Chapter 1201: Chapter 467: The Seal of the Ten Thousand Dead Demons_1

Owen Bertram’s voice, tinged with complaint, seemed to travel from the Red Horse and Life Gate, "We’re not allowed to enter this place? You didn’t tell me that, you should’ve said it earlier..."

Inside the Red Horse and Life Gate, Predecessor Santa looked gravely at the world before them, speaking with annoyance to Owen Bertram, "Enough of this act, they can’t see us anymore."

In reality, Owen Bertram hadn’t truly let his guard down, because he was equally surprised: We’re in already? The Red Horse and Life Gate didn’t resist them with full force as expected from history, but rather, "welcomed" them all with a bit of an absorbing force. After they traversed through a channel of blood-red meteor flames as intruders, everything went suddenly silent, and they found themselves in a dead quiet world.

It seemed like even the wind was still here.

The earth was barren, blanketed in numerous fissures. Ancient trees lay fallen, dry and splintered, the distant mountains silently crumbling, first splitting into large rocks, then the rocks further shattering into smaller ones, and finally slipping down like grains of sand.

The whole world was devoid of any hint of life-giving green, the sky empty and void of a single mosquito or bird.

Faraway in the sky, there was a long, dark wound in the void. Through this "wound", you could see the many-colored starlights of outer space. Occasionally, a massive stream of light particles would burst through the wound into this world, adding another layer of damage to the already dead silent world.

"What in the world happened here?" Even Predecessor Santa couldn’t help but exclaim: the original Demon Wizard Blood Sea might have devoured living beings, but it was not entirely devoid of vitality. In fact, around the Demon Wizard Blood Sea, the blood-red energy was always overflowing, even though it was evil, it was full of an unusual vitality.

Owen Bertram raised his hand, and a gourd slowly rose. The Thousand Doors Eye cast out beams of green light, sweeping over this world. A moment later, Owen Bertram shook his head, "Nothing. This world has already turned into ashes."

Magpie fluttered around, stirring up a whirlwind, which would quickly subside on its own.

"Chirp chirp!" Magpie called out a few times, pointing with her huge wings in a certain direction. Everyone followed her lead and flew off. After around a few hundred miles, they saw a blood pool, only about an acre in size. Due to the formation of the pool’s bottom, the acre was split into almost evenly sized two pools, with around about two feet wide waterway in between. From up above, the blood pool resembled a red-colored dumbbell.

The blood in the pool was thick like gruel, feeble bubbles rose to the surface. When these bubbles burst at the water’s surface, there was a blood-red horse, no bigger than an apricot, inside every one of them. Despite their attempts to take flight, they lacked the strength. After a couple of futile flaps at the water’s surface, they would dissipively vanish with a ’poof’, their scarce blood vapor fell back into the blood pool.

Predecessor Santa looked at the ground surrounding the blood pool, astonished, "This was the once boundless Demon Wizard Blood Sea?" It had already dried up to a mere size of a pool.

However, the essence of the Demon Wizard Blood Sea hadn’t changed, still operating under a certain rule, emitting thirty-six blood-red horses. But it took all its strength just to send out one blood-red horse, the rest all vanished within this world. Let alone forming any "Horse King".

They all tried to approach the Demon Wizard Blood Sea to see exactly what had occurred—but they immediately felt their life forces being strongly pulled and swallowed by the blood pool. Everyone retreated, Owen Bertram glanced at the distant void wound, "Let’s go check that out first."

Predecessor Santa nodded, he activated his fire spell, casting a long tail of flame behind him. Owen Bertram directly mounted the Magpie, Senior Maid flapped her wings and caught up with Santa.

Below the void wound, the world was even more ruined; they could even sense the complete chaos and shattering of all kinds of "Rules". The earth was constantly shifting from one state to another, from sand to air, from air to wood, from wood to white hair... this extreme instability spread across a range of thousands of miles.

However, within this chaos, a colossal altar the size of a city stood unscathed under the void wound. Although particles of light occasionally surged from the huge wound, pouring directly onto the altar, it didn’t show any sign of weathering or erosion.

Owen Bertram and Predecessor Santa made a careful attempt to approach the altar. There seemed to be some invisible force radiating from the void wound overhead, both of them instantly felt an odd kind of pain. They didn’t dare to venture any further, after observing from a distance, Predecessor Santa said: "There are ancient runes of the Demon Clan on it."

Owen Bertram also saw clearly now over: "There are some ancient Demon Clan corpses on the altar." And these corpses maintained a sacrificial pose, still lifelike, showing no signs of decay, just like the altar.

Owen Bertram sighed, "I can roughly guess what happened to this world. In history, the Demon Clan also tried every means to break into the Red Horse and Life Gate, but none of the powerful demons could make it out."

"The great demons that were selected to explore the Red Horse and Life Gate are all stunning talents within the Nine Witch Demon Court. They desired to return and tried everything they could, perhaps for this purpose, they set up this altar, but sadly, not only they couldn’t find the way back, they even broke this world and created this void wound."
