Chapter 1600: Chapter 582: Guardian_4

Boise has always been known as "barbaric" in Central State, with its landscape filled with mountains and rivers for thousands of miles. The people living there built nests on cliffs and ancient trees, eating wild fruits and hunting wild animals. They were all strong and agile, moving through the trees and climbing the mountains like monkeys.

Their Cultivation Army is considered the strongest in Central State, but their Protector is slightly weaker. Otherwise, they would not be content to hide away among the mountains.

Douglas Country is very troubled by such a neighbor. Their northwest defense line requires a large army to be stationed, and a Protector to be present, consuming countless money and supplies every year. Even so, small-scale forces from Boise would frequently infiltrate their territory, causing havoc before calmly retreating. Unless powerful cultivators intervened, the Cultivation Army on the defense line was helpless to stop them.

The Seven Stars Mountain Extinction Region in Douglas Country is actually not very well-known. It has a limited scale and resources, and since it’s adjacent to the northeastern defense line, it was already developed by the Reclamation Legion. Now there are 800 people stationed there, and the total value of various materials produced every year is about 370 million Spirit Jade, which are all supplied to the northeastern defense line.

That amount of money... could only provide enough for Fairy of Reflection to use her "Mountain-transforming Sword" technique twice.

When Mr. Sun arrived at Seven Stars Mountain, the northeastern defense line of Douglas Country was very lax, because for some unknown reason, Boise had not sent any small-scale raids for seven months. The frontline commanders had recently been burning incense diligently: May heaven protect us!

They didn’t know that the worst news would soon come from Black Dragon Gorge Forbidden Area: all the veteran Protectors of Douglas Country had perished. The newly promoted Protectors were equivalent to those from Boise, and war and chaos had become inevitable.

In the sacred mountain "Snow Peak" of Boise, there was a small team of ten who, effortlessly swinging through the dense forest like kids on a swing, traversed through the wilderness. Each of them wore soft armor made of seven-colored beast skins—they were the Cloud Palace Martial Gods of Boise, the strongest group of cultivators in the country!

With solemn expressions, they appeared beneath the "Heaven Reaching Bridge," the main peak of Snow Peak. They then looked up at the mountainside, which was shrouded in a bewildering fog of snow. The ten of them nodded to each other and sat down to wait: "It’s not the time yet."

At the highest point of Heaven Reaching Bridge, hidden among the clouds, there was a hut seemingly about to collapse. Surrounded by strong winds and extreme cold, anyone ordinary would be instantly frozen into an ice corpse if they ventured there. Yet, the hut, made of straw, had stood there for thousands of years!

Inside the hut, it was still bitterly cold. An elder sat in the snow, staring intently at a small icy spring in front of him. In it, three nearly transparent fish lazily swam around, refusing to move for a long time. The elder wore an even more noble black robe instead of the seven-colored armor, and on his left shoulder hung a ribbon of starlight. In his hand was a rosary made of skulls which came from dozens of powerful Demon Beasts. His position was even more honorable than those of the Cloud Palace Martial Gods—he was the Chief Witch of Boise, equivalent to the Chief Protector of other countries!

Boise had not invaded the south in recent months because the Chief Witch had made a prophecy: lay down arms temporarily and prepare for a great event.

The ten Cloud Palace Martial Gods had come here by his command and were now waiting at the foot of the mountain. Suddenly, the three fish in the icy spring moved simultaneously, and a black vortex appeared in the eyes of the Chief Witch. He analyzed the prophecy’s meaning, and the next moment he appeared in front of the Cloud Palace Martial Gods, his voice filled with endless joy: "Let’s go—to Seven Stars Mountain! After tens of thousands of years, we have finally welcomed the Envoy who will resurrect our Guardian God!"

"Protector? Ha, ridiculous. Only the Guardian God can protect our race’s soul fire from being extinguished in the face of worldly upheavals!"
