Chapter 15: The Gods Begin To Notice
Chapter 15: The Gods Begin To Notice
KRAK-KA-BOOM!
The sky cracked open—lightning flashed from the heavens like a divine spear hurled toward the earth, perfectly aimed at Allen.
He barely dodged it with a last-second sidestep. The searing heat grazed his skin, his legs buckling under the weight of his own body. The blazing brilliance blinded the spectators, forcing many to shield their eyes. The bolt carved a molten scar across the stone platform—just inches from his foot.
"Damn... that’s fast," Allen whispered.
"HAHAHAHAHA!" Caelen laughed devilishly. "You can’t outrun wind, let alone light, you fool. You’ll die before you even realize it."
He hovered midair like a demi-god, suspended in a cyclone of his own making. His eyes were now white, glowing with chaotic energy, and his fists were sheathed in living storm. Yet he didn’t stop.
"Let’s see how fast you can run!" Caelen roared, voice drenched in mockery. He rotated in place, his wind whirling violently around him—rising currents of warm, furious air swelling with each oscillation.
The crowd didn’t need a warning. Their instincts screamed louder than any herald ever could.
They scattered—running in every direction like sheep who had lost their shepherd. Panic painted their movements; there was no destination, only the need to get away.
Natasha and Elara did nothing but watch with helpless worry. They cautiously stepped backward as the crowd jostled past them. Tears streamed down their cheeks—not from fear, but from helplessness.
Amaterasu stood beside the two girls. Unmoving. Unshaken. Her eyes held nothing but pure anticipation... and curiosity.
"HAAAAAA!" Caelen screamed as he hurled a tornado into the sky like a rocket, his hands raised high as if he were offering the entire world to the gods.
And the sky answered.
Day turned to night. The clouds blackened, cracking with electricity. The heavens rumbled under the will of a single man. Friction buzzing within the clouds.
But Allen remained still.
He let the moment flow around him, calculations running beneath his calm surface.
A direct hit could paralyze me... If this keeps up, I might—
BUZZ. BUZZ. BUZZ.
Three bolts of lightning shot down from different angles—Caelen redirected them all toward Allen in rapid succession.
Allen danced between death. He twisted, flipped, spun—forking his feet between steps as if chaos itself played the drums he moved to. In the blink of an eye, he dodged all three strikes.
But Caelen wasn’t done.
"Yes... yes! Dance to your death!" Caelen howled, sending bolt after bolt in relentless fury. The arena shook from the sheer force—light and sound fused into thunderclaps of war. The earth cracked and hissed, molten patches of rock forming as if each lightning strike opened a window to hell.
"Arrrggh!" Allen winced, lightning catching his leg mid-dodge. Pain surged like liquid fire, his body staggering. Another bolt slashed across his rib—no clothes offered even the slightest defense. The impact tore open his flesh, blood dripping hot against the scorched stone.
"It... it feels nice," Allen muttered with a broken grin, coughing blood. "Derrick... I think I finally have an answer to your question... pain is delight."
"Lord All—!" Natasha gasped as she fell to her knees, tears pooling in her eyes. Elara covered her mouth, speechless.
"Yes, Allen... kiss the soil," Caelen sneered. "That’s where you belong."
"Shut up," Allen growled low, just loud enough for Caelen to hear.
He rose.
His body began to regenerate—flesh born again all thanks to the Vampire genes he had copied. His eyes gleamed with finality.
"Oh? Did I hear you?" Caelen mocked, cupping his ear theatrically, still levitating. "A few more bolts and your voice will only be heard in the afterlife."
Allen’s gaze shifted—past Caelen, toward Kealion, who still sat watching silently. Curiosity flickered in the elder’s eyes.
Knowing I’m the system’s vessel... it’ll only make him fear me more. That’s how I’ll dominate him, Allen thought darkly. He smirked. "Now, Caelen... shall we begin?" f r\eew,eb novel.c(o)(m)
"Rushing to death? I’m pleased." Caelen chuckled as he launched more wind into the sky—charging the clouds above, building friction between water and ice.
"Activate system ability: Black Tongue," Allen whispered.

[Awaiting Command...]
---
"Now Caelen... I shall calm your storm," Allen whispered, rotating his shoulders.
The sky trembled. Lightning crackled visibly in the clouds above.
"Die already!" Caelen shrieked as more bolts screamed downward.
"SCATTER," Allen commanded.
[Command Received – Target: Caelen]
[Target is high-ranked. Consider executing partial effect...]
"Right arm," Allen hissed.
[Command Executed – Right Arm Targeted]
BOOM.
Caelen’s right arm exploded—shattered to its core. Blood splattered around him. The winds betrayed him; he tumbled from the sky, his expression frozen in shock and agony.
The redirected bolt struck the earth nearby, sending plumes of smoke spiraling into the air.
"What... did you do?" Caelen coughed, blood staining his lips. His left hand clutched his shoulder. His right arm was nothing but microscopic particles.
"I’ve only just begun," Allen said coldly, walking toward him like a flawless predator.
"SCATTER. Target: Left arm."
BOOM.
The left arm turned to wet dust. Bone and flesh disintegrated, carried away by the same wind that once empowered him.
"Arghhh!" Caelen wailed and sprouted up to his feet, handless and staggering.
"You think I need hands to control the wind?" he rasped, eyes watering, barely restraining tears. "How dare you touch the blood of an elder... you’ll pay for this."
Two colossal wind-arrows formed beside him—visible, sharp, and as thick as trees.
"DIE!" he screamed, launching both.
Where do I end you now...? Damn, there are so many ways to die, Allen thought, increasing the pacing of his steps. "Your head? Your legs... where?"
Time slowed.
He vanished—reappearing behind Caelen, holding something limp in his bloodstained hand.
Caelen’s scrotum.
It pulsed with residual heat. Blood dripped freely.
Elara and Natasha’s eyes stretched wide—blinking rapidly, unable to process what they were seeing.
Amaterasu clapped slowly, a smile creeping across her lips as though she had foreseen this outcome.
Even Kealion stood from his high seat of earth. His eyes widened in alarm.
"First teleportation... then speed... now powers even I can’t comprehend," he muttered, a chill crawling his spine. "The Copy System is back... and this time, it chose a devil."
Caelen dropped to his knees, blood streaming down his thighs—dignity obliterated.
But Allen wasn’t done.
"I still need to instill more fear..."
Before Caelen’s body could collapse, Allen flashed behind him and split him in two—vertically. Blood painted the floor.
"UNDO."
[Executing Level 2 Lower Curse Command]
[Target: Caelen]
His body stitched itself back—speechless, frozen.
Allen struck again, kicking a side of his rib into the air. He caught Caelen midair and ripped off his head in one clean motion.
Blood rained.
"UNDO."
The head reattached. Life returned.
Again. And again. Blood. Screams. Restoration.
Elara and Natasha trembled, eyes turned away from the horror—but their hearts whispered one truth: You deserve it, Caelen.
Amaterasu watched. Silent. A flicker of fear in her eyes. As if she were witnessing a man devoured by a seven-mawed beast.
"That’s enough!" Kealion’s voice rang out.
He caught Allen’s hand mid-strike, face twisted in disgust and dread.
Allen let go. Caelen’s unconscious body dropped like a block of ice—broken, stripped of respect.
"You’re the Copy System’s vessel... aren’t you?" Kealion asked as Allen pulled his hand free.
Allen’s eyes were dark, yet his soul—satisfied.
"So what if I am?"
"My old friend Albert... he was the last host. We had the same dream—to bring peace to our clan. But he died before fulfilling it." Kealion’s voice softened. "You feel like his reincarnation... Let’s fulfill it together."
Seriously? Allen roared in thought. All this stress just for that?
"Heh... hehe..." Allen chuckled coldly.
"Pathetic. I’m a man of my own. So pray the gods bring him back to you."
He turned.
And then—the sky roared again.
But this time, it wasn’t Caelen.
It was the gods.
And Zeus was watching. The god of lightening himself. Allen had just devoured a lightning weirder—and to Zeus, that was a threat to his existence.
A divine bolt of lightning descended from the heavens—aimed at Allen.
The tension returned. Natasha, Elara—even Amaterasu felt it in their bones.
"Allen!" they screamed.
Allen looked up.
Seems I overdid it, he thought.
He raised his finger.
The bolt struck him—but instead of death, his body surged with godly energy. Lightning coursed through him—his eyes turned white.
He absorbed it. His Copy System transformed the strike into strength.
[New Ability Acquired: Lightning Bolt]
[System Error: Power Overload]
[System Shutting Down...]
Allen staggered.
Vision dimming.
Then—
He fell.
Unconscious.
But once he awakens...
What awaits?
