Chapter 1292: Chapter 492: Dragon Ball (Part 1)_3

Just as his split spirit was being devoured, Master Bertram faintly heard a roar of rage echoing from another layer of the void. The original master was incredibly powerful, and he had used a certain divine power to mark Owen Bertram!

After Master Bertram accessed the memory of the split spirit, he paused, understanding why the other party wanted to "mark" him, because this silhouette of a person was not a cultivator from the Eastern Land, but one from "Central State"!

Since the Heavenly Track Reversal, the Eight Desolations World lost the Three Desolations, leaving only five continents. The ancient names of these continents gradually fell into oblivion and were reclassified as: Eastern Land, West Ridge, Southern Wasteland, Northern Border and Central State.

It seems that they were renamed according to their respective "positions," but it is hard to determine if these names accurately indicate their real positions. After careful consideration, one might ask: where is the Red Clan Barbarian Continent located?

Master Bertram gleaned from the memory of the split spirit the broad situation of the Central State continent, and the formidable figure behind the split spirit was a venerable one from the Seventh Realm and Fifth World!

He is known as "Lord Solar," who holds sway over Central State, sheltering four nations under his protection and enjoying the support of twenty million citizens.

Central State was in its "Warring States Era," with over forty nations of varying sizes. Central State seemed especially vast, even larger than the Eastern Land. Cultivation resources were abundant, and although the Heavenly Track suppressed them, no Eighth Realm beings had emerged. However, the overall strength of the cultivators surpassed the Eastern Land. And because their "Warring States Era" had lasted for ten thousand years, their armies surpassed the might of the Wood Dynasty.

Each nation’s war naturally spread to the Cultivation World. Their inheritances were also different from the Eastern Land, not following the model of sects and noble families but of "Cultivation Armies." The cultivators were warriors, and from the moment of their recruitment, their primary aim was not to elevate their realm but to acquire powerful fighting techniques.

The entirety of Central State, from cultivators to ordinary citizens, was essentially a massive war machine!

Master Bertram couldn’t help but grimace, having offended a powerful and troublesome entity. However, Central State was separated by a vast ocean and was plagued by internal strife. He did not believe that a certain "Lord Solar" would abandon the four countries he was protecting to venture across the perilous ocean to the Eastern Land to cause him trouble.

Furthermore, once the entrance to the Central State’s Dragon Water Palace opened to this level of the world, it could only be entered once. In other words, Lord Solar was temporarily unable to send a second split spirit.

Master Bertram controlled the water monster, horribly scarred by the magma, to crawl out of the volcano, then he abandoned that body. The water monster died quietly beside the volcano.

Up on the arena, the True Dragon, having won two battles, was still unable to take the Dragon Pearl since another True Dragon had charged up. This new True Dragon was even craftier, showing restraint until now to finally make its move, and as soon as it got up on the arena, it gained the upper hand.

Master Bertram continued to observe, but he never spotted the National Master. Then, he began examining the surrounding True Dragons and water monsters watching the fight — this world was incomplete, although it was quite "vivid", it was not complete.

During the process of Lord Solar’s split spirit possessing the water monster, the other creatures around showed no reaction.

But it is impossible to defeat a True Dragon purely relying on the water monster. Even though each water monster here was formidable, and possessed power comparable to a True Dragon, the True Dragons held a natural domination over the Water Race, giving them the inherent disadvantage in facing the True Dragons.

Master Bertram took the risk of devouring Lord Solar’s split spirit in a bid to gain a deeper understanding of this world. The fact that the split spirit of Lord Solar immediately possessed a water monster upon entering this world, shows that he has been here before and understands this place well.

It’s not that Lord Solar did not want to possess a True Dragon, but that he couldn’t, as the True Dragons possess a formidable Dragon Might. Lord Solar had attempted multiple times and all failed, leading him to resort to these water monsters. After several attempts, he finally choose a type of water monster that were even more powerful than True Dragons, making them the most likely among the water monsters to defeat True Dragons on the arena.

But Master Bertram disagreed. From the memory of the split spirit, it was evident that Lord Solar had tried this class of water monster four times, each failing at the last minute. It seemed like a minor mistake could be corrected next time for success. But Master Bertram thought this was an illusion—new mistakes would inevitably occur next time.

This layer of the world belonged to the True Dragons, only another True Dragon could possibly defeat a True Dragon.

Master Bertram looked around. The battle on the arena was nearing its end, and the True Dragon that came later had steadily gained the upper hand. But Master Bertram’s target was still not among them. These True Dragons were powerful enough, but this was an arena, where one victor was followed by another challenger. Master Bertram needed a particularly powerful member of the Dragon Race that, as soon as it appeared in the arena, would cause the other dragons to withdraw.

He surveyed the area surrounding the arena, but no such True Dragon was present. He left the arena to search all across the vast ocean, but the result further dismayed him, because the other True Dragons in the vast ocean were even weaker, exhibiting a "juvenile" state.

It was as though only powerful members of the Dragon Race were qualified to be near the arena. The reason they didn’t go to the arena was due to their insufficient strength.

Master Bertram felt that there were clues hidden in this layer of the world, but he hadn’t discovered them yet. He returned to the bottom of the arena—like his previous comings and goings, the water monsters and True Dragons paid him no mind.
