Chapter 1045: Chapter 511: Evil Spirits from Another Realm

Santa was taken aback for a moment and then burst into laughter, spewing out flames of various colors from his mouth. He pointed his Fire Staff at Owen Bertram and said, "You’re an interesting youngster. What you said makes sense."

"Alright, come on up. This old husband will take you to meet my lord, and then you will understand," said Santa.

Santa stomped his foot, and a narrow staircase appeared on the cliffside. "Be bold and come up. With me here, these Spirit Fires won’t harm you."

Owen Bertram replied, "With predecessor present, I won’t harm these Spirit Fires either." Santa had nothing to say in response, as Owen had chatted away incessantly, not giving any chance for the predecessor to show off.

Owen Bertram climbed the cliff unharmed. As Winston and Oliver Archibald were about to follow, Santa’s expression changed and he shouted, "Do you want to die?"

"Get down!"

"The two of you are not qualified to meet my lord!"

Oliver Archibald and Winston were furious but quickly turned their anger into resignation and tolerance, especially Winston. He was no longer the so-called Honored Lord, but a subordinate of Owen Bertram.

While Owen Bertram was respected, how could his subordinates be treated with even a hint of courtesy and respect?

Moreover, Winston’s status as the so-called "Honored Lord" seemed ridiculous in retrospect, though there was still a feeling of loss in his heart.

Owen Bertram was conflicted; he wanted to stand up for his former "master", but he was also worried about his present master. He could only glance at Winston with a hint of worry.

Winston sighed silently and took a step back, and Oliver Archibald, relieved, retreated as well.

Owen Bertram turned his head back while walking on the Spirit Fire on the cliffside and said indignantly, "Predecessor’s words are mistaken! In my understanding, the Honored Lord is a virtuous person and a sage of the Human Race. He’d surely like to meet the rising talents of our race after countless years.

One of them is a strategist with unparalleled wisdom, the top advisor in the entire Eastern Land. The other has already reached the Sixth Great Realm and is a hidden gem on the Horizon Scene of the Wood Dynasty."

"Take them with you and let our lord see how prosperous and thriving our race is!"

Santa frowned and tapped his Fire Staff on the ground. Finally, he said, "Alright, let’s go together."

Oliver Archibald and Winston, especially Winston, felt warmth in their hearts. Winston recognized the gap between himself and his lord even more.

When he thought about how he had treated those beneath him when he was an "Honored Lord", he felt he had done quite well. But comparing himself with Owen Bertram, his level immediately fell short.

Owen Bertram praised both of them, soothing their feelings of loss, while providing Santa a way out, making sure everyone’s pride was preserved.

The two raised their heads and walked up the stairs, three feet behind their lord. Reaching the top of the cliff, they looked back to see a long and gentle slope, leading all the way to the huge and magnificent Flame Melting Furnace.

On the way up, the Fire Monkeys hopped and chattered excitedly.

Santa led the three, taking one step at a time. Owen Bertram took each step carefully, stepping exactly where Santa stepped. Winston almost took a wrong step, but Oliver Archibald reminded him in time. The two thought to themselves, "This old monkey really has a monkey’s nature!"

"Hahaha!" Santa laughed loudly as they reached the Flame Melting Furnace, his meaning clear without a word.

Even if they took a wrong step, there would likely be no real danger; Santa’s mischief was most likely just an attempt to regain the face he had lost earlier.

Owen Bertram looked up to see the Flame Melting Furnace, which stood about three hundred feet tall but gave people an "endlessly towering" impression. Flames, like nimble snakes and flying fish, leaped up from the bottom and eventually dissipated into Spirit Fire patterns at the top of the Furnace.

A surging heatwave spread outward like an engulfing mist that brushed against their faces. However, this "heatwave" was incredibly intense, yet it didn’t make them feel hot; instead, a feeling of warmth spread from the inside out, from the soul to the flesh.

Santa knelt before the Flame Melting Furnace three times and then raised his Fire Staff to gently pry open a door on the furnace.

"Let’s go, follow this old husband to meet my lord."

Behind the door was another unique True Fire World, where everything was made of pure flames. Balls and wisps of fire danced amidst the surrounding darkness and void.

Owen Bertram lowered his head and saw that the path under his feet was formed from those clusters of flames. After walking for an unknown amount of time—since time and space seemed to be distorted here—Owen saw a floating "Flame Island" in the void above.

Upon closer inspection, the island turned out to be a nine-headed, nine-tailed Flame Flood Dragon coiled around itself.

Atop the Flame Flood Dragon, a procession of palanquins carried a figure sitting upright in the main hall. He wore a flame robe made from ninety-nine types of Spirit Fires and held a Spirit Fire Jade in one hand and a Vermillion Seal in the other.

Despite having his eyes closed, countless Spirit Fire symbols still danced behind him.

Even with just a glance, Owen Bertram felt immense reverence towards this figure, lowering his head in respect.

Winston and Oliver Archibald, who were behind Owen Bertram, were unable to endure, humbly kneeling to the ground and prostrating themselves, not daring to approach any closer!

Santa led Owen Bertram all the way to the Flame Flood Dragon. After another round of bows, he uttered some ancient and obscure syllables, which seemed to be the language of their time.
