactic now was the same as when she had eaten Sophia’s Spirit Fruits!

Splash...

Moving as Magpie pulled it, the shadowy figure was completely detached from the water, revealing itself to be nothing more than a pile of bones!

From head to tail, it resembled a crocodile, except that the tail was forked into nine sections, each ending in a bizarre skull with tusks curving outward and eye sockets flickering a faint green glow.

It wriggled vigorously, shaking the posture of Magpie. The nine bone tails raised and the skulls at their ends snapped open their mouths, biting ferociously at Magpie above.

This pile of bones was Magpie’s target all along.

However, Magpie did not anticipate the creature’s move. It caught her off guard and bit her ankles several times causing her to shriek in pain. With a release of her talons, she let go of the creature.

However, the bone creature refused to let go. All the skulls on its bone tails bit down on Magpie’s ankles. Magpie, carrying the bone creature, flapped her wings fiercely and swung, trying to shake it off.

Little Ghost Gregory Ryan was terrified. Seeing that Big Sister was not on the upper hand, he couldn’t even care about how the sunlight was harming him, he rushed out and raised the Great Seal to strike the bone creature’s head severely.

However, with a sizzle, when the sunlight hit him, smoke rose from his body. Gregory Ryan let out a mournful scream and quickly drew back, calling out in his mind: "Master, help! Big Sister can’t handle it!"

Owen Bertram was following the team slowly when he received Gregory’s call for help. His face changed instantly. Magpie was his puppet, he could comprehend the current situation with a single thought.

He shouted, "Stop!"

Then, pointing at Rachel, he said: "Wait here for me. Don’t act rashly."

Before Rachel could answer, he had already sprung up into the air and started flying swiftly at a height of about three feet from the ground. Rachel hasn’t even finished saying "hey" when Owen disappeared past a mountain peak.

On that mountain peak, there was a demon plant with leaves similar to a banana plant, coiled together. Sensing the passing prey, the leaves sprung out with a swoosh, but it failed to capture Owen. Instead of it, it angered the impatient Lord Algernon. Owen was out of sight, but a droplet of Divine Water fell from above, melting the entire demon plant. Not even a bit of grassy residue was left!

At the foot of the mountain, Rachel and the others stared in surprise. Who had annoyed the evil minister? Why was he so furious? And, what was that method of his? A strong demon plant was instantly melted!

Lord Algernon constantly shows various methods, it’s truly hard to fathom.

Elder waved and shouted, "Lord Algernon, please come back! Don’t leave us behind!"

...

At the bottom of the mountain by the lake, Magpie was still entangled with the bone creature. The creature continued to bite and tear with its massive mouth while its bone tails wrapped around Magpie, restricting her movements.

Magpie’s battle strategy was reckless. Her powerful beak targeted the creature’s monstrous skull, pecking fiercely, one blow by another.

Although her wings were restricted by the bone tails, her talons grabbed onto a bone tail and pulled forcefully, breaking it with a crack.

Summing it up in one word: Fierce!

Magpie’s battle posture now resembled a feisty "fishwife" brawling in the streets. Once provoked, she had one thought in mind, disregarding everything else, "I’m going to kill you!"

Little Ghost Gregory Ryan shouted in fear, using every opportunity to throw a brick at the bone creature}

The bone creature, despite its struggle, was clearly at an advantage, inflicting wounds on Magpie one after the other. But those wounds would heal quickly. Moreover, the pain of the wounds would only stimulate Magpie into fighting even more fiercely!

What the bone creature didn’t know, was that the Tier-6 Spirit Medicine, Spirit Fruits that Magpie had consumed in the Lifeless Gorge, was continuously exerting its effects.

Even Magpie herself didn’t know!
