Chapter 1449: Chapter 536: Traversing the Void _4

As Mr. Sun scanned Little Princess and confirmed she was fine, he breathed a sigh of relief. He put away his cymbals and released her. With a grin, Little Princess spread her arms, wanting to hug Mr. Sun, "I knew Big Brother would save me. Big Brother never lets anyone down."

Mr. Sun quickly stretched out his hand to stop her, but Little Princess nuzzled her cheek against his palm as if... Mr. Sun had wanted to touch her face! Mr. Sun felt something was off as the National Master beside him appeared unfazed. For some reason, Mr. Sun felt a great sense of danger.

The National Master didn’t say anything and turned her head slightly, revealing that the pendant under her hairpin had changed into a bird-shaped gemstone. The bird seemed as "stunned as a wooden chicken," a perfect replica of Little Princess’ earlier expression.

"Uh..." Mr. Sun made a peculiar noise in his throat but said nothing.

Little Princess remained unaware of this, given that she hadn’t had a chance to look in the mirror while she was trapped as a statue within the giant egg.

Mr. Sun decided to change the subject decisively, "Now, let’s get rid of James!" Both Little Princess and National Master had encountered danger because of James’s schemes. The National Master always carried a grudge, and Little Princess made sure to exact revenge. Both women agreed immediately, with Little Princess raising her fist and yelling, "Kill him!"

...

Following a silver thread from his Duster, James arrived in a dim space-time area. There was a large lake with a lifeless water surface, having no change for who knew how many years.

In the center of the lake was a small island, not consisting of mud or stone, but formed from a heap of corpses. Among these corpses were various strange creatures, but none were humans or demons.

On the island, there was a twisted, thick tree. Its branches stretched in all directions, covering the entire island. However, the branches were bare, with not a single leaf. "Deathly silence" was the only theme here.

Only James knew that this island was the only "graveyard" within the Tail Demise Palace. His main goal was to secure one of the corpses on the island.

But he had to wait. Through the Duster, he knew the timing wasn’t right.

A silver thread hung down from the void, and James clung to the thread like a spider. In his hand was another silver thread waiting for the right opportunity. Once the timing was right, the thread would shoot out and wrap around the object he desired.

With the other three treasures already acquired, once he had the "corpse," he could leave this wretched place. Using the gained treasures together with his theories, he could become the "Divine Lord" – even Tire-8 would be no match for him. Who would dare underestimate him in the Eastern Land or even the entire Eight Desolates afterwards?

First, he wanted to break one of the four Mountain Pillars supporting the upper realm of Myriad Demon Domain and let those foolish demons recognize that he, James, was not a mere "cook." There was no problem with his theories; it was just that they were shortsighted. Especially Dwight, who should have his mouth torn, always eating like a pig!

As for Hugo, who was a genuine pig but had the vision, he would spare his life.

Next, he would return to Greater Wood Territory and question the fools who rejected him before: Did they now think that he was a swindler? Those idiots would probably wet their pants in fear upon seeing him—it would be truly delightful!

Lost in his wild thoughts, James became increasingly excited. Suddenly, the space-time area shook slightly, and fissures appeared among the island’s corpses. The body buried deep within the island was revealed. Overjoyed, James thought, "The time has come!"

He shot out the silver thread from his hand, which passed through the fissures and wrapped around the corpse. It was a monster that looked like a cross between a sea snail and a spider. James pulled the corpse, detaching it from the island, but the ancient tree didn’t react. James was overjoyed, knowing that if he waited for the right "timing," those ancient deities wouldn’t interfere.

But just as the corpse was about to be secured, a pale golden whisker reached out from the void. It looked somewhat similar to James’s silver thread. With great agility, the whisker hooked on to the thread and pulled it, cutting the silver thread apart.

The corpse fell back to the island with a splash. Enraged that his efforts were foiled at the last minute, James looked up in terror only to see another pale golden whisker appearing beside the silver thread holding him up. With a hook and a pull, the silver thread snapped, and James plummeted towards the Great Lake below.
