Chapter 1695: Chapter 613: Playing Both Sides-1

Sullivan never expected that after connecting Owen Bertram with Master Burgess, this fellow would actually file a complaint against him so ambiguously!

Owen Bertram apologized to Master Burgess: "These days, I have not fully dedicated myself to completing Master’s task. Although it’s because I have concerns, mistakes are still mistakes. Please punish me, Master."

Now, Owen Bertram is essentially the apple of Master Oswald’s eye. In the future, his happiness in Heaven Realm lies completely in your hands, so how could he bear to punish you? Master Oswald put on an air and said, "You’re implying something. There’s no need to be like this with me. Just let me know your concerns."

Owen Bertram obliged, "I am only in the Great Concealment Realm, and I’m afraid if I really find those hidden Terrestrial Gods, I won’t be able to protect myself. While Your Excellency Sullivan may be able to help, as there is Master Burgess’ order placed there, it is possible that it may be too late, inadequate power, or even old and blind... There are many reasons at the moment, but after I die, will Master Burgess really punish him for a dead man?"

Frightened out of his wits, Sullivan hurriedly knelt down and cried out injustice, "I would never dare to defy Master’s orders! He’s just slandering me..."

However, a power fell upon him, and Sullivan of the Ninth Realm couldn’t make a sound. Master Burgess found him annoying. The more he liked Owen, the more he disliked Sullivan.

After Sullivan was silenced, Master Oswald contemplated for a moment, and a voice resounded in the void: "What you said... is not entirely impossible. It seems it is me who didn’t give it enough thought."

Owen Bertram seized the opportunity to say, "It’s not that I’m greedy; but I want to continue serving Master without receiving any rewards before completing the task." Master Oswald replied, "You don’t have to worry; I will ensure your safety." As he spoke, a connection was established between the two realms. Three points of light came from the distant darkness and arrived in front of Owen Bertram. However, they suddenly dispersed and landed in the hands of the National Master, the Little Princess, and the Mesmerizing Demon.

"These things will ensure that if you encounter the Terrestrial Gods, you will have the ability to protect yourself." Master Oswald then sternly ordered Sullivan, "Killing the target is your task, and you must not slack off!"

Sullivan was able to speak again; drenched in cold sweat, he said, "I will do my best!"

The National Master hadn’t expected to receive such a benefit. Presently, Owen Bertram was in "Grand Hidden" state, unable to take action himself, so Master Burgess could only strengthen his security.

Transforming into a small Jade Halberd in the National Master’s hand, the spirit light was emerald green and brought a chilled sensation when held. It was filled with formidable power like a ferocious beast suppressed under the Heavenly Track and could only display the combat ability of Tire-9 Magical Instruments.

The Little Princess was filled with excitement and joy at what she received. In her hand was a Bracelet that looked like a wheel. As soon as Master Burgess left, she changed her face, filled with disdain.

The Mesmerizing Demon received a Bronze Chariot only a foot long, with two Copper Beasts in front and a driver sculpture on the top. She was smiling and obviously really pleased with it.

These three were all Immortal Artifacts! However, Owen Bertram could see that these "Immortal Artifacts" were specially given to the Lower Realm. Compared to those valuable items in the Heaven Realm, their quality was far inferior. For example, among the Tire-9 Magical Instruments in Owen’s hands, even the Tire-8 Swordswoman, who would easily smash them after undergoing Heavenly Tribulation and ascending to the Heaven Realm with her master.

Once these three Immortal Artifacts were granted to the Lower Realm, they would easily crush Tire-9 Magical Instruments and obliterate all existing things in the realm due to their dominant level of suppression.

To Master Burgess and the others, these Immortal Artifacts were truly very "cost-effective."

The National Master and the others, naturally, were somewhat embarrassed to manipulate these Immortal Artifacts like children wielding big knives. The most powerful National Master could use them about five times, the Little Princess four times, and the Mesmerizing Demon only twice.

This was already enough to "protect" Owen Bertram. As Sullivan looked enviously at the three Immortal Artifacts, his eyes turned green with envy. He had been loyal to the Heaven Realm for many years and didn’t have one in his hands. The previous rewards given by the Heaven Realm were all skills, Code of Laws, and Spiritual Pills.

But he didn’t reflect on why Master Burgess would grant him those. It wasn’t because of his inadequate level of cultivation. In order to make things convenient, Master Burgess could only keep using these rewards to upgrade him and finally promote him to the Ninth Realm... and then the Heavenly Track Reversal happened.

If it wasn’t for the Heavenly Track’s revival to the extent that it could accommodate the Ninth Realm, the last access channel from the Heaven Realm wouldn’t be able to bring down these Immortal Artifacts.

After expressing his gratitude and respectfully sending Master Burgess away, Sullivan glared at Owen Bertram with hatred and said angrily, "Little men always try to measure a gentleman’s heart!" Owen Bertram laughed and shook his head, "We don’t need to debate these things." Then Owen Bertram continued, "There are some things, however, that I would like to discuss openly and honestly with Your Excellency."

Sullivan didn’t believe him: "What do you want to talk about? Do you want to set me up again?"

"Not at all," Owen Bertram replied. "The first time we met, you tried to take our lives in exchange for Master’s praise. By now, our scores should be settled. We both serve under Master Burgess; if we continue to plot against each other and harbor mistrust, we will both be punished by Master if we mess up the task."

Upon hearing that Owen Bertram intended to reconcile, Sullivan snorted and asked, "What do you want?"

"I can tell you how to find those Terrestrial Gods and cooperate with you in claiming credit before Master. I’ll admit that you came up with the strategy."
