Chapter 1007: Chapter 500: Sunset Nail_4

He cursed softly: A cunning creature! Owen Bertram secretly opened his domain, spanning nearly two hundred miles. If Keith plans to rescue his False Body Puppet, he would inevitably expose himself, and Owen would notice.

But his False Body Puppet, Sunset Nail, and ’Book of the Dead’, these are all rare treasures. Losing his False Body Puppet would be a great loss for him, and losing the latter two, he wouldn’t be able to account for his siblings!

In response, Keith found himself in a tough spot, unable to decide whether to make a move and risk not defeating this fellow or not move at all and fail to recover his losses afterward. Even the "Micro-count Skill" could not calculate an outcome that would benefit him in every aspect.

Finally, Keith made up his mind to sit tight. The massive ant hill collapsed completely, burying the False Body Puppet entirely underground.

Neither the Mesmerizing Demon, Boundary Flower, Chaotic Demon, nor the cultivators showed any surprise at how Owen Bertram collapsed eight ant hills with a wave of his hand. To someone of Owen’s power, such a feat was routine.

They observed Owen suspended a thousand feet in the air during the collapse of the ant hill, and saw strands of bluish-green rays scanning back and forth within a range of two hundred miles, as if he were searching for something.

The canopy of Keith’s Bamboo Hat indeed was a rare artefact. Owen spent quite a while searching, yet found nothing. At this point, other cultivators started to sense it, "When did Sir open his domain?"

"What is Sir looking for?"

Owen Bertram sneered, and announced, "Cowards! You can hide in the Country of Mourning forever! After I leave, I’ll make sure the exits of the Country of Mourning are sealed!"

He waved his hand, a spiritual cloud enveloped everyone: "Go--"

Within an instant they flew hundreds of miles, disappearing without a trace. It seemed as if they truly were planning on leaving before the hidden assailant could make a move, after which they would seal the Country of Mourning.

Keith remained motionless, contemptuous in his heart: "Such poor deception. If I really believe you and step out now, I’d surely be caught red-handed."

Keith decided to continue hiding under his Bamboo Hat. It was a test of patience!

He waited and waited until sunset. The surroundings became deathly still. Keith finally couldn’t help but shuffle about and then immediately stopped. He experimented like this a few times and found no disturbances. Ascending into the air, he flew several hundred feet, then cursed angrily: "That bastard, he really left!"

I wasted half a day lying around here for nothing.

Since Owen Bertram truly left, Keith hurried towards the collapsed ant hill. He pulled out a small wooden shovel from his robe, giving it a light shovel blows away thousands of pounds of dirt. He quickly dug a tunnel.

It took him only half a Shichen (1 hour) to find the False Body Puppets and other rare items buried beneath the ant hill. Holding these items in his hand, Keith let out a deep sigh of relief.

He shook the False Body Puppets, which were soaked through--they were, after all, puppets.

After carefully securing these rare items, Keith considered his next step. Then, a dark shadow rose quietly behind him, using the terrain as a cover. Suddenly, it sprang up and transformed into an eerie Demon Beast!

The Demon Beast’s head was like an old ox’s, full of tusks and its opened mouth reached ten meters wide! Its body, however, was the ethereal form of a centipede. The abdomen and back flickered with Heterotext. This half-real, half-illusion creature was a Tier-6 Demon Beast!

It pounced on Keith, who seemed to have eyes in the back of his head as he struck back, driving an ancient nail, long as an arm, deep into the Demon Beast’s belly.

The Sunset Nail exploded with seven layers of radiant lights that resembled an evening glow, spreading layer by layer. It was incredibly beautiful. But for the Demon Beast, it meant destruction!

Its ethereal body completely dissipated under the third layer of radiant evening glow. The radiant glow continued to outspread like waves repeatedly hitting the creature’s head. By the fifth layer of the radiant evening glow, the enormous tusked-ox head shattered into pieces, with the bull’s horns, tusks, skull, and flesh scattering, plop plop plop, and falling onto the ground.
