Chapter 1710: Chapter 618: I Am Not a Woman_3

The Grains God hissed angrily, "Harboring harmful birds makes you an enemy of crops worldwide! The Sect Leader won’t meet with you." Owen Bertram raised his hand, and the Divine Lord’s Remnant Soul appeared, snarling fiercely as it tried to pounce on Golden Cloud, but Bertram kept it in check.

"Your Majesty, just pass on a message. To see or not to see, the Great Sect Leader will decide for himself."

The Grains God revealed a look of fear upon seeing the Divine Lord’s Remnant Soul, asking, "Who are you, really?"

Owen Bertram replied, "Perhaps I’m like the Great Sect Leader, a person whose heart is tied to this mundane world."

Sullivan felt a shudder in his heart, his two ears cleverly shutting itself: I hear nothing, I hear absolutely nothing.

The Grains God pondered for a bit, "Fine, I will pass on your message."

Golden Cloud took back his straw man and rumbled away, leaving behind a sentence, "I advise you this: harmful birds must not stay." The Little Princess, standing behind her brother, stuck out her tongue and made a silly face at Him. Her smugness, from head to toe, was impossible to hide.

For now, Owen Bertram decided to wait, pondering: If the Great Sect Leader indeed harbors ill intentions, he has the Immortal Talisman gifted by Master Oswald and can leave the Southern Wasteland at any time. If the Talisman is restricted, he also has his Brother to fall back on. There shouldn’t be any danger.

Owen Bertram instructed everyone, "Stay close to me in the next few days and don’t wander off."

Less than one Shichen (two hours) later, a woman strolled out of the wilderness. She was taller than Owen Bertram by half a head, clad in a scarlet imperial robe, striking in both appearance and aura. Though she emitted no energy, she seemed like a worldly empress from the imperial palace. Whenever she appeared, no one could ignore her as she automatically became the center of attention.

Owen Bertram startled, stepping forward to pay his regards, "Greetings from Milton of the Eastern Land to Your Excellency, the Great Sect Leader."

Upon her nod, a grand palace appeared out of thin air with all facilities intact. She stood outside the main gate, with a long dragon-carved stone staircase in front of Owen Bertram. To pay his respects, he had to ascend the staircase.

She spoke, her voice neutral carrying self-assured royal confidence, "This is the diplomatic way."

Owen Bertram couldn’t help but comment: You just come roaring in, I thought you were a casual existence, turns out you care so much about formalities...

After some thought, he adjusted his clothes, took a deep breath, and climbed the stone steps. The dragons carved into the stone stairs seemed alive, their eyes intently focused on him.

Owen Bertram reached the top and bowed to her.

She nodded again, "Owen Bertram, the foremost of Heaven’s Chosen in the Eastern Land. I’ve heard of you," Owen Bertram responded modestly, "It’s my honor."

"It’s no exaggeration, it truly is your honor, as per my hearsay."

Owen Bertram: "..."

She opened her mouth once more: "At your side, a lackey from the Heaven Realm; On you, an aura of the Heaven Realm—you tell the Guardian General of the Faith that your heart belongs to the mortal world, are you trying to deceive me?"

With her questioning, a tremendous force gripped the entire world, pressing heavily upon Owen Bertram. He initially thought of her as a more potent version of the National Master, but now he realized he was wrong. The National Master still had the gentleness of a Sangdao woman, but this Great Sect Leader radiated a domineering air that screamed, "I am not a woman, I am neither male nor female, I am unique, unchallenged in all the world."
