Felix left Bill at the mansion to collect the guards back. Since they now found Anne was in the royal palace, they didn’t need to worry anymore.

Since he thought Asher was close to Anne, at least seeing Asher could light up her mood after whatever she had to endure.

’I still think about her well-being when she is worrying everyone here.’

Felix couldn’t help but blame himself again. He always ends up siding with Anne in the end.

He couldn’t do anything. She is his favourite person ever. So his weak brain could only think about ways to protect her even though she could sometimes be really cruel.

Upon their arrival, they were welcomed through the royal palace gate with no problem. And they could see some commoners also wandering around there.

’They must be here to find their children.’

According to Bill, the royal palace has sent letters to every noble and had announced to commoners to look for their children at the royal palace if they suddenly lost any.

Everyone might not be lucky. But maybe these saved children could reunite with their families again.

Felix felt bad as he almost experienced it.

The children would be sold to foreigners as slaves and after that, their lives would be unpredictable. You wouldn’t know what would happen next once you become a slave and get an owner.

"Duke...It’s Miss Anne, right?"

Asher, who was very focused on the group of kids behind the guards, saw a little girl similar to Anne. But it wasn’t clear so he asked the duke, in case it could make him feel relieved.

Felix said while stepping in. Everyone knew who he was. And of course, they knew he had a sister he cared about. But no one expected that sister would be in this group of kids. So it was surprising for everyone.

"My sister. That’s her."

Felix pointed at Anne staring at Felix from the crowd.

She looked exhausted, but at the same time, her eyes shined when she saw Felix.

She looked really pitiful.

After signing as her guardian, the guards let Anne go to the duke. Anne ran to Felix and jumped at him. While everyone around them watched the brother and sister, some commoners gasped in surprise when they saw the duke picking up the little girl and walking away. They were shocked to see his soft expression and very gentle caring toward the kid.

He looked like a father raising a kid. He might be looking tough but when he picks up a kid like that, he looks like a good person from the outside.

Asher watched the duke coming back with Anne on his arm. Then he heard Anne scream happily.

’So cute!’

Asher giggled secretly before smiling at her.

"Hello, Miss Anne."

Felix still didn’t spout a word to any of them. Even after they came back to the mansion, he called Mary to take care of Anne and let Asher also take care of Anne.

"Bill, so did the royal guards arrest all the counts involved in this?"

"According to the letter, yeah. And the emperor had promised to punish them with the death penalty."

"So they are still alive?"

"...Yes, Duke. But under arrest in the royal prison."

"No duke."

"Okay, you can leave now."

They were bad people and the law punishing them was alright. And it’s good these bastards were finally caught now.

Felix turned to look at his office door when he heard a knock.

"Who?"

"It’s me, Anne."

Felix sighed and asked her to come in.

"You should take a rest."

"What is it?"

Felix was a little frustrated thinking it would be some ignorant threats.

"...What’s done?"

"The revenge."

"So...you planned this kidnapping too?"

"You already know it, why ask?"

Felix blankly nodded and said.

Anne asked in a surprised expression. Seeing Felix silent, she continued speaking again.

Felix pondered for some time before turning to Anne again.

Felix said in a plain voice but Anne smiled and left.

’She is acting weird. Is it because her revenge finally ended?’

Felix noticed how Anne suddenly talked like a mature person and even promised not to be like this anymore.

He had no idea.

Still, he could say this conversation was an improvement after whatever happened.

He just doesn’t want any complications in his life anymore.

He wants everything to be simple and peaceful.

So he would definitely not go after Anne anymore. Maybe she knew that and that’s why she came to talk like this.
