Chapter 656: Chapter 0656: Show Off Affection

"Heh, we didn’t mean anything by it, and what can you do to us anyway?"

Liu Mengting sneered, Tang Ming’s upright manner had made her and Li Xiaoli seriously doubt their own charm. To avoid losing confidence in themselves, they could only wickedly speculate about Tang Ming – otherwise, they would feel too unattractive.

"Sigh! With my big chest and Meng Meng’s long legs, plus our two pretty faces, it’s so disappointing that we can’t spark your interest."

Li Xiaoli let out a helpless sigh and secretly pondered whether she should find an opportunity to test Tang Ming.

Previously, the purpose of testing Chen Cang was to worry that he was a man pretending to be gay. Now she and Liu Mengting highly suspected that Tang Ming was not a man, so they should test him as well.

"Damn, enough already; if this is how it’s going to be, I won’t be polite next time we have the chance."

Tang Ming couldn’t help but blurt out a curse; these two young ladies were too much trouble.

"Alright, alright, let’s eat. I’ve already called Wei’er, and she’ll be over soon to join us for a cram session with you. Don’t keep her waiting at the meal."

Liu Mengting took a sip of her milk and dominantly ended the discussion, though she herself didn’t really know what she was thinking!

Women are a strange creature, a collection of numerous contradictions. At the moment, Li Xiaoli and Liu Mengting were in this state. The idea of Tang Ming having thoughts about them would scare them, yet Tang Ming not making a move on them made them uncomfortable as well.

After breakfast, Xia Wei’er took a taxi to Liu Family’s home.

Upon seeing Xia Wei’er, the three of them—Tang Ming included—were taken aback.

Xia Wei’er had two dark circles under her eyes as if she hadn’t slept all night, which was even more alarming than the three of them.

"Wei’er, you’re really pushing yourself too hard!"

Liu Mengting rushed to greet Xia Wei’er before Tang Ming could, "We only slept at two after studying last night, but our eyes aren’t as dark as yours. You didn’t stay up all night, did you?"

"Yeah, yeah, how did they get so dark, and they even seem a bit swollen?" Li Xiaoli also crowded in, asking with concern.

"It’s nothing, it’s nothing. The pressure from the final exams is a bit much, so I spent a longer time studying."

Xia Wei’er rubbed her eyes and explained bashfully; the truth was, she hadn’t really slept the previous night due to being frightened.

Seeing Xia Wei’er like this, Tang Ming frowned; she was pushing herself so hard to improve her grades, it was distressing to watch.

Since that was the case, it was good to study together, and it was a perfect chance to help Xia Wei’er with her schoolwork.

Originally, Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli had called Xia Wei’er over to tutor Tang Ming, but now Tang Ming decided he would tutor Xia Wei’er instead.

To avoid Chu Batian being punished, Xia Wei’er didn’t tell Tang Ming about what had happened the night before. After entering the house and exchanging pleasantries, they started studying.

Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli, full of enthusiasm, dragged Xia Wei’er to find difficult problems to stump Tang Ming. However, no matter how tricky the questions they presented, Tang Ming was unphased, which was quite disheartening for them.

After studying for a while, Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli gave up; Tang Ming was just too freakish, utterly beyond their ability to challenge. Xia Wei’er, on the other hand, kept asking Tang Ming for advice, seeing it as an excellent opportunity to improve herself.

To help Xia Wei’er lighten her burden, Tang Ming explained the problems patiently and offered many constructive study suggestions.

This time, Xia Wei’er truly understood how formidable Tang Ming was academically. With his explanations, many areas she had not understood before became clear.

Tang Ming’s teaching ability was in no way inferior to that of the school’s teachers, and the most important point was that Tang Ming was a polymath, able to explain problems in any subject thoroughly, giving Xia Wei’er the impression she was receiving tuition from a universal master teacher.

In the blink of an eye, the morning passed. After lunch, Tang Ming and Xia Wei’er continued their diligent studies, while Liu Mengting busied herself with her own things, leaving Li Xiaoli restless.

"Meng Meng sister, stop studying already,"

Li Xiaoli nudged Liu Mengting and looked unhappily at Tang Ming and Xia Wei’er, who were discussing knowledge together.

"What’s the matter?" Liu Mengting put down her pen, rubbed her eyes, and looked at Li Xiaoli with confusion.

"I’ve realized we made a mistake,"

Li Xiaoli lowered her voice and said gloomily, "It’s true that Wei’er’s grades are better than ours, but her grades are still not as good as Tang Ming’s. She isn’t in any position to tutor Tang Ming; instead, it’s Tang Ming who’s tutoring her now."

"It does seem that way, but it really doesn’t matter. Wei’er is different from us—studying and doing well on the college entrance exam are incredibly important to her. It’s good that she’s able to improve her grades,"

Liu Mengting smiled nonchalantly and glanced at Tang Ming with contentment. "At least now Tang Ming isn’t always sleeping and has started to take his studies seriously."

"My dear sister Meng Meng, are you really naive or just pretending to be?"

Li Xiaoli looked at Liu Mengting exasperatedly, glanced nervously at Tang Ming and Xia Wei’er, "Have you forgotten that Xia Wei’er and Tang Ming have made their relationship official? The two of them look just like a couple, flaunting their love in front of us. Don’t you feel anything?"

"Flaunting their love?"

Liu Mengting paused for a moment, looked up and saw Tang Ming and Xia Wei’er whispering to each other, indeed looking very close.

She had been too busy with her studies to notice before, but after Li Xiaoli pointed it out, she immediately felt uncomfortable. If they were flaunting their love in front of her, wouldn’t she and Li Xiaoli end up being the third wheels?

"We need to think of a way to stop this from continuing,"

Li Xiaoli’s eyes were roving as she began to ponder.

Liu Mengting moved her lips but didn’t try to stop her. Given Li Xiaoli’s whimsical nature, even if she wanted to stop her, it would be no use.

"Oh my, I’m so tired,"

A moment later, Li Xiaoli suddenly slapped the table and stretched her back, protruding her chest.

"You scared me with your sudden outburst."

Tang Ming looked at Li Xiaoli speechlessly.

"We’ve been studying all day, aren’t you guys tired?"

Li Xiaoli stretched her limbs and said wearily, "Why don’t we take a break? Combining work with rest makes for higher efficiency, don’t you think?"

"I’m not tired."

Xia Wei’er glanced at Tang Ming, quickly blushed, and lowered her head. Getting to be so close to Tang Ming, she didn’t feel tired at all; instead, she treasured every moment.

Truth be told, Xia Wei’er was the most exhausted one there, having not slept all night and now pushing herself to study.

"I’m not tired either."

Tang Ming yawned; studying wasn’t challenging for him, so he didn’t feel tired at all.

"But I’m really tired, Meng Meng sister, aren’t you tired?"

Li Xiaoli pursed her lips and asked Liu Mengting pitifully.
