Chapter 1680: Chapter 609: The God on Land_2
Little Princess’s face fell instantly as she watched the National Master comfortably selecting various Treasure Materials. Some of the materials were incredibly rare. For others to even have one type would be quite impressive. However, the National Master seemed to have a surplus, carefully choosing from a collection of similar materials and weighing them up.
This "others" naturally referred to Little Princess herself.
The National Master quickly selected his materials while Little Princess, despite laboring for quite a while, barely had enough resources. Seeing the vast amount of materials the National Master had, she could only drool with envy. She was too proud to beg for them and could only tilt her head to one side and stare at her brother with pathetic puppy eyes.
Mr. Sun shook his head: "Don’t give me that pitiful owl look..." Yet, Mr. Sun couldn’t resist and with a wave of his hand, he passed on a batch of Treasure Material to her. The Little Princess cheered, diving in to squeeze her brother’s neck and planting a kiss on his face.
"Hmph." The National Master seemed disgruntled, and Mr. Sun felt a bit guilty.
However, Little Princess remained innocently cheerful. She hopped off her brother and immediately began to create her substitute.
But, Little Princess was clearly lagging behind the National Master, even though she herself possessed the powerful Spirit Fire among the Divine Powers of the Flame Sparrow Clan. The National Master clearly had more experience and was far superior in terms of conceptualization. Little Princess, feeling quite dissatisfied, couldn’t help but admit the National Master’s methods were more cunning. So, she discreetly gave in and proceeded to mimic everything the National Master did.
About four hours later, a duplicate of the National Master, identical to her own image, floated in the void beside her. The duplicate’s eyes were closed, unresponsive, as if something was missing.
The National Master paused, observing Little Princess with a challenging look: "This last step, let’s see if you can figure it out yourself."
Like drawing a gourd from a template, it took the Little Princess a full shichen longer than the National Master to create her puppet. However, there was a notable difference in size between her and her duplicate!
Now she was also at the final step, with Little Princess mustering up all her determination, "You want to test me? I’ll certainly think of it on my own! I’ll brainstorm..." Little Princess tried for half a shichen, but eventually came up empty-handed!
The National Master chuckled. He said to Mr. Sun, "You imagine that once she reaches the level of Ascension, she can manipulate the shape of Magical Instruments at will... I don’t think that’s quite enough."
Mr. Sun secretly sighed. The National Master was truly cunning and he impeccably deceived Little Princess. But what more could Mr. Sun say? It was her own lack of strength that was disappointing.
The National Master told Little Princess, "Watch closely." The National Master’s jade-like fingers, sharp as a blade, cut off a lock of her hair and refined it using Spirit Fire, incorporating it into the body of the duplicate. The duplicate then seemed to have a "soul", its eyes opened, and it could even confuse real with unreal on the Heavenly Track plane!
Little Princess slapped her forehead, "Oh dear, that was so simple, why didn’t I think of it?" She reached out, pulled a feather from her armpit - causing her eye to twitch with pain - and also refined it into her puppet.
Mr. Sun was speechless: Why couldn’t you just continue to imitate and cut off a strand of hair? It hurts to pluck your own feather, why trouble yourself?
Both puppets were about sixty percent as powerful as their originals, which was stronger than when they first explored the Tail Demise Palace. Under the control of the originals, the two puppets entered the Tail Demise Palace. Mr. Sun instructed them to advance inch by inch, unlike the previous time, requesting them to thoroughly explore every inch of the Tail Demise Palace.
After many life-threatening experiences, the two puppets finally arrived at a partially collapsed side hall. The space-time here was distorted, and bizarre dangerous Radiance vortexes emerged occasionally in the air. Under a collapsed wall, there was a row of bookshelves, with several tattered ancient books still on them.
Mr. Sun’s eyes lit up when he saw these ancient books, "Try to figure out the content of the books."
The puppets found the task exceedingly difficult. Between their location and the bookshelf was a distance of only about seven or eight meters, but each step forward could potentially plunge them into a time vortex. Little Princess, since entering, had basically been a Puppet under the strings of Mr. Sun and the National Master. While she tried to take initiative, it nearly got half of her body sliced off by a gust of wind.
Mr.Sun proposed strategies at this moment, and the National Master’s duplicate maneuvered through each dangerous situation, thinking of various ways to solve the problems. Every step forward was very difficult. After two full days, they finally reached the bookshelf. Little Princess had just breathed a sigh of relief and reached out to flip through the ancient books when space began to whirl around her. Everything became unreal, and the National Master stepped forward trying to grab a book. She managed to tear off a few pages from it before she and everything else in the collapsed hall were instantly transported to an unknown location by some terrifying force.
The connection between the Little Princess and National Master, and their respective duplicates, was immediately severed. The National Master apologized: "It’s a pity. We will just create two more duplicates."
Mr. Sun, however, looked solemn and gently shook his head: "No need. The thing this official seeks was those ancient volumes, but they have now been swept off to an unknown location by those time vortexes. There is no point in going in again."
