Chapter 1130: Chapter 533: Divine Seed_3
"You’re lying! Are you forcing me to use the Soul-searching technique, refusing to give due respect to deities?"
The Radiance god was seething with rage: "I, as a god, have reached this point, what good would it do me to hide anything? You, a junior, have no respect at all. Soul-searching a deity will invoke heavenly wrath!"
Master Sun still did not believe him. These ancient deities have endless strategies. Even though now the deity looks cornered, who knows if he doesn’t have any traces of his true spirit hidden somewhere else?
But Master Sun indeed did not have any means to soul-search a deity. Therefore, after reflecting for a moment, he gave an ominous smile: "You’ve committed countless evil acts, used sentient beings to sow your spirit seeds... thinking you can easily escape through death? Let’s see how you like the taste!"
The Radiance god started panicking: "What are you trying to do? Under the Heavenly Track, you shall not defile the divine spirit!"
Master Sun himself didn’t have full certainty, he pulled out Viola Gourd and sucked towards the Radiance — the aura of the Immortal Binding Rope scattered, and the Radiance as if saw some terrifying existence from the mouth of gourd of Viola, struggled with a piercing shriek, but was inevitably sucked bit by bit into Viola.
"Owen Bertram, you will suffer divine retribution—" His final curse filled with both maliciousness and fear.
Master Sun didn’t care, he patted Viola Gourd and Viola obediently responded: "Master, it will take about three months to give birth to a divine seed."
As to what this divine seed could hatch, Viola did not know.
Master Sun had this idea because firstly, he always had a hunch that these gourds were related to the Burning Hillock, since both the Immortal Binding Rope and the gourds originated from there, perhaps they could suppress the Radiance. Secondly, if the Radiance god liked to place spirit seeds inside sentient beings, then he might as well turn him into a spirit seed, Master Sun would help him accomplish it!
Although the Radiance god was sternly punished, the clues to the Nightmare Sect were cut off again. It turns out that coming to the Ancient Destroyer Origin this time was quite lucky, as he ran into Ms. King who daringly tricked Master Sun out of his money! Master Sun could not resist, so he managed to lure the "Divine Lord" out.
"Next, we will go to Prefecture City and see if the local Horizon Bureau has any new clues."
Master Lane had previously told Master Sun that the Nightmare Sect was involved with some ancient existences. Master Sun speculated that it must not only be the Radiance since it was a small fish.
At dawn, Master Sun identified the direction and soared towards Prefecture City.
...
On the same night, in the Horizon Courthouse of Moon City, everything was just as usual. There were twenty-four guard posts, fourteen secret posts and eight patrol teams in the Courthouse. If someone managed to break into this secretive government bureau, it would be nothing short of a disgrace.
When the time came, Dean Rivercutter Zhan went to bed. Late into the night, while his snoring was resounding in the bedroom, a half-real half-illusory figure quietly drifted out of the window gap.
He skillfully evaded the guards, managed to steer clear of two patrol teams, and finally arrived under a secluded wall of the Courthouse. He quietly pushed aside a clump of bushes. The figure wiped off the mud on his face, revealing a wooden board underneath. He opened the wooden board and crawled into the hole below.
After a while, he crawled out of a tree hole in the alley next door.
This tunnel was dug, when he first joined the Horizon Bureau, by him and some companions. Back then, they were just ordinary military officers. Their supervisor was very strict, and they would sneak out from here to play at night.
Later on, Dean Rivercutter Zhan gradually climbed to higher positions and his cultivation also increased. The comrades who used to sneak into the tunnel with him died one by one in duty. The secret of this tunnel was then known only to him.
After he took over the Horizon Bureau of Rex County, he had enhanced the bureau’s defense several times, but for some reason every time, he intentionally skipped this tunnel. He didn’t expect it to come in handy today.
He did not dare to climb over the wall, guessing that those traitors would have set up arrays and also sent spies outside the wall.
Getting out of the Courthouse and stealthily heading towards the city outskirts was relatively easier. He clenched his fists in determination: As soon as I leave the city, I must immediately use the Communication Talisman to report the situation here to Master Lane! No matter who you have colluded with, once the Seventh Level shows up, all will be reduced to ashes!
He couldn’t help but feel regret, knowing that his good days in Rex County had come to an end. After Master Lane arrives, he would be in trouble as well, maybe even have to cough up most of the money he had been embezzling these past years...
The more Dean Rivercutter Zhan thought about the losses, the more resentment flared up within him towards those backstabbers. It’s all your fault!
He managed to escape the city through a canal and crawl ashore wet and soaked from the Defensive River. Finally letting out a sigh of relief, he then used his Divine Skill to fly, instantly appearing a few dozen miles away. Drawing a grim face, he took out Master Lane’s Communication Talisman... but suddenly felt something odd. Looking around, in the dark wilderness of the night, tiny sparks of gold began to appear.
"Huh?"
He carefully approached the direction of the gold sparks, parted a mass of tall grass and was shocked to find piles of various treasures behind -- gold, Spirit Jade, all kinds of precious medicines, treasure material, Magical Instruments...
He ignored how such abundant treasures could emerge in such a desolate wilderness and instinctively reached out. But he found that no matter how hard he tried, his hand could never touch the treasures.
Succumbing to momentary anxiety, he abruptly lunged forward, eliciting a round of laughter, "Ha, ha, ha!"
Dean Rivercutter Zhan suddenly woke up. What’s going on?! He looked around again and found himself already surrounded by these "treasure sparks." Seated on a massive mountain of Spirit Jade was a person, sitting cross-legged, casually holding a sabre in one hand, looking disdainfully at him.
It was his subordinate, the Commanding Chieftain!
"Dean Rivercutter Zhan, you really are greedy," the Commanding Chieftain stepped down the jade mountain, closing the distance between them in mere steps, looking cat-playing-with-mouse-like at him, "Do you think you can escape?"
Dean Rivercutter Zhan barked, "You, traitorous rebels!"
"You’re the one who didn’t see the writing on the wall! I hinted at you several times, inviting you to convert to the Divine Lord, giving you ample opportunities. But you, timid as a mouse, insisted on becoming a stumbling stone for the Divine Lord. Now, we have no choice but to kick you aside."
Dean Rivercutter Zhan tried to use the Communication Talisman but found the surrounding treasure sparks had completely sealed off this place!
The Commanding Chieftain said, "Save your futile efforts. This is a forsaken place constructed with your desires; you can never rid yourself of your own desires, and hence, can never escape from here!"
"Did you kill Alexander?"
"Yes, just like you, the poor boy was trapped in his own desires and he left in peace, fully satisfied," the Commanding Chieftain sighed, "We underestimated him; he really dared to hand over that scroll to you."
Dean Rivercutter Zhan gritted his teeth, "You are a realm below me, even if I’m trapped here, I’ll kill you first!"
The Commanding Chieftain laughed heartily, "You underestimate the Divine Lord! Let me show you the Divine Lord’s reward to me -- killing you is as easy as slaughtering a chicken!" He raised his sabre high, his body surging upward, transforming into a mountain-like figure, while the sabre gathered an infinite aura of black and yellow. The Commanding Chieftain swung the sabre down, Dean Rivercutter Zhan’s face showed horror. He tried to dodge, but the command consumed all the void. He mustered all his strength, but still, he was shattered and sent flying backward by just one strike. Several defensive Magical Instruments shattered completely, a lengthy wound on his chest was gushing with blood. He fell hard, his face wearing a look of utter despair!
...
Over the vast earth, a diligent and pragmatic young man was trekking step by step. In his hands was a slightly damaged animal skin map, the lines on the map shimmered with light, guiding him.
The young man muttered to himself, "The mission of the Da Luo World Gate this time is a bit strange. With my current realm, it shouldn’t assign me an adventure related to the Ancient Gods. There must be some mystery that I don’t understand."
Suddenly, he stopped, frowning, "Something’s wrong up ahead, Void Sealing? This is almost Moon City, how can there be a Void Sealing?"
