Tang Ming smiled lightly and stood aside without explanation, thinking that it’s all this female thief’s doing, so she could solve it herself.

It seemed that the girl had lost her nerve, afraid of being exposed at the police station.

"We were just kidding around."

The girl grew anxious and after a moment of thought explained, "Actually, it’s like this, I’ve taken a liking to him, and to get close to him, I made up this joke. Please don’t be mad, officer sister, I know I’ve been too willful."

"What? Really?"

Lin Xue looked at the girl’s face with disbelief, asking if it was possible for Tang Ming to inspire love at first sight, let alone such crazy behavior. She would never believe it, but now that the person involved insisted it was a joke, what more could she say?

There’s an old saying: Without the people’s complaint, officials do not investigate. It applied to the current situation as well.

"Officer sister, I’m not lying to you, it really was just a joke,"

The girl smiled with an apologetic and slightly embarrassed expression.

"Why?"

Tang Ming turned and looked at Lin Xue, knowing that this policewoman was always giving him a hard time. He hadn’t expected that he’d be held back even after the female thief was allowed to go.

"I suspect there’s something wrong with you. I need to search you."

Lin Xue’s smile was a mix of jest and seriousness as she scrutinized Tang Ming, "I hope you’ll cooperate."

"Cooperate with what? I think you’re just intentionally giving me trouble,"

Tang Ming said with a curled lip, "Wherever I am, there you are. How unlucky am I to run into you, and can you stop treating me like a bad guy and picking on me every time you see me?"

"If you haven’t done anything wrong, why are you afraid of me?"

Lin Xue said coldly, "Cut the nonsense, we’re going to check. What’s that you’re carrying in your hand?"

"Just something I bought, are you also questioning this?"

Tang Ming said irritably.

Lin Xue snatched the plastic bag from his hand, looked inside to find it full of disgusting things like dried scorpion and centipede, and immediately frowned, "Buying so much poison, what are you up to? Planning to harm someone?"

Tang Ming said, picking up a dried centipede and popping it into his mouth, crunching it loudly with gusto, "Not bad, tastes like chicken, crispy and crunchy."

Lin Xue had been bold from a young age, daring to do what others wouldn’t, displaying a tomboyish character. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have left her comfortable home environment to pursue a dangerous job like being a police officer.

Although she was shocked to see Tang Ming eat a dried centipede, in her heart, she was more doubtful.

"Could it be made of flour?"

The possibility crossed Lin Xue’s mind, but then she thought, isn’t that a bit too realistic? It looked flawlessly authentic.

"Forget it, if this guy can eat it, what am I afraid of? I’ll know if it’s real or fake once I try it."

With quick eyes and agile hands, Lin Xue reached into the bag, grabbed half a Dried Scorpion, chewed it a few times, and swallowed it.

"Damn, this chick is seriously hardcore."

Tang Ming never expected Lin Xue would imitate him and munch on a Dried Scorpion; it hadn’t been processed and was extremely poisonous. He was startled immediately.

Taking advantage of Lin Xue’s moment savoring the taste of the Dried Scorpion, Tang Ming secretly cultivated his energy and pushed her on the shoulders with both hands at a rapid pace, his fingers briskly grazing a few acupoints on her abdomen. With a light touch that even Lin Xue didn’t notice, he discreetly applied his skill.

Lin Xue stumbled several steps backward from the push and nearly lost her balance and fell. Just as she was about to lose her temper,

Tang Ming shouted before she could, "Do you know how expensive this stuff is? And you steal it to eat? You’re a police officer? What do you call taking without asking?"

Lin Xue’s face turned red. She was simply driven by curiosity and had nibbled only half of one, not expecting this guy to get so mad and be so stingy.

"Hmph, I can’t be bothered with you!"

Lin Xue huffed, turned around, and walked off with the other two members of the patrol team to their vehicle and left.

After watching her leave, Tang Ming finally breathed a sigh of relief. He had been genuinely terrified just then, but fortunately, he had sealed off a few of Lin Xue’s acupoints in secret to stop the poison from spreading from her abdomen. Otherwise,

he reckoned this police officer would likely need to be rushed to the hospital tonight. Now, she would probably need to make several trips to the bathroom to flush out the poison.

If he could have massaged her acupoints a few more times, Lin Xue definitely wouldn’t have had any issues, but lingering on her body would have raised suspicions. If it was misconstrued as him taking liberties with her, that would be a situation he couldn’t walk away from unscathed.

"Heh, she had it coming. Serves her right for sneaking a bite. Just wait until she starts running to the bathroom later."

Tang Ming smirked, then turned around and prepared to head back to the villa.

In the patrol car, Lin Xue sat in the passenger seat when suddenly her expression soured, and her stomach started growling noisily.

"Are you okay?"

The police officer driving the car noticed something was amiss and asked.

Lin Xue, clutching her stomach and reddening in embarrassment, said, "Stop at the public restroom up ahead, I think I ate something bad."

The patrol car quickly pulled up near a public restroom, and Lin Xue, clutching her stomach and no longer caring about embarrassment, dashed into the toilet with a pack of tissues in hand.

Carrying a big bag of poison, Tang Ming planned to return to the villa. The main road of the herbal medicine street was quite long, and taxis didn’t venture in due to the usual crowd, so he had to get to the entrance of the street to hail one.

He hadn’t walked far when he noticed someone was following him, using the same tricks as the female thief earlier. Without a second thought, he knew it was the same thief who hadn’t given up and was sticking to him again.

But Tang Ming wasn’t in the mood to play around with this female thief; he had to get back to the villa for cultivation, with plenty on his plate.

He turned around, facing the empty street behind him, and scoffed, "Stop hiding, come out."

He shouted once, but there was no response. Tang Ming snorted, "If you really won’t come out, then don’t blame me for getting rough."

Seeing no effect, Tang Ming walked towards a trash can and kicked it forcefully, eliciting a startled yelp of "Ouch!"

The female thief quickly jumped away from behind the trash can, nearly doused in garbage. She glared at Tang Ming, looking like she wanted nothing more than to stew him and eat him.

"Why are you still following me?"

Tang Ming asked, "You’re not thinking of stealing back from me, are you?"

"Can you give me back at least some of my money?"

The female thief knew how formidable Tang Ming was; she couldn’t possibly pickpocket anything from him and had no choice but to propose a truce.
