Chapter 1669: Chapter 605: A Part of the Heavenly Track_2

Flying Sword can no longer be used, yet the swordsmanship still resides in my mind.

While rummaging through the corpses, it was evident that Octopus Leg was truly impoverished, being the lowest of the low even amongst degenerates. Conversely, Barlow’s body had quite a few items upon it. I found a water pouch made from a resilient fish bladder which I filled up then told Brother, "Get in."

With a wide-open mouth and a loud protest, Brother didn’t have much choice: "Just bear with it; these are the current circumstances. Otherwise, you will be stranded alone in this vast ocean."

Feeling wronged, Brother told me, "I’ve made a huge sacrifice just to stand by your side!" He shrank back to his initial state and crawled in. I tied the pouch up and hung it around my waist and, with the bone knife in my hand, stepped into the village.

All houses were tightly shut! Behind them hid pairs of terror-filled eyes.

Everyone knew that Octopus Leg and Barlow had set out to catch slaves. Although some thought it was cruel, since it was just a useless individual, who would dare to offend Barlow for his sake?

But now, that useless individual had come, holding Barlow’s Bone Fish Knife in his hand! They were unaware of what had happened, but they were filled with fear. I’ve been to Barlow’s house and found all of Barlow’s savings: a total of thirty-four gold shells. These shiny seashells, the size of copper coins with a hole on one end, served as the currency in this world.

There was no need to visit Octopus Leg’s house. There’s no point in expecting any valuables from such a pauper. Following that, I left the village and headed towards the nearest city.

I wasn’t jesting when I proclaimed myself as the "Overlord who descended from the sky." I actually planned to become this overlord. I found myself bewilderingly in this universe, and to return home, I must unravel its mysteries. And to do so, becoming the overlord is a prerequisite.

The nearest city was Fish Tail City. I traveled as fast as I could on foot. For a long time, I hadn’t relied solely on physical strength to traverse distances. Sweating profusely from the strenuous journey, I oddly found it extremely refreshing!

Upon arriving at Fish Tail City and observing the low stone walls and the city gates made out of robust fishbones, it finally dawned on me—this world has no flora, no minerals!

Tools such as iron implements and horse carriages did not exist in this world.

There were also no herbivorous animals in this world. I saw some creatures resembling goats during my journey. They would use their small, dense teeth to eat the soft soil and weathered rocks.

For the natives, "harvest" referred to the extraction of a substance similar to "Guanyin soil."

In Fish Tail City, there were numerous individuals who had undergone two enhancements. Upon entering the city, I attracted immediate attention, which was, of course, intentional. To quickly ascend as the "Overlord," you must make a strong show of force!

I deliberately avoided the main streets, wandering instead through narrow alleyways. I left the opportunity to you; it was up to you to seize it.

Upon emerging from the alleyways, I was carrying a few more money bags. The bullies of Fish Tail City were certainly wealthier than those of the villages. Each bully had a few dozen gold shells on their person. I packed more than two hundred gold shells into the largest money bag I found and moved flamboyantly around with it hanging off my waist.

By nightfall, the wealth I had "accumulated" had turned the entire city green with envy.

I purposefully chose an inn, casually throwing the gold shells onto my bed, forming a substantial heap. However, none of the real "powers" in the city rashly took action against me. A "useless individual" able to amass such a fortune must have strong backing.

Several "powers" within the city teamed up and covertly surrounded the inn. It was no longer a question of money now.

The heads of these powers were discussing the "battle plan," and outside their perimeter, there was a larger "encirclement"—the city walls. The ordinarily nonchalant city army was fully armed and atop the city wall tonight. On the city gate tower, the city lord, along with his officers, were waiting for the result of the impending battle at the inn.

The officers were somewhat expectant. They asked the city lord, "Sir, could this individual indeed be the Overlord who descended from the heavens?" The city lord was seated at the front of the table, laden with delicacies. Still, he had no appetite. With anxiety in his heart, he replied, "The outcome of the battle will reveal everything."

In the second half of the night, the "big powers" launched their attack. The news quickly reached the city lord: "Four of their warriors who have undergone five enhancements are leading the assault."

The city lord let out a breath. This should be the strongest force these powers could muster. Shortly, the second piece of news arrived: "The attack failed. None of the enhanced warriors survived."

"That man has come out!"

"The powers have disintegrated."

"None of their leaders managed to escape!"

The officers were stirred, "Sir..." The city lord raised his hand, "Let’s wait a bit longer." Soon, another piece of news arrived: "He has returned, and the lights have gone out in his room."

The city lord beckoned everyone to sit down, "Have something to eat and let him rest. We shouldn’t disturb him. We’ll go visit him when day breaks."

Within the next few days, the Nelson Tribe was abuzz. A disheveled man from an isolated place called "Fish Tail City" called himself the Overlord who descended from the skies to oppose the Guest Clan Overlord on our tribe’s behalf!

Who could stand it?!

So he fought his way through to the Nelson’s "Holy City." All challengers fell at his feet without exception, while he maintained his "useless" demeanor, unchanged and with the Fishbone Knife he brought from the small fishing village in his hand.
