Chapter 1359: Chapter 511: Double-sided Spy_2

Sir Sun wielded the Dragon-Slaying Divine Short Sword with the support of the Swordswoman, pursuing the Great Chieftain who fled three thousand miles! Sir Sun was already familiar with all of the Great Chieftain’s treasures. With each resort that the Great Chieftain turns to, Sir Sum had a strategy that counters it beforehand!

The more the Great Chieftain fought, the more wronged he felt. He felt like he was coming up short in every aspect, whether it was tactics or magical treasures, against Sir Sun. He couldn’t fathom why this was happening when he was clearly superior in terms of his background, status, fame and cultivation realm as compared to Sir Sun!

The Great Chieftain couldn’t figure out why he was in such disadvantage. If he were a cultivator from the era before the Heavenly Track Reversal, it would be easy to hypothesize that he was trapped within some time manipulation treasure. However, such treasures have already become extinct in this current era, so it would never occur to the Great Chieftain that Sir Sun would possess one.

During his three thousand miles flight, the two hundred thousand cavalry surrounding the king’s camp and a hundred tribes of varying sizes along the road all bear witness to his abject state. In view of the previous incident in the Snow Mountain Ancient Destruction Domain, the prestige that the Great Chieftain once held among the 36 Tribes of the Northern Region had been severely damaged by Sir Sun once again.

Furthermore, Sir Sun remained relentless in his pursuit, which left the Great Chieftain in a helpless situation. The Divine Short Sword in Sir Sun’s hand was terrifying enough, let alone the tier-8 flying sword that accompanied him.

In reality, Sir Sun’s ultimate weapon was the Shell Awl, but as there remained only nine shell coins, Sir Sun had no intention to expend one in order to eliminate the Great Chieftain this time.

Sir Sun carefully studied the loophole of producing shell coins from the Steelyard Treasure and concluded with regret that a limit of twelve was the maximum. If he attempted to generate more, the essence of the Steelyard Treasure would be depleted, turning it into an ordinary ancient stone.

The Great Chieftain steeled his heart and ran directly into a mysterious area deep in the snowfield. Despite Sir Sun’s relentless pursuit, the surroundings became increasingly cold, with ice forming instantly from water droplets. Even numerous demons made out of ice attempted to ambush them from the side. Unfortunately for these demons, Sir Sun and the Great Chieftain had already moved tens of miles away leaving only their afterimage in the original location.

Hovering in the air ahead was a small icy-blue sun, positioned precisely midway between the sky and the ground. This Ice Sun emanated wavelike beams of iced blue light. Within the area illuminated by it, the laws of the world took a sharp turn!

Sir Sun’s expression turned serious. He reduced his speed, but the desperate Great Chieftain charged into the illuminated area. Sir Sun suddenly stopped, looked down and noticed a slowly flowing glacial river beneath his feet, completely encased in ice; so inconspicuous amidst the frenzied chase that it might have been overlooked.

"This is a boundary line," Sir Sun mumbled to himself. Just then, a 30-feet-long ice boat drifted across the river. Sitting at the bow of the boat was a Frost Lifeform, which looked like a human but not entirely. It resembled an old monk in meditation, eyes closed, yet exuding a highly dangerous aura. It seemed to be the representative of this world, the incarnation of the Ice Sun overhead, the guardian of this... Ancestral Land of the Sky Witch!

It dawned on Sir Sun that this was the birthplace of the cultivation system of the Sky Witch Priest as per legends, the Ancestral Land of Sky Witch. However, this was supposed to have been destroyed, vanished within the river of time due to the Heavenly Track Reversal.

"Origin Resurgence!" mused Sir Sun, standing with hands behind his back, "The Origin Resurgence resurfaced the Ancient Destruction Domain, and these age-old mystic lands began to reemerge."

Sir Sun glanced at the Lifeform on the ice boat again. As long as he didn’t cross the river, it would not awaken. Sir Sun shook his head and turned away.

This time, Sir Sun had no real intention to kill the Great Chieftain. If he were to do so now, Windsor would not be powerful enough to take control of the 36 Tribes of the Northern Region. Sir Sun’s initial plan was to severely weaken the Great Chieftain, causing his prestige to plummet. This would allow Windsor to gain support from the different tribes and put him on equal footing with the Great Chieftain. Then when Windsor advanced to the Seventh Level, he could personally execute the Great Chieftain, inheriting the position of the Great Chieftain through the traditional ways of the Northern Region.

Of course, the newly promoted Cultivation King, Windsor might not have been a match for the Great Chieftain, Sir Sun would certainly provide covert assistance.

Whether the Great Chieftain died for nothing didn’t matter.

However, Sir Sun didn’t expect the Ancestral Land of Sky Witch to reopen, and moreover, the Great Chieftain took refuge inside. According to old tales, any great witch who managed to exit the Ancestral Land of the Sky Witch would greatly increase in strength. Yet, that place is incredibly dangerous, of every ten who enter, typically just one could come out alive.

"But just in case..." Sir Sun was slightly worried. However, for him to pursue the Great Chieftain inside was out of the question. The strength of the Gatekeeper was unfathomable, and since Sir Sun was not a Witch Priest, the Gatekeeper would certainly not let him in.

Sir Sun left without any regrets. While he verbally expressed his "apprehension" of the Great Chieftain, he never actually considered him as a real contender. The Great Chieftain’s erudition and stature did not seem befitting of a ruler. In the eyes of Sir Sun, the Great Chieftain was a just nuisance at best. Even if he were to exit the Ancestral Land of the Sky Witch, Sir Sun was confident he could defeat him a third time.

Moreover, Sir Sun had plans for the Great Chieftain.

...

The Nine Realms Sky lost contact with the Great Chieftain as soon as he entered the Ancestral Land of Sky Witch. She was a bit at a loss. Within the 36 Tribes of the Northern Region, she had always been attached to the position of the "Great Chieftain". Now that the fate of the Great Chieftain hung in the balance, the Nine Realms Sky felt rather alone.
