Chapter 16: Totsuki Academy and Bunny Girl
Despite eating so many desserts, Asagi’s stomach still growled like a hungry puppy.
“Hurry up, we’re almost there!”
Ignoring the shops along the way, Asagi was brimming with anticipation for the famous restaurant.
“If you can’t finish it later, that’s just wasting food.”
Luo Yun said helplessly.
“What are you talking about? Girls have two stomachs. Those desserts were just appetizers. The main course is next!”
Soon, Asagi led Luo Yun to the street where the restaurant was located.
It was practically a sea of people.
“How… are there so many people?”
Even Asagi couldn’t help but gape in exaggeration, her heart sinking with disappointment.
Totsuki Academy, formally Totsuki Tea House Culinary Academy, was a school dedicated to teaching elite cuisine. Though the name might sound unimpressive, it was a genuine aristocratic academy. Beyond regular academic courses, culinary skill was the top priority.
Moreover, graduating was incredibly difficult, with a graduation rate below ten percent. Out of a thousand first-year students, fewer than a hundred would graduate.
The reality was even harsher than the numbers suggested.
But the difficulty of graduation was proportional to the brand’s prestige. Those who graduated could bask in the glory of being culinary celebrities for life.
Now, with a star restaurant opening on Itogami Island, even just the hype was enough to draw massive crowds.
“Did you hear? They say the head chef here is one of Totsuki’s Top Ten!”
“What’s Totsuki’s Top Ten?”
“Apparently, they’re the ten best chefs at Totsuki Academy. They can decide school matters, and even the teachers have to follow their lead!”
“That’s seriously badass!”
Curious passersby, hearing their friends’ boasts, grew even more intrigued and admiring.
Totsuki’s Top Ten were among the culinary world’s elite, and as a global Demon Sanctuary, Itogami Island naturally attracted top talent.
“What do we do? It looks like… we can’t get in.”
Asagi eyed the crowd ahead, unwilling to give up.
Luo Yun looked too, but there was no solution. They couldn’t just shove their way through.
Even if they reached the front, the seats inside were likely long taken.
“We’ll have to come back another time.”
Luo Yun was curious to try the skills of the culinary world’s “New Oriental*,” but today was a bust. Some people, having caught wind early, had booked nearby hotels days in advance, securing spots at midnight on opening day.
“No big deal. We’ve got plenty of time. We live here—afraid we won’t get to eat?”
Luo Yun consoled her.
“Guess that’s true.”
Asagi wasn’t unreasonable. Shaking off the disappointment, she cheerfully led Luo Yun to a nearby Japanese restaurant, ordering large portions of ramen and other dishes, digging in with gusto.
After eating, with her stomach slightly bloated, Asagi still wasn’t satisfied. Excited, she dragged Luo Yun to an amusement park.
Perhaps because Itogami Island was newly built, it didn’t yet have a major amusement park. But Nayue had mentioned plans to expand the island, including a marine-themed water park.
Having just eaten, intense rides like roller coasters were off-limits.
After visiting the haunted house, Ferris wheel, and carousel, Luo Yun noticed something surprising at an ice cream shop.
Ahead of him stood a girl in a bunny girl outfit, arms crossed, calmly watching the amusement park’s bustling crowds.
“…A park employee?”
Luo Yun considered but quickly dismissed the idea.
This amusement park was mostly for parents with young kids. Placing such an eye-catching bunny girl here—was that to spark the kids’ hormones?
The bunny girl’s outfit was undeniably provocative.
The tall, black-haired girl wore a black bunny costume, with transparent straps complementing her fair skin. The tight outfit accentuated a deep cleavage, and her long legs were wrapped in black stockings, glinting with a flesh-toned sheen under the sunlight.
No kid could handle that sight.
Though he wasn’t ogling, even Luo Yun couldn’t help but glance a few times at her neckline, ten centimeters down, and her waist, another ten centimeters lower.
But as he got closer, he noticed something even stranger.
The passing crowd seemed oblivious to the voluptuous bunny girl, not sparing her a glance even as they walked right by.
