Chapter 1286: Chapter 490: Partiality of the Water Palace_3
Sato, who had fallen to the Fourth Great Realm, stood dumbfounded. He was initially excited, wanting to use this opportunity to return to the Fifth Great Domain. However, not long after it began, his chance was snatched away, and he remained in the Fourth Great Realm.
The National Master cast an unsatisfied glance at 孙大人, who ignored it and just stared fiercely at the entrance to the Dragon Water Palace Ancient Ruins, as if protesting that he would fight to the end if the Dragon Water Palace favored his opponent again!
As for whether this would cause dissatisfaction from the will behind the Dragon Water Palace and target the six contestants of the Wood Dynasty, 孙大人 was not worried at all. My older brother is in there, try it if you dare!
Everyone leaped up from the ground and passed through the corridor, entering the next palace. As soon as they entered, the Wood People felt the Dragon Water Palace’s hostility.
Above their heads, a series of radiant runes descended with a bang. The runes entangled and transformed into a radiant great bell that covered the six of them. Immediately, six fire dragons flew from the pillars of the adjacent palace, opening their mouths and spewing six blazing flames at them!
On Sang Island’s side, the four people, too, were covered by the great bell formed by the runes, but there were only four fire dragons spewing flames, and there appeared to be fewer runes forming the great bell.
"The Great Bell is an ancient prohibition technique. We need to hurry and break the prohibition before the flames refine us!" Edgar shouted.
This round was different from the previous ones. Before, the favoritism of the Dragon Water Palace towards Sang Island was not obvious, and they appeared to be fair, allowing both sides to start from the same point. But this round was a bit more direct: After trying, everyone found that the prohibition method of the great bell was exceptional and had some suppression effects, making everyone’s magical instruments unusable within it.
Originally, Edgar and the other five had some protective treasures that they could use to block the flames and buy more time. However, now they couldn’t use them. Since the Wood People had more people, they also naturally had more magic treasures and could have used them to protect themselves.
The situation was the same on the Sangdao side, but the number of runes on their great bell was significantly fewer! In other words, despite having fewer people, Sang Island’s prohibition was weaker and had fewer flames!
孙大人 was furious when he saw this, and he muttered with a gloomy face: You’re deliberately making things difficult for me because I took your Treasure Dew and Sweet Rain, right?
孙大人 stared at the ancient prohibition great bell and took out the earthenware jar again. The jar quickly deduced a solution, but this time, the situation was different. He transmitted his voice to Edgar: "This time, you need to work together in harmony, and all six of you must act together to break this round."
Edgar and the others also felt the unfair treatment by the Dragon Water Palace and were all resentful: "Please give your instructions, sir! We will give our all, as we can’t let Sangdao people win!"
"We’ve got to fight for this!"
孙大人 was satisfied: "Alright, listen to my command..."
The National Master had also deduced the method to break through and similarly instructed the four people from Sang Island to act together to break the prohibition. Cooperation between four people was naturally better than between six, as the more people there were, the more likely mistakes would occur. Moreover, the six participants of Sang Island had been chosen by the National Master a long time ago, and they had practiced cooperation before.
However, Edgar and the others did not let 孙大人 down. They managed to take the lead, as the radiant great bell shattered with a bang. The six fire dragons on the Wood Dynasty’s side roared and pounced towards Sang Island’s side, intending to refine the four-member team with the power of ten fire dragons.
However, under the guidance of the National Master, the four of them were only a step slower. Before the fire dragons could close in, they too broke out of the great bell.
Just as the ten fire dragons were about to return to the palace’s pillars, Jorge Gourd rushed up aggressively, opened his gourd mouth, and inhaled - the ten fire dragons struggled fiercely, but both sides were at a stalemate! Jorge Gourd continued to inhale, while the ten fire dragons desperately tried to escape. The rules in the Divine Water Dragon Palace suddenly changed to suppress Jorge Gourd, but then Joseph Gourd flew into the air and collided in the void...The rules suppressing Jorge Gourd in the True Dragon Water Palace quietly shattered...
Inside the Divine River,老二 lazily turned over. These so-called True Dragons resembled me in form, but their level of existence was too low, and they were ignorant!
Whoosh-
Jorge Gourd sucked ten fire dragons into his mouth, but he, or rather 孙大人, was not willing to give up. In their palace, there were still twelve pillars, each entwined with a fire dragon! Each of these fire dragons was, in fact, a Tire-8 Pure Fire. Jorge Gourd ruthlessly sucked them all in, not letting any escape!
Edgar tilted his ear and asked Sally who was next to him: "Can you hear... it sounds like muffled thunder?" Sally listened carefully: "It doesn’t sound like thunder, more like something is roaring in a distant place."Under normal circumstances, someone would have died in this level, or even be wiped out altogether. However, by some stroke of fortune, all ten managed to survive. They were all waiting - where were the rewards for clearing the stage?
More accurately, it was the people from the Wood Dynasty who were waiting - they had won, after all! However, the palace remained silent; there were no rewards, nor did the door behind the palace hall open, allowing them to proceed to the next palace.
"Hmph!" Sun snorted coldly, straightening the collar of his robe: come on, anyone else want to target me? I won’t back down!
About the time it took to drink a cup of tea, a secret compartment opened suddenly in the pillar closest to Edgar. From it flew out two pitiful-looking Tier-6 magic treasures.
Judging from the previous rewards they had received, these rewards had been drastically reduced. Sun glared at them: Oh, you dare to deduct my rewards? It seems you still aren’t willing to submit.
The door behind the palace opened, and all ten rushed through it. Soon, they had reached the next palace, where Dragon Water Palace’s will conveyed through their actions that the dignity of the True Dragon bloodline couldn’t be violated, and those who challenged them had to be punished.
Two words: challenge accepted!
This palace featured a spacious chamber with a tall throne in the center. Below the throne stood a series of statues, all dressed in official robes, hands down as they faced the throne. Their presence was reminiscent of the courts held by the True Dragon Lord back in the day, with the statues representing ministers attending the court.
When the ten of them appeared, the statues eerily turned their heads—situated directly behind them, the statues’ bodies remained still as their necks twisted 180 degrees. Their expressions remained rigid, but their eyes, which kept rolling within their sockets, surveyed the group non-stop.
*Creak...*
A series of jerky, scraping sounds echoed as ten figures stepped out from among the group of "ministers," each selecting their opponent.
However, the four Sangdao participants had adversaries who stood at the very back of the group, while all six Wood Dynasty participants had opponents who were in the first row of officials!
Outside the palace, upon the Spirit Leaf Immortal Boat, the cultivators of the Wood Dynasty swore angrily, "Did Sangdao use some evil technique to curry favor with the Dragon Water Palace? Why are they so partial to them?"
"Back in the day, the True Dragon here was a deity who enjoyed the offerings of Sangdao, and now they’re still protecting them!"
"Blind masses! My Wood Dynasty is thriving, producing numerous talented individuals; the achievements of those following the Wood Dynasty are vast. Yet they choose Sangdao for some reason! When Sun takes his army to the east one day, this shitty palace will have to accompany Sangdao to the grave!"
The expression on Sun’s face darkened further. The Dragon Water Palace was proving to be quite stubborn. It seemed they had not been tortured enough, or made to submit! However, that didn’t matter, as Sun enjoyed taking on opponents like this.
Sun surveyed the palace, his gaze falling upon the throne at the front. The ministers were arrayed around an empty throne. Sun contemplated this in his heart, then communicated with the Gourd Brothers.
Suddenly, one of the gourds expanded dramatically, and Edgar vanished into it with a shake. Soon after, the gourd—Julian—disappeared as well, showcasing his unbeatable escape technique.
Sun rarely utilized Julian; as his own strength grew ever stronger, he had lesser need for an escape technique. However, they were limited by the rules imposed within this great hall and couldn’t blatantly cross it to ascend the throne. Julian was just the right tool for this job.
Before the Dragon Water Palace could react, Julian appeared on the throne!
*PTUI* Julian spat Edgar out, who looked utterly bewildered as he sat on the throne. Next to his ear, the furious roar from before rang out once more, louder and seemingly closer than before.
Then, Edgar, with a stroke of luck, raised his head. A tremendous force descended upon him, conjuring up a halo of light that formed into an imperial crown atop his head.
The statue of the high-ranking official who had faced Edgar just moments ago exploded with a *POOF* into dust.
