Chapter 1565: Chapter 573: Divine Soul Scar_3
Mister Sun’s three fingers moved in unison, causing the Illusion Mirage Avatar’s body to stiffen. Its eyes rolling back in its head, it slipped into unconsciousness. Once it was unconscious, the mist around its body, no longer controlled, dissipated fully, revealing the true form of the divine beast. Mister Sun could not help but chuckle at the sight of a large-headed hippopotamus-like creature, an incredibly comical, strange figure that hardly matched the sinister, cunning image of the Illusion Mirage Avatar.
"You’re always hiding behind an illusion, probably because you’re afraid you’ll lose all your intimidation once you’re exposed, right?"
The Illusion Mirage Avatar could not respond. Only after some time passed, it began to stir awake. Seeing that its fog had disappeared, it realized its true form had been exposed. It was overwhelmed with grief, letting out a miserable howl, and seemingly even shedding two large tears.
Then, it forcefully expelled a dense fog, bundling itself up completely like wearing a padded coat.
Mister Sun watched coldly from the side, not interfering at all. The Illusion Mirage Avatar let out several more cries of sorrow before squatting down in stillness, but when it looked at Mister Sun, its eyes glowed with a touch of fear.
Mister Sun said, "I could directly sever your divine soul to find out what I want to know, turn you into a real avatar, but I chose not to."
The Illusion Mirage Avatar hesitated for a moment, then spouted up a ball of fog which morphed into a row of characters: Why?
"Because you are a divine beast, I should show necessary respect. However, if you remain stubborn and refuse to submit even in this situation, don’t blame me for being ruthless."
The Illusion Mirage Avatar’s mist noticeably sagged, showing its deflated spirits. After a while, it spouted another fog bubble, forming a new sentence: Useless, I cannot betray the Azure Dragon.
With that, it parted the fog slightly to reveal its divine spirit glowing with six fresh, ghastly scars, some running parallel, others crisscrossing over each other like centipedes.
The power contained within the scars was not of the Illusion Mirage Avatar but was deeply ingrained in its divine spirit.
Mister Sun had long suspected that the Azure Dragon had airtight means of controlling these divine beast avatars. When the Eight-directional Heavenly Lock fell within the Illusion Mirage Avatar, he confirmed his suspicions. But what he saw still shocked him.
However, Mister Sun quickly noticed something unusual. He let out a quiet "huh", before moving in for a closer look. After a moment, he exclaimed in surprise: "The power embedded in these scars is from the Azure Dragon...But it’s its power that patched up your damaged divine soul!"
The Illusion Mirage Avatar admitted: "If it weren’t for it, we would have perished."
Mister Sun questioned: "You should have died on the spot with such serious injuries. Is this the same for other divine beast avatars?"
A fog bubble formed into an answer: "We were all saved by the Azure Dragon like I was. We cannot tell you any secrets of the Azure Dragon. Any time these thoughts appear, the scars on our divine souls..."
Mister Sun immediately saw the greenish scars quickly turning red, as if set aflame. The Illusion Mirage Avatar’s divine soul quivered nonstop, crying out in pain: "Just like now!"
When it stopped leaking secrets, the scars slowly returned to normal. The Illusion Mirage Avatar added: "Even without these scars, I would be unwilling to disclose any information that would be detrimental to the Azure Dragon. Though it controls us, it fundamentally saved our lives."
Mister Sun rubbed his chin in contemplation. This path had reached a dead end. Everything about the divine beast Azure Dragon remained a huge mystery to him.
Suddenly, Mister Sun had an idea and immediately asked: "Does the Azure Dragon need help?"
Mister Sun had seen the Azure Dragon in two different states: complete, and in a skeletal form: "I originally thought one of these states was an illusion. But what if both are real? Just like the contradictory rumors I heard about divine beasts before entering Black Dragon Valley, only to find out upon entering that they were all true."
If both states of Azure Dragon were real, it would indicate that it was in some sort of predicament. Divine Beasts can have multiple forms but would never allow themselves to be reduced to mere bones.
"I can’t say." The Illusion Mirage Avatar responded, but its answer inadvertently confirmed Mister Sun’s speculation that the Azure Dragon indeed had a problem.
Mister Sun continued: "I can try to help you break free from the Azure Dragon’s control and you won’t have to betray it. All you need to do is give me some information that would be beneficial to the Azure Dragon."
The Illusion Mirage Avatar hesitated for a moment before responding with a fog bubble: Okay.
After leaving the All-Encompassing Small World, Mister Sun entered the Mini Water World, pulled out Brother and explained the situation with the Illusion Mirage Avatar: "Think of a solution."
Brother’s eyes popped open: "Elder brother, you’re my own brother, why are you making it difficult for me?" Elder brother was certainly generous this time: "I believe you can do it. So think, what do you need to eat to come up with a solution? I will go find it for you."
Brother waggled its tail and scratched up and down its body with its two whiskers, clearly eager to fulfill Elder Brother’s generous promise. Therefore, it decided to use a part of its body that it rarely uses: its brain. It scratched its head, pondered deeply, but after a long time, still failed to come up with a solution.
These types of things are just not Brother’s strong suit.
Elder Brother tempted Brother by increasing the reward, trigger Brother’s eyes to turn red, but it still couldn’t think of a solution. Mister Sun sighed and left the Mini Water World, but he did not give up yet.
"Brother is an idiot. When it comes to mind activities, I guess it still has to be me, the Elder Brother, to do it."
Mister Sun pondered: "I’m afraid it requires a Primordial Spirit Treasure, and it has to be of a high grade. However, treasures related to the Primordial Spirit are generally not low-grade. The question is, where can I find such a Primordial Spirit Treasure at this urgent moment?"
Elder Brother’s brain was definitely more efficient than Brother’s. In an instant, his gaze fell on the fairy: "Fairy, I want to ask you something."
After listening to his query, the Fairy replied: "I know of two Primordial Spirit Treasures. The first is held by our King, a National Guardian Artifact called the Wildland Bell. When it rings, it can shock the divine spirit, its power unparalleled; it poses a direct threat to the protector.
However, over the past thousands of years, no one has ever seen the King use this artifact, and it has never been bestowed to any protector.
Nevertheless, people speculate that it does exist and is the King’s final method to intimidate the protectors. But there are also rumors that every time the artifact is rung, it drains the energy of a Sixth Realm individual who rings it, effectively sentencing them to death in exchange."
"The second is Regan Kingdom’s National Guardian Artifact called the Heaven-Losing Gate, which can form a Tidal Vortex to capture Primordial Spirits once it is deployed. I’m not sure about its exact power, as Regan Kingdom keeps it a strict secret; therefore, few details about it have leaked."
Mister Sun stroked his chin, feeling that he might need to make a trip to the capital of Douglas Country.
Just then, the Communication Talisman left by Ava Green suddenly popped out. Mister Sun tapped it, and Ava Green’s anxious and angry voice echoed: "Your Excellency, there was a strong invader from Regan Kingdom who has just broken through, killing our seven hundred Cultivation Army members guarding an entrance to the Extinction Domain. He has entered the Black Dragon Valley. This is our common enemy!"
