Chapter 75: Chapter 0075: Escape Button

Inside the maze, Tang Ming watched as Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli argued in front of him. The two had clearly begun to insist on their own ideas after entering this new maze, especially since Liu Mengting had completely lost faith in Li Xiaoli’s sense of direction and wouldn’t let her lead any longer, for fear they wouldn’t be able to find their way out of the maze all morning.

"Meng Meng sister, just trust me one last time, I’m sure I can lead us out," Li Xiaoli said once more, confident in her assertion.

Liu Mengting scoffed and said, "Xiaoli, it’s not that sister doesn’t trust you, but if you keep directing us, we won’t get out of here by noon, right Tang Ming?"

Tang Ming couldn’t be bothered to listen anymore, thinking that if someone wanted to harm Liu Mengting, the maze was indeed the perfect choice. It was better to get both of them out sooner rather than later, or the consequences could be severe.

Slowly approaching the wall, Tang Ming pressed the escape button, and immediately, the chubby manager in the office received the signal.

He hurriedly opened the surveillance monitor, only to see Tang Ming’s location in the maze, where he and his two companions were still arguing, while Xiao Ma and his two companions were honestly waiting at another five-way junction.

"Damn waste," the manager cursed, then picked up his phone to make a call.

"Xiao Ma, what the hell are you doing? The target has already gone to Maze No.2, and you’re still waiting at the five-way junction in Maze No.1, you’ll never encounter them if you wait there forever."

The manager vented his anger with a loud scolding.

At the five-way junction, Xiao Ma received the call and heard the tirade, realizing what it meant, and muttered in confusion, "Damn, why didn’t they follow the expected pattern, making me wait here for so long?"

"Enough, they’ve already pressed the escape button, and no one else will know. The three of you go straight to Maze No.2 and pretend to be the rescue staff to meet them, then find a chance to take action. You can’t fail this time, got it?" the manager instructed fiercely.

"Don’t worry, they won’t get away this time," Xiao Ma said with a savage look as he hung up the phone, then instructed his two subordinates briefly, and they headed towards where Tang Ming and his companions were in Maze No.2.

In one section of Maze No.2, Li Xiaoli was angrily staring at Tang Ming and demanded, "Tang Ming, you don’t trust me either, and you actually pressed the escape button. Don’t you have any ambition? Can’t we find our way out by ourselves?"

Tang Ming touched his nose and smiled, "I do want to find our way out by ourselves, but it’s almost time for lunch, and we’re still wandering here, not sure when we’ll make it out. Besides, didn’t Meng Ting ask me to make a decision?"

"Always thinking about eating," Li Xiaoli glared at Tang Ming angrily.

Liu Mengting, on the other hand, was relieved. Since the escape button had been pressed, the amusement park’s staff would soon come to lead them out; she didn’t want to waste too much time in the maze.

Seeing that both Tang Ming and Liu Mengting didn’t seem to believe in her, Li Xiaoli turned around huffily, looking off into the distance without turning back, her childlike temperament apparent. Yet, such anger often came and went quickly, and perhaps a soft word could appease her.

"All right, Xiaoli, it was you who asked me to come to the amusement park with you, don’t be mad, okay?" Liu Mengting, well aware of Li Xiaoli’s personality, walked over and comforted her by patting her shoulder.

"Who’s mad? I’m not that petty," Li Xiaoli turned her head, only to see Xiao Ma and his two companions approaching from behind, and pointed at them, saying, "Meng Meng sister, the amusement park’s people are here."

"Oh," Liu Mengting followed her gaze and saw Xiao Ma, who had an ominous look on his face, not at all resembling someone benevolent.

"Was it you who pressed the escape button?" Xiao Ma walked over and asked.

"Yeah."

Although Liu Mengting felt that the young man didn’t seem like a good person, seeing him in uniform with an amusement park employee badge made her lower her guard.

"Oh, so do you want to continue experiencing, or would you like us to lead you out directly?"

With a flicker in his eyes, the young man enthusiastically proposed:

"Actually, not many tourists who come to the maze can find their way out by themselves. If you want to experience it, you can follow us and we’ll give you some small hints, so you can enjoy the feeling of escaping the predicament on your own."

"Hey, that’s not bad."

Li Xiaoli was pleased upon hearing this, "Let’s do that. Just give us a few hints later; don’t say too much though, I’m pretty clever!"

"Don’t worry, ensuring that our guests have the best experience is our responsibility as staff."

The young man cracked a smile, but inwardly cursed, ’Clever my ass, all boobs and no brains!’

Tang Ming stood aside, silently, just waiting to see what kind of trick these three were going to play.

"After you."

The young man raised his hand, indicating for the three women to continue walking forward.

Li Xiaoli continued to lead the way up front, with Liu Mengting quickly following for fear of her wandering off, while Tang Ming was at the very back.

The young man and his companions maintained a distance of several meters from them. Seeing Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli ahead, Da Hei Ya’s desire surged, and he almost drooled.

"Brother Ma, those two chicks are really beautiful; we gotta have a good time with them later."

Da Hei Ya said with a lecherous sneer, obscenely reaching out his hand as though touching something.

"Enough with your eagerness. We’ll get rid of that man first; then everybody can have a go with the busty girl—I’ll go first. That chick might even be a virgin, hehe. But remember, we can’t touch the other one!"

The young man grinned, clearly unable to contain himself any longer.

"Got the tools?"

The young man asked Da Hei Ya.

Da Hei Ya reached into his pocket and pulled out an iron rod wrapped at one end with plastic, which felt comfortable to grip.

Taking the iron rod, the young man said, "Remember, after I knock that guy out, you two go and grab those two chicks. Make sure not to make a big scene, and most importantly, don’t let them run away, got it?"

"Relax, those two chicks won’t escape from our brothers’ Five Finger Mountain," Da Hei Ya said with a sly grin.

Though Tang Ming was quite a distance away, he was paying close attention to these three scoundrels, and naturally, he heard every word they said crystal clear.

"Let’s see what kind of tricks you’re going to play next."

Tang Ming had a cold smile on his face as he walked calmly behind them.

With the iron rod in hand, the young man slowly quickened his pace to approach Tang Ming from behind; he clutched the iron rod, ready to strike Tang Ming’s head from behind when he’s off guard. Meanwhile, his two accomplices were also closing in.

"Which way should we go here?"

Liu Mengting suddenly asked loudly from the front.

In that split second, Tang Ming quickly turned around, just in time to see the young man standing a meter behind him, along with the iron rod in his grip.

Feigning panic and fear, Tang Ming rapidly stepped back and pointed at the iron rod in the young man’s hand, exclaiming, "What are you doing with that iron rod? Are you trying to hit me with it?"
